CITRUS HILLS — Maria Moniz, 89, a retired bottling factory worker, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at her home.
A native of Sao Miguel, Acores, she moved here five years ago. Mrs. Moniz was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Inverness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joaoda Costa.
Survivors include her daughters, Jorgina Machado and Maria C. Rego, Warren, R.I.; sisters, Conceicao Almeida, Toronto and Constantina Moniz, Sao Miguel; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

WEIRSDALE — Myrtle Carolyn Nelson, 80, a retired insurance clerk for Commercial Credit Corp., died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at her home.
A native of Baltimore, she moved here in 1979.
Survivors include her husband, William A. Nelson, Weirsdale; daughters, Judy N. Farring and Virginia L. Nelson, both of Weirsdale; son, William A. Nelson, Belleview; sisters, Jeanette Cascio, Weirsdale and Nellie Eames, Ferrum, Va.; brothers, Charles B. OCALA — Raul Oscar Perez, 56, owner and operator of M&R Discount Cards, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he moved here from Zephyrhills six years ago. Mr. Perez was Catholic.

OCALA — Lois T. Woodbury, 80, a homemaker, died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jacksonville, she moved here 60 years ago. Mrs. Woodbury was a member of Mount Moriah Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a son, Maurice Woodbury.

SILVER SPRINGS — Thomas "Tex" Richard Metz, 69, a truck driver, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000.
A native of Cumberland, Md., he moved here from Lexington, Va., in 1971. Mr. Metz was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 10111. He was an Air Force veteran and served in the National Guard for five years.

HOMOSASSA — Mary C. Pluff, 95, a former business owner, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, in Crystal River.
A native of Aberdeen, Scotland, she moved to Homosassa from Ocala in 1989. Mrs. Pluff was the owner of Molly Bell's Restaurant and Tavern in Washington.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Pluff, Homosassa; son, Michael Bell, Kingsville, Texas; and a granddaughter.

OCALA — Estus Bill Smith, 82, a civil servant, died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2000, at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Morgantown, Miss., he moved here from Apopka two weeks ago. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years. He was a graduate of McComb High School, McComb, Miss.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma Lee Purl Smith.

Mr. Thomas was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran. Mr. Thomas was Protestant.
