DUNNELLON — John Laurence Cable, 66, a retired college professor and author of mathematics textbooks, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in Dunnellon.
A native of Buffalo, N.Y., he came to Dunnellon from Miami in 1983.
Survivors include his sisters, Elizabeth C. Kay and Sue M. Harig, both of Dunnellon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

Stephen J. Dergosits, 64
HOMOSASSA — Stephen John Dergosits, 64, a refrigeration mechanic, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at his residence.
A native of New York, he came to Homosassa nine years ago. Mr. Dergosits was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Gail Preston Dergosits, Homosassa; sons, Stephen John Dergosits Jr., Homosassa, Michael Dennis and William John Dergosits, both of New York; sister, Theresa Polzer, New York; and five grandchildren.

Laverne E. Dutour, 78
OCALA — Laverne Edward Dutour, 78, a retired auto parts manager for a Chevrolet dealership, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, in Ocala.
A native of Lerable, Ill., he came here from Bradley, Ill., in 1997. Mr. Dutour was Lutheran and a member of Moose Lodge in Bradley.
Survivors include his wife, Luella Dutour, Ocala; daughter, Linda Bond, Dunnellon; sister, Isabelle Lake, Moore Park, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Coy L. McClanahan, 65
HOMOSASSA — Coy L. McClanahan, 65, a retired coal miner, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000.
A native of Galax, Va., he came to Homosassa from Bluefield, W.Va., 13 years ago. Mr. McClanahan was Protestant, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars, and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8189 in Crystal River.
Survivors include his wife, Madeline Johnson McClanahan, Homosassa; sons, Robert E. Jones, Fort Watuca, Ariz., Coy L. McClanahan Jr., Homosassa, and John M. McClanahan, Citrus Springs; daughters, Patricia M. Jones and Diane L. Proffet, both of Bluefield, and Shirley A. Hodges, Beckley, W.Va.; mother, Gladys McClanahan, Bluefield; brother, Douglas McArthur McClanahan, Fall Mills, Va.; and 13 grandchildren.

Edna A. Ray, 93
OCALA — Edna Agnes Ray, 93, a retired candy maker, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, in Ocala.
A native of Waynesville, Mo., she came here from St. Charles, Mo., in 1999. Mrs. Ray was Baptist.
Survivors include her sons, Harold E. Ray, Ocala, and Louis R. Ray, Carrollton, Texas; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clint Ray.

Aileen R. Sumpter, 76
LAS VEGAS — Aileen R. Sumpter, 76, a retired teacher, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Odyssey Health Care Inc.
A native of Wilkinsburg, Pa., she was a former resident of Silver Springs Shores for 12 years, before moving to Las Vegas three weeks ago.
Survivors include her daughters, Sally Vincent, Las Vegas, and Margaret Traynom, Aurora, Colo.; sons, John Sumpter, Alexandria, Va., and Richard Sumpter, McKenzie, Tenn.; brother, Robert Ringstad, Glen Rock, N.J.; and three grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Ocala Library.

Theresa E. Taylor, 59
OCALA — Theresa E. Taylor, 59, a retired insurance claims supervisor, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at a Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
A native of Garden City, Kan., she moved here from Lanham, Md.
Survivors include her husband, Sherman Taylor, Ocala; sons, James and Kevin Taylor, both of Charlotte, N.C.; sisters, Rose Ann Lawrence, Burtonsville, Md., Leona Dater, Spokane, Wash., and Sister Mary Ellen, Great Bend, Kan.; brothers, Silver Dater, Lenexa, Kan., and Ed Dater, Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude's Catholic Community Church, or to a charity of your choice.

UTICA, Ky. — Mildred Cox "Tootsie" White, 73, a retired employee for Texas Gas Transmission Corp., died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, at Owensboro Mercy Health System in Kentucky.
She was a native of Hart County, Ky. Mrs. White was a member of Utica United Methodist Church, and played the autoharp.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, James "Crane" White; son, James White, Ocala; daughter, Janice Aldridge, Utica; stepdaughter, Theresa Daily, Amelia Island; sisters, Dean Allen and Iris Boyken, both of Utica, and Doris Parks, Owensboro, Ky.; four grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Rose Wolfe, 96
OCALA — Rose Wolfe, 96, a homemaker, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000, in Ocala.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here from Miami Beach three years ago. She was Jewish.
Survivors include her son, Gerald A. Wolfe, Ocala; two sisters; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Bruce E. Blakemore, 76
WEIRSDALE — Bruce E. Blakemore, 76, a masonry contractor, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2000.
A native of Shawnee, Okla., he moved here from Oklahoma City, Okla., in 1958. Mr. Blakemore served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Blakemore, Weirsdale; son, Wayne Blakemore, Polk City; daughters, Pamela Cherry, Leesburg, Beryle Folds, Weirsdale, Sherrie Grodzinski, Sunset Harbor, Vicki Blakemore, Lakeland and Terra Hughes, Belleview; brother, Burl Blakemore, Oklahoma City; sister, Nadine Tolley, Edmond, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

ZEPHYRHILLS — Frances V. Callari, 89, a retired nurse, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000.
A native of Winfield, Ohio, she was a former resident of Beverly Hills. Mrs. Callari was a member of Beverly Hills Community Church.
Survivors include her sons, David Volmer, West Palm Beach; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Walter C. Cleaver, 91
OCALA — Walter C. Cleaver, 91, a retired executive buyer for Grumman Aerospace Corp., died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at his home.
Mr. Cleaver was a native of Brooklyn, N.Y. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church; Knights of Columbus, Huntington, N.Y.; and Ocala Theatre Guild.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine Cleaver, Ocala; daughters, Daria Paterson, Northport, N.Y., Janine Hanson, Huntington and Lauren Rothenburger, Ocala; sons, Denis P. Cleaver, Phoenix, and Jeffrey Cleaver, Tombstone, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.

Charles R. Frazier, 86
OCALA — Charles R. Frazier, 86, a retired regional sales manager for Coca Cola Bottling Company of New York, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Frazier was a native of Fleming, Ky. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church; Silver Springs Country Club and Golf Association; and the Men's Golf Association in On Top of the World. Mr. Frazier served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Charles Frazier.

Lila W. Gavin, 77
FORT MCCOY — Lila W. Gavin, 77, a retired waitress, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, in Owings, Md.
A native of Plum Branch, S.C., she moved here from Forest Heights, Md., in 1974.
Survivors include her son, James E. Knight, Tampa; daughters, Barbara Pinkston, Middleburg and Rhonda Twilley, Huntingtown, Md.; brothers, Paul West, Wesley Chapel and J.B. West, Kittanning, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Roland Graton, 86
DUNNELLON — Roland Graton, 86, a retired motel owner, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2000, at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River.
A native of Derry, N.H., he moved here from Ayer, Mass., 35 years ago. Mr. Graton was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8201, Rainbow Lakes Estates. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, where he earned 14 service medals.
Survivors include his son, Barry Graton, Ayer; stepson, Philip Gratton, Garland, Texas; stepdaughters, Lois Hogan, Woodstock, Ga., Evelyn Stevens, Newport, N.C., Elaine Robson, Topsville, Mass., and Judith Clark, Wolfeboro, N.H.; nine stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
