OCALA — Carl Williams Jr., 70, a retired owner and operator of Industrial Truck and Lift, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at his home.
A native of Monroe County, Ala., he moved here from Pensacola in 1991. Mr. Williams was a member of College Road Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Alberta Williams, Ocala; daughters, Elizabeth Wright, Longwood, and Judy C. Wise, Ocala; son, Carl Rickey Williams, Alabama; sister, Vicie Gregson, Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

Philip Winkler, 81
CLAYMONT, Del. — Philip Quigley Churchman Winkler, 81, an industrial engineer, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000.
A native of Wilmington, Del., he was a former resident of Ocala. Mr. Winkler retired from DuPont Chamber Works, after 32 years of service. Mr. Winkler was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II. He was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 2009, Ocala, and Elks Lodge, No. 2730, Ocala.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle Winkler; children, David Winkler, Philip Winkler, Linda Rambo and Debe Winkler; brother, Charles Winkler; sister, Ann Stewart; and one granddaughter.
Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice.

Jerry D. Brehm, 46
OCALA — Jerry D. Brehm, 46, a maintenance man, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000.
A native of Hudson, N.Y., he moved here from Germantown, N.Y., 20 years ago. Mr. Brehm was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He was an employee of Holiday Travel Park.
Survivors include his mother, Gladys C. Brehm, Ocala; aunt, Eleanor Steerey, Hudson, N.Y.; and uncle, Herbert Bunk, Germantown.

Ann J. Connolly, 84
OCALA — Ann J. Connolly, 84, a retired office clerk for General Electric, died Friday, July 21, 2000.
Mrs. Connolly was a native of New York City and a resident of Ocala. She was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Survivors include her brothers, Bill Romas, McGregor, Iowa, and John Romas, Cresskill, N.J.

Marion A. Dudley, 98
CITRA — Marion Alfreda Dudley, 98, a homemaker, died Thursday, July 27, 2000, at her home.
A native of Ansonia, Conn., she moved here from West Haven, Conn., in 1978. Mrs. Dudley was Episcopalian.
Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Cornett, Citra, and Marion Milot, Camden, Ohio; son, Albert C. Dudley, Nashua, N.H.; sisters, Lillian Croll, Glastonbury, Conn., Jennette Hamilton, Woodbury, Conn.; brother, Kenneth Crossland, Rocky Hill, Conn.; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

Louis Hoover Jr., 84
REDDICK — Louis Hoover Jr., 84, a retired musician, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Shelbyville, Ind., he moved here from Robstown, Texas in 1965. Mr. Hoover was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Gaynelle Hoover, Reddick; sons, Louis Hoover III, Lafayette, La., and Joseph H. Hoover, Ocala; daughter, Sherri J. Eakin, Micanopy; stepson, Carl Lockamy, La Plata, Md.; stepdaughter, Martha A. Cromwell, Reddick; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Wanda M. Keene, 72
CITRA — Wanda M. Keene, 72, a retired bookkeeper, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000.
A native of Cleveland, she moved here from Homestead in 1973. Mrs. Keene was Methodist.
Survivors include her mother, E. Celesta Milner, Bryan, Ohio; aunt, Margaret M Meares, Largo; sons, David T. Keene, Hayward, Calif., Tere J. Keene, Ocala, and Dallas E. Rennie, Atlanta, Ga.; daughter, Candiss L. Whitt, Tampa; sister, Barbara Court, Florida; brother, William W. Court, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Anne B. Laliberte, 66, a retired administrative assistant for New England Telephone, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Pawtucket, R.I., she moved here10 years ago. Mrs. Laliberte was a member of the Queen Peace Catholic Church.
Mrs. Laliberte was preceded in death by her son, Thomas R. Laliberte.
Survivors include her husband, Roger A. Laliberte, Ocala; sons, Michael Laliberte, Providence, R.I., and Peter Laliberte, Jacksonville; daughter, Donna L. O'Shea, Longmeadow, R.I.; brothers, James McElroy, and Edward McElroy Jr., both of Pawtucket; sisters, Patricia Moran, Stuart, Helene Murray, Ocala, Theresa Downarowicz of North Attleboro, Mass., Rita Lachat, Cumberland, R.I., and Marie Sorel of Stuart; and six grandchildren.

Francisco Medina, 88
SUMMERFIELD — Francisco Medina, 88, an automotive body repairman, died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000.
A native of Corozal, Puerto Rico, he moved here from Miramar in 1981. Mr. Medina was Catholic. He was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church in Belleview. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Candida Medina, Summerfield; and sister, Josephine Rotter, Lake Placid.

James J. Ryan, 83
OCALA — James J. Ryan, 83, a retired certified public accountant, died Friday, August 4, 2000, at his home.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved here from Long Island, N.Y., 14 years ago. Mr. Ryan was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Catholic Accountant's Guild of the Diocese of Rockville in New York and New Jersey Society of Public Accountants. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Veronica Ryan, Ocala; sons, James J. Ryan Jr., Westbury, N.Y., and Steven R. Ryan, Shelbyville, Ind.; and one grandchild.

Thomas L. Shaw, 79
OCALA — Thomas Lewis Shaw, 79, a retired insurance electrical engineer, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, at Sun Bridge Care and Rehabilitation for Coventry.
A native of Shifnal, England, he moved here from Wauconda, Ill., in 1979. Mr. Shaw was Anglican. He was a member of Nunda Lodge 169, RSVP of Marion County, Numastic Association and British G.E. International, in London. He was a British-Royal Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel L. Shaw, Ocala; sister, Josephine Barlow, Newcastle, England; and two cousins.
Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.

WALLINGFORD, Conn. — Robert Soto Sr., 44, a foreman for Carpenters' Union, Local No. 24, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000.
Survivors include his mother, Angelina Soto, East Haven, Conn.; daughters, Christina Camputaro and Kristine Soto; son, Robert Soto Jr.; brothers, Gary Soto, Stamford, Conn., Joseph Soto and Anthony Soto, both of East Haven, and Salvatore Soto and Louis Soto Jr., both of New Haven, Conn.; sisters, Mary Soto Miller, Summerfield, Cynthia Soto, East Haven, and Laura Soto and Sharon Soto, both of East Haven; and two grandchildren.

BELLEVIEW — William A. Yates, 96, a retired carpenter, died Friday, August 4, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Fall River, Mass., he moved here from North Scituate, R.I., in 1978. Mr. was Protestant. He was a member of Lake Weir Lions Club. He was an employee of Shepherd's Department Store in Providence, R.I.
Mr. Yates was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Yates.
Survivors include his son, William A. Yates Jr., Belleview; sister, Ethel Cain, Pleasantville, N.J.; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
