A native of Asheville, N.C., he moved here from Brecksville, Ohio, in 1972. Mr. Acker was a member of Inverness Church of God.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Mary Rae Hinckley Acker, Inverness; sons, Bert R. Acker, Berea, Ohio, and Thomas H. Acker, Asheville; daughters, Joy A. Kanter, Inverness, and Deborah A. Starner, Hernando; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Otis E. Baker, 73
SILVER SPRINGS — Otis Eugene "O.E." Baker, 73, a retired agent for Prudential Insurance Co., died Friday, Nov. 17, 2000, at his home.
A native of Owensburg, Ind., he moved here from Marathon. Mr. Baker was a member and past exalted ruler of Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge 2139; member and past master of Masonic Lodge 323 (F&AM), both in Marathon. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Debbie Shoenfelt, Homestead; sons, Dale Baker, Marathon, and Mike Baker, Silver Springs; ex-wife, Ruth Baker; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

BEVERLY HILLS — Oleta M. Collins, 90, a retired clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at Heartland of St. Petersburg.
A native of Bedford, Ind., she moved here from Hollywood 17 years ago. Mrs. Collins was Protestant.

DUNNELLON — Linda R. Conrad, 65, a retired civil service employee for the U.S. government, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000.
A native of Brinkman, Okla., she moved here from Washington, D.C., in 1988. Mrs. Conrad was a member of the Citrus County Women's Bowling Association.
She was preceded in death by a son, Charles Harold Conrad.

BEVERLY HILLS — Gerald J. Maxwell, 85, a retired aviation insurance underwriter, died Monday, Nov. 20, 2000.
A native of New York City, he moved here from Mahwah, N.J., in 1984. Mr. Maxwell was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by a son, Nathan Putersznit, who died on June 25, 1988.
