BELLEVIEW — The Rev. Estel Sulfridge, 77, a Baptist minister, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Tazewell, Tenn., he moved here from Monroe, Mich. Rev. Sulfridge served as pastor for LaSalle Missionary Baptist Church, Kentucky Park Missionary Baptist Church, and True Gospel Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a crane operator for Ford Motor Company for 30 years. Mr. Sulfridge was a member of United Auto Workers Union, Local No. 723; United Baptist Church, Candler; and Tennessee Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary K. Cupp; and son, Kevin R. Sulfridge.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Sulfridge, Belleview; son, Keith R. Sulfridge, Monroe; daughter, Beverly S. Gaynier, Monroe; brother, J.D. Sulfridge, Glennie, Mich.; stepsons, Gerald Loope, Ocklawaha, Rick Loope, Monroe and Randy Loope, Lenoir City, Tenn.; stepdaughters, Pamela Sellers, Toledo and Cathy Whited, Belleview; brother, J.D. Sulfridge, Glennie; six grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and seven great-step-grandchildren.

DUNNELLON — Rickey Ricardo Whaley, 35, a construction worker for Don Leigh Construction, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at his home.
A native of Inverness, he was a longtime resident of Dunnellon. Mr. Whaley was a member of First Bethel Baptist Church of Dunnellon.
Survivors include his daughter, Brittney Whaley, Dunnellon; sons, Rico Whaley and Rechelle Whaley, both of Dunnellon; father, Harold Whaley Sr., Silver Springs Shores; stepmother, Joan Whaley, Silver Springs Shores; brothers, Harold Whaley Jr., San Diego and Keith Whaley, Ocala; stepbrothers, Jordan Whaley, Dunnellon and Stephen C. Randolph, Silver Springs Shores; sisters, Ruthette Cooper, Dunnellon and Patrice Whaley, West Palm Beach; and stepsisters, Meredith Barrett, Silver Springs Shores.

Audrey L. Anthony, 86
SALT SPRINGS — Audrey L. Anthony, 86, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, she moved here from Jacksonville in 1972. Mrs. Anthony was a member of Salt Springs Christian Church and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her sons, Earl C. Anthony Jr., Hawaii, Clifford Anthony, Glen Burnie, Md., and Melvern Callahan, Fair Play, S.C.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Gerald H. Cowles, 87
OCALA — Gerald H. Cowles, 87, an equine rehabilitator, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001.
A native of Woodhull, Ill., he moved here 35 years ago. Mr. Cowles was also an author and poet. His books include "The Golden Treasury of Great Poems," in 1989; "The World of Poetry Anthology," in 1991; and "Stars Above the Saukenuk," a book on the history of Woodhull from 1857 through 1957, published in 1982. Mr. Cowles was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
Survivors include his brothers, John A. Cowles, Iowa, Robert T. Cowles, Missouri, and Quentin H. Cowles, Illinois; and his sisters, Kathleen M. Frysting, Peoria, Ill., and Mary A. Sacco, South Carolina.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County or to the Marion County Public Library System.

OCALA — Alma Cordelia Johnson, 87, a retired educator, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Memorial Hospital West, Pembroke Pines.
Mrs. Johnson was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala. She was a member of Ocala Church of Christ.
Survivors include her nephew, Leonard Johnson, Deltona; and nieces, Gloria Pasteur, Miami, Tara Pasteur, Pembroke Pines, Carrie Parker, Jewel Wilson, Kim Harris and Sylvia Cohen, all of Ocala.

BROADWAY, Va. — Harold John Miller, 90, a retired self-employed jeweler and watchmaker, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001.
A native of Kitchener, Ontario, he moved to Broadway from Homosassa Springs one year ago. Mr. Miller served in the Canadian Royal Air Force.
Survivors include his wife, Minna L. Miller, Broadway; son, Ralph Miller, Canada; stepsons, Ken McNulty, Harrisonburg, Va. and Donald McNulty, New Hampshire; daughter, Peggy McPhail, Milton, Ontario; stepdaughter, Linda Daley, Bloomington, Minn.; three grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Clifford S. Riley, 87, retired owner of Bell Laundry, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Chambersburg, Pa., he moved here from Lewistown, Pa., in 1982. Mr. Riley was a member of Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks, Lodge No. 663, Lewistown; Blue Masonic Lodge, Lewistown; past president of a Kiwanis Club and Lewistown Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Riley, Ocala; and son, Clifford O. Riley, Lewistown, Pa.

Everett W. Shepherd, 71
NASHVILLE, Mich. — Everett W. Shepherd, 71, a welder for Defoe Shipyard, Bay City, Mich., died Friday, Dec. 26, 2000, at Veterans Administration Medical Center, Gainesville.
Mr. Shepherd was a native of Clayton, Ill. He was a attended Peace United Methodist Church, Nashville and was a member of the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Beulah Yaste, Nashville; sons, Harry Shepherd, Florida and Frank Shepherd, West Branch, Mich.; daughters, Dena Williams, Bay City, Lois Quinan, West Branch, Linda Boyer, New Market, Ala., Peggy Arnold, Reddick, Pat Graves, Elmwood, Ind., Sherrie Passmore, Hastings and Barbara Yaste, Ocala; brother, Richard Shepherd, Clayton; 21 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis Synrex, Ocala; daughters, Janine Cunningham, Auburn, Maine, Jackie Henne, Pennsylvania and Vicki Synrex, Ocala; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Roy L. Weaver, 76
BEVERLY HILLS — Roy Lewis Weaver, 76, a retired dental lab owner and operator, died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2001, at Life Care Center of Citrus County.
A native of Central City, Pa., he moved here from Johnstown, Pa., 15 years ago. Mr. Weaver was a member of the American Legion Post No. 7 in Inverness; Citrus County Art League; Citrus County Watercolor Club; and the Ocala Art Group. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was Lutheran.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Anne K. Weaver, Beverly Hills; son, Timothy A. Weaver, Wheeling, W.Va.; daughters, Suzanne Wojcik, Peachtree City, Ga., and Sally Hartory, Mentor, Ohio; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

GAINESVILLE — Fred B. Witzork, 90, a retired construction estimator, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at Oaks Rehabilitation Center.
A native of New York City, he moved to Ocala from Silver Spring, Md., in 1916. Mr. Witzork served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his nephew, Robert Hoag, Daytona Beach.

BELLEVIEW — Donald L. Carter, 76, a retired steel industry machinist, died, Friday, Jan. 12, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wheelsburg, Ohio, he moved to Belleview from Portsmouth, Ohio 10 years ago. Mr. Carter was Episcopal. He was a member of the Ocala Shrine Club.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Esther H. Carter, Chickasha, Okla.; daughters, Donna C. Melton, Chickasha, and Janice C. Evans, Chickasha, Lois C. Babina, Vandalia, Ohio, and Pamula C. Vincent, Vandalia; son, Brian D. Carter, Rockwood, Mich.; sister, Marjorie Gellis, Henderson, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Mr. Carter was preceded in death by a son, Dennis R. Carter.

A native of Haverhill, Mass., he moved to Crystal River from Nutley, N.J., five years ago. Mr. Croteau was Catholic. He was member of Elks Lodge No. 1290 in Nutley.
Survivors includes his daughter, Diane G. Moore, Crystal River; son, Edmond Croteau, Kearny, N.J.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband, John Domutz, Beverly Hills; sons, John M. Domutz, Detroit, and George W., Domutz, Glenview, Ill.; sister, Marion K. Jackson, Bayside, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
