OCALA — Karla I. Comyns, 69, a retired grocery store cashier, died Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Eisenacht, Germany, she moved here from Queens, N.Y., in 1992. Mrs. Comyns was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church; Oak Run Singles Club; and Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 4781.
Survivors include her son, Herbert Seitz, Huntington, N.Y.; sister, Helga Seitz, Langen, Germany; and brother, Karlheinz Seitz, Frankfurt, Germany.

Norris E. Copning, 50
BEVERLY HILLS — Norris Eugene Copning, 50, a retired rock miner, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, in Tampa.
A native of Montgomery, W.Va., he moved here from Charleston, W.Va., seven years ago. Mr. Copning attended River of Life Church, Inverness. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angel Dawn Copning.
Survivors include his wife, Relda Jean Copning; son, Joshua "Dude" Copning; daughter, Brenda Mayes, Beverly Hills; sister, Ruby Mayes, all of Beverly Hills; and a granddaughter.

BELLEVIEW — Regina "Genie" J. Filer, 81, a retired sales clerk for Senn's 5 & 10, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wheaton, Kan., she moved here from Miami in 1971. Mrs. Filer was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Filer, Belleview; sons, Donald Dean Filer, Ocala and Eugene Andrew Filer, Charlotte, N.C.; brother, Joseph Smith, Nixa, Mo.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

A native of White Hall, Ill., he moved here from Springfield, Ill., in April.

BEVERLY HILLS — Clinton Dickinson, 82, a retired business owner, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, in Bushnell.
A native of New Haven, Conn., he moved here from West Haven, Conn., 19 years ago. Mr. Dickinson was an owner of a liquor store. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna.

OCALA — Leslie F. Hoffman, 85, a retired shoe store manager, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at his home.
A native of Saginaw, Mich., he moved here from San Diego 20 years ago. Mr. Hoffman was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 4209, both in Ocala. He served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Hoffman, Ocala; sister, Sally Somerfield, Saginaw; brother, Bill Hoffman, Green Lake, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews.

OCALA — George E. Houle Sr., 68, a retired laborer for Asphalt Sealing Striping, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Worcester, Mass., he moved here in 1966. Mr. Houle was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by a son, David Houle.

A native of Middletown, Ohio, she moved here from Burnside, Ky., 15 years ago. Mrs. Lawson retired from Tee's Restaurant in Middletown after 30 years of service.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

OCALA -- Carroll P. Button, 83, a retired auto mechanic, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.
A native of Camillus, N.Y., he moved here from Phelps, N.Y., 12 years ago. Mr. Button was a member of Ocala Baptist Temple; member of the 700 Club; former member of the Grange in Camillus; former deacon of Memphis Baptist Church, Memphis, Tenn.; and former deacon of Grace Baptist Church, Phelps. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and twice received the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel D. Button.
Survivors include his son, Bernie VanHoft, Lyons, N.Y.; daughters, Linda Higgins, Canandaigua, N.Y., Janice Shepard, Seagoville, Texas, and Wendy Davis, Ocala; sister, Martha Peterson, New York; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
