SUMMERFIELD -- Arthur L. Cannon, 83, a retired auto body shop owner, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Elizabeth, N.J., he moved here from Linden, N.J., in 1980. Mr. Cannon was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church; American Legion Drum and Bugle Corps, Elizabeth; Holiday Rambler Travel Club; Lake Weir Community Club; and an active member of Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge No. 1014, Ocala.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Helen Cannon, Summerfield; daughters, Helen Carrar-Scutro, Lakewood, N.J., and Linda Wiedecker, Linden; sister, Mildred Dame, Manalapan, N.J.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church or the Florida Sheriff's Youth Ranches.

Leonard L. Daniels, 61
OCALA -- Leonard L. Daniels, 61, a heavy-equipment salesman for Ring Power Corp., died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Martel, he moved here from High Springs 42 years ago. Mr. Daniels was a member of St. John Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Sandra Penix and Marie D. Haislip, both of Ocala; and five grandchildren.

Franklin Hartman, 75
OCKLAWAHA -- Franklin "Gene" Hartman, 75, a retired factory worker for General Motors, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at his home.
A native of Tennessee, he moved here from Pontiac, Mich., 24 years ago. Mr. Hartman was member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles; Loyal Order of the Moose; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks; and United Auto Workers Union, Local No. 594, Pontiac. He was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Pearl Hartman, Ocklawaha; son, Franklin Hartman Jr., Grand Blanc, Mich.; daughters, Sharon Curlee, Pontiac, and Sue Ann White, Clarkston, Mich.; brothers, Lawrence Hartman, Davisburg, Mich., and Bill Hartman, Waterford, Mich.; and sister, Julia Dowson, Michigan.
National Cremation Society, Fruitland Park, provided information.

Charles K. LeVines, 86
OCALA -- Charles K. LeVines, 86, a retired business owner, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.
A native of Red Level, he moved here from Fort Myers in 1942. Mr. LeVines owned a septic tank business. He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and the Ocala Power Squadron. Mr. LeVines was a veteran of World War II and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Clyde G. LeVines, who died on Oct. 13, 1987.
Survivors include his son, Daniel J. Barksdale, Ocala; daughters, Linda L. Winchenbach and Ione B. Musseau, both of Ocala; sister, Charlotte DeBoard, Hernando; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Jose D. Lopez, 60
OCALA -- Jose D. Lopez, 60, a retired fireman, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000, at TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, he moved here in June. Mr. Lopez retired from the city of Guayanilla. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his daughter, Ileana Lopez, Puerto Rico; sons, Victor L. Lopez, Ocala, and Jose L. Lopez, Puerto Rico; sister, Dilva Lopez, Newark, N.J.; brother, Harry Lopez, Puerto Rico; and three grandchildren.

Estella P.W. Nelson, 81
WILLISTON -- Estella Perry Wilkinson Nelson, 81, a retired bookkeeper for University of Florida, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2000.
A native of Oxford, she moved to Williston from Gainesville seven years ago. Mrs. Nelson was a member of Highland Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Louis M. Nelson, Williston; daughter, Judy Beard Stokes, Williston; son, Robert J. "Buddy" Beard, Tecumseh, Okla.; sisters, Geraldine Hagerman, Tampa, and Madeline Wicker, Sanford, N.C.; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Alice S. Price, 82
SILVER SPRINGS -- Alice S. Price, 82, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Marion House Health Care Center.
A native of Georgia, she moved here from Jacksonville in 1978. Mrs. Price was a member of Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church and Ladies Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 10111, Silver Springs.
She was preceded in death by her son, Linniel T. Price.
Survivors include her daughters, Mary Alice Bell, Avon Park, Katherine Draft, Gilbert, S.C., and Gwendaline Jones, Virginia; sister, Nell A. Hinson, Silver Springs; brothers, O.T. Hilson, Silver Springs, B.C. "Bobby" Hilson, Dalton, Ga., and L.H. Hilson, Miami; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Richard A. Stewart, 50
CRYSTAL RIVER -- Richard Arden Stewart, 50, a retired lieutenant commander for the U.S. Navy, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2000, at his home.
A native of Ocala, he moved to Crystal River from Dunnellon in June. Mr. Stewart served for 25 years in the Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa Stewart, Crystal River; son, Christopher Stewart, Melbourne; daughter, Kelly Stewart, Melbourne; brother, Charlie Stewart, Old Town; and sister, Judith Ann Williamson, Old Town.

Ronald R. Britt, 52
LEESBURG — Ronald Ray Britt, 52, a business owner, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000.
A native of Darlington County, S.C., he moved to Leesburg from Ocala in 1975. Mr. Britt owned and operated Ron Britt's Auto Service of Leesburg. He was a member of New Life Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Britt, Leesburg; daughters, Rhonda Chamberlain, Lake City, S.C., Donna Van Sweringen, Tampa, and Ronalda Fields, Ada, Ohio; mother, Annie Mae Cross, Darlington, S.C.; brothers, Jack Britt, Bentonville, Ark., William Britt and Peyton Britt, both of Ocala; sisters, Irene Martin, Darlington, and Lila McGee, Florence, S.C.; and seven grandchildren.

OCALA — Edwin A. "Bud" Cottet, 73, a retired line supervisor for General Motors, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Piqua, Ohio, he moved here from Medway, Ohio, in 1983. Mr. Cottet was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Cottet, Ocala; and sister, Marie Broering, Troy, Ohio.

Carolyn J. Dixon, 43
OCALA — Carolyn Joyce Dixon, 43, a customer service representative of Kane's Furniture, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Ms. Dixon was a native and a lifelong resident of Marion County. She was an active member of New Second Bethel Baptist Church, Dunnellon. Ms. Dixon served in the U.S. Army for four years.
Survivors include her daughters, Tammara Smith, Orlando, Toccara Jenkins and Kelsia Gordon, both of Dunnellon; sister, Eulilia Hillard, Dunnellon; and a grandchild.

Carolyn A. Gresham, 54
DUNNELLON — Carolyn Ann Gresham, 54, a retired sales clerk for J.C. Penney Company Inc., died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at her home.
A native of St. Petersburg, she moved here six years ago. Mrs. Gresham was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunnellon. She enjoyed reading, fishing and doing crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Michael Gresham, Dunnellon; sister, Susie Martin, St. Petersburg; and her parents, Francis and Beverly Lacy, St. Petersburg.

Kenneth Lee, 59
OCALA — Kenneth Lee, 59, a self-employed truck driver, died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000, at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Attalla, Ala., he moved here from Frostproof six years ago.
He is survived by his daughter, Belinda Florio-Bueter, Ocala; sons, Michael Lee, Belleview, and Thomas Lee-Gay, Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; and seven grandchildren.

Bernice B. Lewis, 68
OCALA — Bernice B. Lewis, 68, a retired educator for Marion County Public School System, died Saturday, Nov. 4, 2000, at Estelle's Hospice House.
Mrs. Lewis was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala. She was a member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Keith Lewis, Ocala, and Joseph Lewis, Atlanta; and two grandchildren.
