SILVER SPRINGS Thomas Daniel Chastain, 75, a disabled veteran, died Wednesday, July 12, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Chastain was a native of Highlands, N.C. and a resident of Silver Springs. He was a member of Christian Outreach International Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8267 and Fraternal Order of Eagles 3656. He was a U.S. Army veteran and prisoner of war inof World War II.
Mr. Chastain was preceded in death by his wife, Michele Chastain, and son Larry Chastain.
Survivors include his daughters, Alice King, and Sheila Watkins, both of North Carolina; sisters, Lillie Crisp, Franklin, N.C., Janice Watts, Swannanoa, N.C., and Louise Smith, Anderson, S.C.; and several nieces and nephews.

OCALA William E. "Bill" Hemmer, 85, a retired welding specialist, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Elmira Heights, N.Y., he moved here from Manitowoc, Wis., in 1972. Mr. Hemmer was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Council and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 4493. He was a U.S. Navy Seabees veteran of World War II.
Mr. Hemmer was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hemmer.
