A native of Lavita, Germany, he moved here from Queens, N.Y., in 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Edith Baize, Ocala; sons, Paul Herndon, Mark Herndon and John Herndon, all of Ocala; and a grandchild.

Wenzel E. Barto, 86
FORT MCCOY — Wenzel Edgar Barto, 86, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000.
A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., he moved here from Flint, Mich., in 1989. Mr. Barto was Methodist.
Survivors include his daughters, Mildred Rupert, Arvada, Colo., Sandra Brooks, Sturgis, Mich., Linda Chance, Columbia, Mo., and Angela Higbie, Anchorage, Alaska; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

Patricia B. Duncan, 84
COLUMBIA, Md. — Patricia Ball Duncan, 84, an interior decorator, died Saturday, Sept. 16, 2000, at Howard County General Hospital.
A native of Jacksonville, she was a former longtime resident of Ocala. Mrs. Duncan was a member of Grace Episcopal Church; past president of Marion County Children's Committee; board member for United Way of Marion County, United Way of Florida and Grace Church Day School; vice president of Marion County Tuberculosis Association; and a Gray Lady at Munroe Regional Medical Center for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Vance Duncan.
Survivors include her son, Geoffrey M. Duncan, Safety Harbor; daughter, Marcia D. Lowry, Glenn Dale, Md.; sister, Vida Ball Fleishel, Highlands, N.C.; and two grandchildren.

OCALA — Edward R. Plante, 75, a mechanic, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000.
A native of Chicago, he moved here in 1990. Mr. Plante was a member of Florida Bible College Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Heidi Plante, Ocala; son, Edward Alan Plante, Eustis; daughter, Heidi Platson, Schaumburg, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

OCALA — Robert H. Rhodes, 72, a retired purchasing agent, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Friendsville, Tenn., he moved here from Winter Haven 13 years ago. Mr. Rhodes was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

OCALA — Roy J. Sterber, 75, a supervisor for Hazeltine Corp., died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000.
A native of Pittsburgh, he moved here from Long Island, N.Y., in 1981. Mr. Sterber was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans in Ocala. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Sterber was Lutheran.

OCALA — Ronald Richard Fish Sr., 65, a refrigerant mechanic, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Marion House Health Care in Ocala.
A native of Cohoes, N.Y., he moved here from Mexico six years ago. Mr. Fish was a U.S. Marines veteran.

LITCHFORD, N.C. — Matilda "Till" M. Haupt, 88, a retired registered nurse, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at Litchford Nursing Home in Raleigh, N.C.
Mrs. Haupt was a native of Nanticoke, Pa. She moved here from Fort Lauderdale in 1983 and moved to North Carolina in 1998. She was a former resident of Dunnellon. Mrs. Haupt was Catholic. She was a member of Rainbow Lake Estates Ceramic Club.

CRYSTAL RIVER — Rossie Jane Allen, 86, a homemaker, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at Life Care Center in Lecanto.
A native of Romeo, she came to Crystal River 55 years ago. Mrs. Allen was a member of Lecanto Baptist Church.

DUNNELLON — Max S. Bray, 62, former owner of Mr. Sanitation, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2000, at his home under the care of Hospice and his family.
A native of Florence, Ala., he came to Dunnellon from Mishawaka, Ind., 12 years ago. Mr. Bray was a member of Church of Christ and Veterans of Foreign Wars, both in Mishawaka, and Moose Lodge in Dunnellon.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra Ann Letherman, Mishawaka; mother, Alice Ritchey, Dunnellon; ex-wife, Nancy Brady, Mishawaka; brother, William Bray, Shelbyville, Ind.; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

A native of Olean, N.Y., he came here from North Babylon, N.Y., in 1985. Mr. Burlingame was a member of Joy Evangelical Lutheran Church, past president of Eastern Long Island Bowling Association and Pine Run Homeowners Association, and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

OCALA — Charles Robert Caldwell, a retired parts manager for the automobile industry, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, in Ocala.
A native of Delphia, Ind., he came to Ocala from Indiana in 1973. Mr. Caldwell attended Ocala West United Methodist Church, and was a member of St. John United Methodist Church in Cotton Plant. He also was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4209, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Lou Caldwell, Ocala; daughter, Susan Beam, Laffayette, Ind.; stepdaughters, Mary Ann Ball, Orange Park, and Barbara L. Naylor, Indianapolis; nine grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh E. Allen, and brothers Warner and Woodrow Moore.

SUMMERFIELD — Frank A. D'Angelo, Sr., 91, a retired self-employed brick contractor, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000.
A native of Washington, D.C., he came to Summerfield from Belleview five years ago. Mr. D'Angelo was a member of St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in Belleview, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his son, Frank A. D'Angelo, Jr., Accokeek, Md.; daughters, Jackie Cook, Crofton, Md., and Frances A. Shirley, Summerfield; two sisters; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
