OCALA — Lucy G. Sarhage, 74, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000.
A native of Decatur, Ill., she moved to Ocala from St. Louis in 1984. Mrs. Sarhage was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn E. Sarhage, Ocala; daughters, Carolyn J. Lilly, Cindy D. Hoelting, both of Winter Park, and Jennifer J. Fiedler, Deltona; stepdaughters, Claudia Belsly, Metamora, Ill., and Janet Cook, Seneca, Mo.; sister, Shirley Brown, Atlanta; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Jean E. Simerly, 75
CITRUS HILL — Jean E. Simerly, 75, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at her home.
A native of Gillespie, Ill., she moved to Citrus Hill from Michigan 15 years ago. Mrs. Simerly was Presbyterian.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Kenneth W. Simerly, Citrus Hills; daughters, Lynda J. Simerly, Inverness, and Bonnie J. Simerly, New Orleans; brother, Archie Allen. Tennessee; sisters, Virginia Stamper, Utah, Ruth Montroy, Nevada, and Joyce Ziegler, Michigan.

Curtis L. Scott, 66
REDDICK — Curtis Lee Scott, 66, a laborer, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native and lifelong resident of Lowell. Mr. Scott was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Lowell.
Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his sons, Curtis L. Scott Jr., and Carlton N. Scott.
Survivors include his sons, Roland Scott, Detroit, and Curtis R. Scott, DeFuniak Springs; daughters, Mary Brown, Lawanda Climo, both of Orlando, and Christina Johnson, Tampa; mother, Bessie M. Scott, Lowell; brother, Henry Scott, Gainesville; sisters, Sallie Woodard, Lillie Wilson, Elmira Wilson, Mary Stoudemire, Alberta Evans, and Reatha Water, all of Lowell; and seven grandchildren.

Carl D. Stephany, 86
SUMMERFIELD — Carl D. Stephany, 86, a retired railroad carpenter, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Philadelphia, he moved to Summerfield from there 24 years ago. Mr. Stephany was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. He was Lutheran. He was a member of Masonic Harmony Lodge No. 52; and Tampa Shriners.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Stephany, Summerfield; daughter, Nancy Holeton, Summerfield; son, John Stephany, Telford, Pa.; and one grandchild.

Ben Williams, 63
OCALA — Ben "Unc" Williams, 63, a laborer, died Thursday, Dec. 7, 2000.
A native of White Oak, Ga., he moved to Ocala from Georgia 50 years ago.
Survivors include his nieces, Lillie Young, Rosa Kimble, and Diane Brown, all of Ocala; and nephews, Henry Young and Alfonso Young, both of Ocala.

Daisy Woznick, 91
LECANTO — Daisy Woznick, 91, a stenographer, died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2000, at Arbor Oaks Lodge- Brentwood in Lecanto.
A native of Bethel, N.C., she moved to Lecanto from Long Island, N.Y., 25 years ago. Mrs. Woznick was Pentecostal.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Michael Woznick, Lecanto; and one niece.

Martha J. Yates, 73
ORLANDO — Martha J. Yates, 73, a retired restaurant owner, died Monday, Dec. 11, 2000.
A native of Turtle Creek, Pa., she moved to Orlando from Belleview in 1957. Mrs. Yates was Methodist.
Survivors include her son, Richard L. Yates, Orlando; sisters, Evelyn Stoddard, North Haverhill, N.H., and Francis Shaulis, Port Charlotte; brothers, Bernard Wallace, Tampa, and Clyde Wallace, Mesa, Ariz.; and two grandchildren.

Ruth Adelberg, 85
BEVERLY HILLS — Ruth Adelberg, 85, a retired secretary for G.M. Distributors, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000.
A native of Cleveland, she moved here from Oak Park, Mich., in 1973. Mrs. Adelberg was an active member of Temple Beth Shalom and a member of Beverly Hills Civic Association.
Survivors include her husband, William M. Adelberg, Beverly Hills; son, Michael L. Adelberg, Ann Arbor, Mich.; daughter, Barbara A. Loupos, Beverly Hills; brothers, Gerald Jacobs and Harold Jacobs, Farmington, Mich.; sister, Florence Morris, Los Angeles; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Iva L. Arnold, 88
OCALA — Iva L. Arnold, 88, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Orange Springs, she was a longtime resident of Ocala. Mrs. Arnold was a member of Simmons Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sidney Smith; and daughter, Freda Randall.
Survivors include her daughters, Glenda Pierce, Citra, Janice Humphreys and Bernice Holly, both of Ocala; sons, Henry Smith, Oak, Gilbert Smith and Harold Smith, both of Ocala, Milton Cheshire and Ronald "Pete" Smith, both of Anthony; sisters, Edith Thompson, Citra, and Vivian Guthrie, Hawthorne; brothers, James Cheshire, California, Walter Cheshire and Russell Matchett, both of Citra; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Ruby Battenfield, 96, a retired restaurant cook, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Harrison, Ark., she moved here from Orlando in 1980. Mrs. Battenfield was a member of Berean Baptist Church of Ocala.
Survivors include her daughters, Ida Farmer, Ocala, Joan Lovett and Dorothy Dempsey, both of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Thomas J. Boyles, 66
OCALA — Thomas J. Boyles, 66, a truck driver, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000.
A native of Kalamazoo, Mich., he moved here from Michigan in 1961. Mr. Boyles was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Delores Boyle; daughters, Donna Miniaci and Connie Murray, all of Ocala; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

OCALA — Rosa M. Bratcher, 86, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at Life Care Center of Ocala.
A native of Lakeland who was a longtime resident of Suwannee County, Mrs. Bratcher was a member of Oak-Griner Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, George P. Bratcher, Ocala; daughter, Janette Miller, Ocala; son, Edward Chauncey, Gainesville; sister, Novella Kain, Ocala; brother, Robert Stricklen, Lake City; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

CRYSTAL RIVER — Pete Common, 62, a retired construction developer, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000.
A native of Dayton, Ohio, he moved to Crystal River from Inverness in 1998. Mr. Common was a member of Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, Inverness. He was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Sylvia R. Common, Crystal River; daughter, Kimberly Bollinger, Inverness; brother, Ted Davis; sisters, Carol Bartel, Crystal River, and Terry McGrath, Floral City.

Marvel J. Dise, 88
INVERNESS — Marvel J. Dise, 88, a retired silk finisher in the dry cleaning business, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000.
A native of Coldwater, Mich., she moved here from Owosso, Mich., in 1971. Mrs. Dise was Protestant.
She is survived by her sons, Dan H. Dise, Columbia, Tenn., Larry D. Bowles, Stafford, Va., Jerry L. Bowles and Donald G. Bowles, both of Belleview; daughters, Velma L. Cronk, Inverness, and Linda A. Robinson, Fresno, Calif.; 19 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Millage Gudger, 69, a self-employed electrician, died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2000, at his home.
A native of Washington, D.C., he moved here one year ago.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Gudger; son, Millage Gudger III; stepsons, Raymond King, John King and Mikel King, all of Ocala; and nine grandchildren.

Billy N. Heaton, 64
BELLEVIEW — Billy Noel Heaton, 64, a retired security guard, died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2000, at his home.
A native of Albertville, Ala., he moved here from Alabama 40 years ago. Mr. Heaton was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was Baptist.
He is survived by his companion, Pauline Davis, Belleview; two sons; one daughter; one stepson; six stepdaughters; three brothers; three sisters; and 16 step-grandchildren.
