OCALA — Robert Madison, 77, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2000.
A native of Quitman, Ga., he moved here more than 60 years ago. Mr. Madison was a U.S. Army veteran.

EXETER, N.H. — Charles K. Nutter, 84, retired, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at his home.
A native of Haverhill, Mass., he moved to Exeter from Ocala in 1996. Mr. Nutter retired from the directors office of New Hampshire Sweepstakes Commission. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary E. Nutter.
Survivors include his sons, Richard F. Nutter, Exeter, and Charles K. Nutter Jr., Newburyport, Mass.; daughter, Maryann Pottle, Exeter; and four grandchildren.

RADCLIFF, Ky. — Ila Belle Johnson Richardson, 102, a homemaker, died Friday, Dec. 29, 2000, at North Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of North Carolina, she was a former longtime resident of Ocala. Mrs. Richardson was a member of Ocala Primitive Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Orville L. Richardson, a son, and two daughters.
Survivors include her sister, Ruby Barbour, Clinton, Md.; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

SUMMERFIELD — Frederick B. Stanton, 85, a retired parts manager for Western Auto, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at his home.
A native of Frankfort, Ind., he moved here from Ohio in 1945. Mr. Stanton served in the U.S. Merchant Marine. He was a member of Weirsdale Presbyterian Church; Scottish Rites, Ocala; and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He is survived by his wife, Kouneta Stanton, Summerfield, and several nieces and nephews.

Theodore A. Bewley Sr., 68
ORANGE SPRINGS — Theodore A. "Ted" Bewley Sr., 68, a retired captain in the U.S. Marine Corps, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Fort McCoy, he was a longtime resident of Marion County. Mr. Bewley was a member of Unity Baptist Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars in Washington. Capt. Bewley served in the Marines during the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel E. Bewley.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Rose M. Bewley, Orange Springs; daughters, Rose A. Larue, and Susan J. Seckinger, both of Fort McCoy; sons, John A. Wallace, Anthony, and Theodore A. Ray G. Gann, 73
WILLISTON — Ray G. Gann, 73, a former deputy state insurance commissioner, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at his home.
A native of Mableton, Ga., he moved to Williston from Blitchton 14 years ago. Mr. Gann served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946; U.S. Marine Corps from 1946 to 1949; U.S. Coast Guard from 1949 to 1952; and U.S. Coast Guard Reserve from 1952 to 1955. Mr. Gann was the recipient of the following medals: American Theater, Pacific Theater, Good Conduct, Army of Occupation, World War II Service, and Victory. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church; former chairman of the Democratic Party in Pinellas County; and past vice president of the Holiday Isles Chamber of Commerce.

Furman T. Gilstrap, 84
DUNNELLON — Furman Thomas Gilstrap, 84, a retired business owner, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Crystal River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Rosman, N.C., he moved here from Chattanooga, Tenn., in 1964. Mr. Gilstrap was owner and operator of Red's Welding Service for 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dunnellon; a member of the Dunnellon Masonic Lodge; and former member of Loyal Order of the Moose in Palmetto. Mr. Gilstrap taught welding at Central Florida Community College and Withlacoochee Technical Institute.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Louise Gilstrap, Dunnellon; daughters, Alyce C. Cortez, Fayetteville, N.C., and SueAnne Gilstrap, Lecanto; brothers, Ross E. Gilstrap, Greenville, S.C., Ernest G. Mrs. Hennessy was a member of National Association of Social Workers, Community Crisis Response Team, the board of directors of the Domestic Violence Center of Marion County, and the board of directors of the Professional Counseling Center of Marion County.
