OCALA — Doris Jean Spafford, 70, a retired schoolteacher, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at her home.
A native of Chicago, she moved to Ocala from London, Ky., seven years ago. Miss Spafford was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, and the Retired Teachers Association.

OCALA — Lillian D. Tiernan, 98, a homemaker, died Thursday, Aug., 24, 2000, at TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved to Ocala from Del Ray Beach four years ago.
Survivors include her sons, Frank Tiernan, Silver Spring, Md., and Ronald Tiernan, Ocala; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Howard E. Dillon, 76, a retired aircraft inspector for Allison Division G.M., died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Albion, Ind., he moved to Ocala in 1991. Mr. Dillon was a member of First Christian Church in Dunnellon. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

DUNNELLON — Orlando J. "Dan" Fero, an insurance board chairman, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000, at Lifecare Center of Citrus County.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Dunnellon in 1954. Mr. Fero was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a member of Ocala Local Board of Independent Agents, Dunnellon Chamber of Commerce, Dunnellon Lions Club, Knights of Columbus, St. John Neuman Council No. 8510, and Inverness Elks Lodge No. 2622. He worked for Western Union for 30 years, and Fero & Sons Insurance Agencies. He was owner of Parkview Hotel, and Dunnellon Loan Comp.

SILVER SPRINGS — Arline E. Fralix, 69, a retired tax preparer for H&R Block, died Saturday, Aug. 26, 2000, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Long Island, N.Y., she moved to Silver Springs from North Carolina in 1980. Mrs. Fralix was a member of St. Joseph of the Forest Catholic Church.

SAINT. PETERSBURG — Harold Exton Frear, 74, a retired, self-employed electrician, died Friday, Aug. 25, 2000.
Mr. Frear was a native of Ossining, N.Y., and a former resident of Inverness. He was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, American Legion Post No.155, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4252, Elks Lodge No. 2522, and Moose Lodge No. 2112. Mr. Frear was a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II.

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved to Ocala from Woodhaven, N.Y. 11 years ago. Mr. O'Brien was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Knight of Columbus, and Angela Santos Veteran of Foreign Wars Post No. 4781. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, and served in Underwater Demolition Team No. 21.
Mr. O'Brien was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret O'Brien.
