OCKLAWAHA — Jeffrey Michael Held, 41, an automotive body paint and repairman, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of St. Petersburg, he moved here from Cleveland, Tenn., two years ago. Mr. Held was a U.S. Air Force veteran.
Survivors include his mother, Karen Holmes, Ocklawaha; sons, Khristopher M. Held and Jason M. Held, both of Ocklawaha; and sisters, Patricia Fredericks, Ocklawaha, Terry M. Harrington and Laura Thompson, both of Belleview.

A native of Greene County, Pa., she moved here from Tampa in 1992. Mrs. Hill was an avid bridge player.

BEVERLY HILLS — Howard R. Holloway Jr., 56, a roofer, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001.
A native of Brockton, Mass., he moved here from Middleboro, Mass., in 1998. Mr. Holloway served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He was Catholic.

A native of Mason County, W.Va., he moved here from Clearwater in 1981. Mr. Rogers was owner and operator of Roger's Upholstery Shop. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Rogers served in the U.S. Army. He was Methodist.

OCALA — Edgar A. Sowell Jr., 74, retired from the U.S. Marine Corps, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, he moved here from Harmony, N.C., in 1994. Mr. Sowell was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8083 in Belleview. He served in the Marines during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Wylie J. Sowell, Ocala; stepdaughter, Jamie L. Hassell, Portsmouth, Va.; sons, David F. Sowell and Greg P. Sowell, both of Fort Lauderdale; and one grandchild.

GAINESVILLE — Scott Matthew Baird, 23, a law enforcement officer with Gainesville Police Department, died Monday, Feb. 12, 2001.
A native of West Palm Beach, he moved to Gainesville from Ocala in 1995. Mr. Baird was a graduate of Lake Weir High School and attended Santa Fe Community College and University of Florida. He enjoyed reading, music and watching movies. Mr. Baird was Catholic.
Survivors include his father, Sonny Baird, Orlando; mother, Kelly F.
