OCALA — Joseph Draszawka, 85, a retired chemist, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his home.
A native of Blizanow, Poland, he moved to Ocala from New Jersey in 1981. Mr. Draszawka was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Anna Draszawka, Ocala.

Mary E. Forrester, 81
PLYMOUTH, Mich. — Mary Elizabeth Forrester, 81, employee for Daisy Air Rifle Co., died Wednesday, Dec. 27, 2000.
Mrs. Forrester was a native of Rives, Tenn. She moved to Plymouth from Florida in 1990. She was a member of Fairfield Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church in Plymouth. She was a retired employee from Anchor Coupling Co., in Plymouth.
Mrs. Forrester was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Forrester.
Survivors include her sons, Donald Forrester, Plymouth, and Robert Forrester, Ypsilanti, Mich.; sister, Charlotte Johnson, Ocala; brother, Robert Cude, Crystal River; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

John J. Garley, 78
LECANTO — John J. Garley, 78, a retiree from Grumman Aerospace, died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.
A native of Jersey City, N.J., he moved to Lecanto from Nevada 11 years ago. Mr. Garley was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was Catholic. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans.
Mr. Garley was preceded in death by a son, John Garley.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Garley, Lecanto; sons, Tom Garley, Las Vegas, and Patrick Scotti, Picksville, N.Y.; brother, James Garley, Ocean Grove, N.J.; and one grandchild.

REDDICK — Daniel Leroy Polk, 52, a research coordinator for University of Florida, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000.
A native of McIntosh and a lifelong resident of McIntosh. Mr. Polk was a member of First United Methodist Church; and North Marion Lions Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Polk, Reddick; daughter, Amanda Polk, Reddick; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rob Roy Polk, Evinston; brothers, Richard A. Polk, Cross Creek, and Samuel E. Polk, Evinston; and sister, Marcia Sue Strunk, Citra.

OCALA — Rosemary L. Scheel, 72, a retired high school English teacher, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Jackson, Miss., she moved to Ocala from Appleton, Wis., in 1988. Mrs. Scheel was Presbyterian.

ANTHONY — John R. "Jack" Thompson, 56, a truck driver for K.W.I. Trucking, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at Shands Hospital in Gainesville.
A native of Waterbury, Conn., he moved to Anthony from Naugatuck, Conn., in 1989. Mr. Thompson was Catholic. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

SUMMERFIELD — Norman A. Ward, 68, a retired fire marshal for Marion County Sheriff's Office, died Thursday, Dec. 21, 2000, in Arizona.
A native of Providence, R.I., he moved to Summerfield from Rhode Island in 1974. Mr. Ward was Baptist. He was a member of American Red Cross; and South Marion Fire Department volunteer.
Mr. Ward was preceded in death by a son, Norman "Buddy" Ward.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine I. Ward, Summerfield; daughter, Sandra W. Farring, Ocala; stepson, Lee Newsome, Ocala; sister, Hope Waterman, Johnston, R.I.; and three grandchildren.
