This year she received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota for research and study related to wetland environments. She is pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship. The groom was the valedictorian of the Bloomington, Indiana high school class of 1987. In 1992 he graduated Phi Beta Kappa form Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He received his Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Minnesota this year. He has just accepted a position as a research scientist for the United States Department of Agriculture.
