OCALA -- Sara V. Ethridge, 93, a homemaker, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Marion House Healthcare Center.
A native of Forsyth County, Ga., she came here from Moultrie, Ga., in 1937. Mrs. Ethridge was a member of Berean Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Dorothy L. Conner, Jacksonville; son, Jack E. Ethridge, Ocala; sister, Martha Perry, Ocala; brother, Clint Reaves, Portsmouth, Va.; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde E. Ethridge.

SILVER SPRINGS -- Helen Lillian Goldstick, 79, a retired administrative assistant for the federal government, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, at Surrey Place of Ocala.
A native of Charlevoix, Mich., she came to Silver Springs from Gordonsville, Va., in 1981. She was Jewish, a U.S. Coast Guard service member and a member of the Marion County Audobon Society. She was also named environmentalist of the month by the Star-Banner in April 1991.
Survivors include a niece, Ellen Goldstick, Winthrop, Mass.

BELLEVIEW -- Charles "Joe" Grove, 83, a retired anglesmith for Bethem Steel, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Green Springs, W.Va., he came to Belleview from Baltimore 23 years ago. Mr. Grove was Baptist and an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Juanita Grove, Belleview; daughter, Barbara Richardson, Leesburg; sister, Charlotte Cleland, Hagerstown, Md.; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

A native of Kyle, S.D., she came to Silver Springs from Lansing, Mich., in 1986.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Hartwig, Charlotte, Mich., and Michael Hartwig, Christmas; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

MELROSE -- Raymond Holder, 85, a retired merchant seaman, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001, at Shands AGH Hospital in Gainesville.
A native of Hollywood, Ala., he came to Dunnellon in 1990. Mr. Holder was Protestant and a World War II, Korean and Vietnam War Merchant Marine veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Jo M. Holder, Melrose; stepsons, Choc Mathews, Jacksonville, and Johnny Mathews, Melrose; stepdaughters, Becky Fredriksson, Chipley, Martha Mathews, Seattle, and Josie McDaniel, Florahome; 14 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Theodore C. Bell; and son, Larry N. Bell.

A native of Atlanta, he moved here from Cumming, Ga., six years ago. Mr. Ellington was a member of College Road Baptist Church, a Shriner, and member of the Masonic Lodge.

HOMOSASSA SPRINGS — John Jonescu Jr., 87, a retired body shop supervisor, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2001.
A native of Romania, he moved here from Detroit 27 years ago. Mr. Jonescu retired from Ford Motor Company of Dearborn, Mich., after 36 years of service. He was a member of American Veterans. Mr. Jonescu served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was Romanian Orthodox.
