LEESBURG — Eugene Willard Brewster, 64, a truck driver, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000.
Mr. Brewster was a native of Corning, N.Y. He was a member of Valiant Air Command in Titusville and the Teamsters Union. Mr. Brewster was a U.S. Army veteran. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his daughter, Stacie Geen, Township, Mich.; mother and stepfather, Theresa and Herbert Timmerman, Tavares; brother, Douglas Timmerman, Leesburg; sister, Joan Campbell, Summerfield; and one grandchild.

OCALA — Ruth E. Brunner, 86, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, she moved here from Vandalia, Ohio, in 1971. Mrs. Brunner was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Brunner, Ocala; son, James Brunner, Centerville, Ohio; brother, Lawrence Laub, North Fort Myers; two grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Carrie Council, 96, a homemaker, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Greystone New Horizon Care Center.
A native of Santos, she was a lifelong resident of Marion County. Mrs. Council was a member of E.B. McCants Federation of Choirs 2, Neal Council Gospel Choir, Community Social Club of Santos and an active member of Little Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Velma Roscoe Council, Riviera Beach; and several nieces and nephews.

Lawrence A. Elwood, 80
OCKLAWAHA — Lawrence A. Elwood, 80, a retired draftsman in the construction industry, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at his home.
A native of Hornell, N.Y., he moved here 27 years ago. Mr. Elwood was a member of United Methodist Church of Ocklawaha; American Legion Post 284; United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America; life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4493, Candler; Hornell Local No. 1681; and past president of Seneca and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters. He served in the U.S. Army and was a prisoner of war during World War II.
Survivors include his daughters, Sandy Graham, Ocklawaha, Dianne Evans, Kent, Wash., and Karen Sukow, Ocala; son, Larry Elwood, Tallahassee; nine grandchildren; and eight grandchildren.

OCALA — Errol Lloyd Johnson, 47, a biomedical engineer, died Monday, Oct. 9, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jamaica, he moved here from Douglasville, Ga., 15 years ago. Mr. Johnson was a member of Shores Tabernacle of God. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

A native of Belleview, he moved to Gainesville 12 years ago. Mr. King was a member of Ramah Missionary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

OCALA — Irene C. Laboch, 73, an artist and a ceramics teacher, died Sunday, Oct. 8, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., she moved here 27 years ago. Mrs. Laboch taught ceramics at Silver Springs Shores Community Center for 25 years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Mrs. Laboch was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman J. Laboch.
Survivors include her daughter, Barbara Harrison, Fairfax, Va.; sons, Michael Laboch and John Laboch, both of Ocala; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A native of Waldo, he moved here from St. Petersburg in 1994. Mr. Sparkman was a fourth-generation timber and cattleman.

INGLIS — George E. Steele, 70, retired president of an assistant living development company, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, in Crystal River.
A native of Jacksonville, he was a longtime resident of Inglis. Mr. Steele was a member of Holy Faith Episcopal Church. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
He is survived by his son, Louis "Skip" Huch, Inglis.

BRIDGMAN, Mich. — Crystal Fern Thar, 90, a waitress, died Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at Jordan's Nursing Home.
A native of Sweetser, Ind., she was a former winter resident of Ocala. Mrs. Thar retired from Whitcomb Hotel of Benton Harbor, Mich., after more than 43 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Julius Thar.
Survivors include her daughters, Marie Partridge and Barbara Hopkins, both of Eau Claire, Mich.; sisters, Eileen Aldrich, Tampa, and Marge Holmes, Bridgman; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
