OCALA — Rita T. Fortin, 74, a retired inspector for General Motors, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at home.
A native of Lille, Maine, she moved here from South River, N.J., seven years ago. Miss Fortin was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Survivors include her brothers, Edmond Fortin, Newport, Maine, Adrien Fortin and Patrick Fortin, both of Ocala, Philip Fortin and Donat Fortin, both of Winter Haven; sisters, Martha Kubalak, Columbus, Ohio, and Jeanne Kinsley, Ocala.

Hartley A. Harrison, 76
LEESBURG — Hartley Augustus Harrison, 76, a retired partner of Quest Advertising in Cleveland, Ohio, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Lakeport Square Nursing Home.
A native of Monroe, Wis., he moved to Leesburg from Oak Run in 1999. Mr. Harrison was a graduate of Wooster College. He served in U.S. Army.
Survivors include his son, Michael A. Harrison, Yuma, Ariz.; daughters, Carol E. Mallet, Great Missenden Bucks, England, and Katheryn J. Mechling, North Canton, Ohio; sister, Arlene H. Wall, Orange City; three grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.

OCALA — Freda L. Hill, 74, a homemaker, died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Bryan, Texas, she moved here from Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1984.
Survivors include her husband, Rex Hill, Ocala; and daughters, Lore Hill, Ocala and Laura Hill, Dallas.

Ray W. Lloyd, 65
DUNNELLON — Ray Walters Lloyd, 65, a retired medical supplies delivery man, died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Lloyd was a native of Toledo. He was a volunteer firefighter for Marion County Fire and Rescue, Station No. 5, in Dunnellon. Mr. Lloyd served in the U.S. Army from 1958 until 1964.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Lloyd, Dunnellon; daughters, Joyce Taylor, Orlando, Didi Lloyd and Patty Lloyd, both of Sebring; sisters, Nancy Dutton, Findley, Ohio, and Madeline Herrman, Girard, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

OCALA — Fred "Gene" Mingle, 78, a truck driver, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at home.
A native of Tennessee, he moved here from Hudson in 1995. Mr. Mingle was a member of Angela Santos Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4781. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Albina Mingle, Ocala; stepdaughter, Bonnie Bender, California; stepsons, Alexander W. Bender, Chicago, Kenneth J. Bender, Wisconsin, Charles F. SPARR — Joseph N. Vanek, 81, a retired security guard, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Huntington, N.Y., he moved here from West Palm Beach 19 years ago. Mr. Vanek served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was Jehovah's Witness.

OCALA — Gilbert E. Watters, 73, a retired foreman for Southern Bell, died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Ocala Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Brewer, Maine, he moved here from Sebec, Maine, in 2000. Mr. Watters served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He was preceded in death by his son, Michael Watters.
Survivors include his wife, Emily Watters, Ocala; brother, Richard Watters, Fort Lauderdale; and sister, Barbara Mainor, Montgomery, Ala.
