John R. Williams, 78
BELLEVIEW — John R. "Bob" Williams, 78, a retired salesman in the plumbing industry, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Indianapolis, he moved here in 1988. Mr. Williams was a member of Ocklawaha United Methodist Church and a past president of the Smith Lake Shores Homeowners Association. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Sherelene Williams, Belleview; daughter, Jan Marley, Indianapolis; son, Robert "Bob" Williams, Indianapolis; three grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Leon E. Gainey, 69
THOMASVILLE, Ga. — Leon E. Gainey, 69, a retired manager for AT&N Lumber Service, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000.
Mr. Gainey was a native of Decatur, Ga. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Thomasville. Mr. Gainey was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was the recipient of a Purple Heart, a combat infantry badge, a Korean service medal and two bronze service stars.

OCALA — Hazel E. High, 89, a retired waitress, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Oxford, she was a longtime resident of Marion County. Mrs. High was a member of Oak-Griner Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Geraldine D. Belle, Ocala; two grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson.

M.H. Johnson Jr., 31
EAST PALATKA — M.H. "Bubba" Johnson Jr., 31, a heavy equipment operator for United Brothers Development Corp. in Jacksonville, died Saturday, Aug. 5, 2000.
A native of Palatka, he was a former resident of Ocala. Mr. Johnson was a volunteer at the Deaf Services Center of West Central Florida, a youth counselor for Camp Ocala, and a teacher for St. Augustine Shores Daycare. He enjoyed caring for children, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his mother, Rene Cooper Johnson, St. Augustine; father, M.H. Johnson Sr., Fort McCoy; stepmother, Karen Watts Johnson, Fort McCoy; sons, Jared Blaine Johnson and Brandon Lee Johnson, both of Ocala; sisters, Alicia "Buns" Johnson, Hollister, Harrelyn "Harri" Johnson Wheeler, St. Augustine, and Shana "GoGo" Johnson Marshall, East Palatka; brother, Gabriel Johnson, East Palatka; and several nieces and nephews.

OCALA — Donald S. MacKinnon, 92, a retired real estate agent, died Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Oak Park, Ill., he moved here from Elkhart, Ill., in 1980. Mr. MacKinnon was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a member of the American Legion and Golden Hills Golf and Turf Club.
Survivors include his daughters, Jorie Latham, East Hampton, N.Y., and Gillette Ransom, Elkhart; son, James C. MacKinnon, Santa Fe, N.M.; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

OCALA — William R. Meagher, 74, a retired chef, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at his home.
A native of Rochester, N.Y., he moved here in 1958. Mr. Meagher was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Meagher, Ocala; sons, Thomas Meagher, Clearwater, and Charles Meagher, Ocala; daughter, Linda C. Villegas, Oxnard, Calif.; two brothers; one sister; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

HERNANDO — Sonja D. Meehan, 64, a retired cafeteria worker for the Citrus County School System, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, at her home under hospice care.
A native of Chicago, she moved here from St. Petersburg 21 years ago. Mrs. Meehan was Greek Orthodox.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lia Jean Para Higgins; and a son, Patrick Para.

A native of Pennsylvania, he moved here from Miami 23 years ago. Mr. Riling was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was Lutheran.
He was preceded in death by a son, Don Lee Riling.

A native of Pottsboro, Texas, she moved here from Fort Walton Beach in 1969. Mrs. Weaver was an active member at Maricamp Road Church of Christ, Ocala. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, yardwork and gardening.
