BELLEVIEW — Bruce R. Moody, 87, a retired owner of Belleview Hardware, and former cattleman and farmer, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Moody was a native of Summerfield and was a member of Belleview United Methodist Church; Belleview Masonic Lodge 95 F&AM; and American Legion Post 284. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth W. Moody, Belleview; daughter, Jenny Gwaltney, Belleview; stepdaughters, Charleen Yarborough, Miami, and Jan Blanchard, Raleigh, N.C.; stepson, Hugh Perry, Austin, Texas; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

OCALA — Jane P. Vose, 90, a homemaker, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Palm Garden Nursing Home in Ocala.
A native of Paisley, Scotland, she came here from Orlando in 1981.
Survivors include her son, Allen D. Vose, Kingswood, Texas; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jack R. Williams, 77
CRYSTAL RIVER — Jack R. Williams, 77, a retired electrician for a power company, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001.
A native of Marietta, Ohio, he came to Crystal River from Brooklyn, Mich., in 1980. Mr. Williams was a U.S. Coast Guard Reserve and U.S. Navy veteran. He also was a member of the Inglis Volunteer Fire Department, Moose Lodge in Inverness and the Lions Club in Inglis.
Survivors include his daughters, Terry Etter, Jonesborough, Tenn., Lucy Hounshell, Inglis, Sandy Lyons, Mechanicsville, Md., and Gay Thacher, Brooklyn; sisters, Pearl Edwards and Darlene Dayton, both of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Jean C. Beach, 81
SUMMERFIELD — Jean C. Beach, 81, a homemaker, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Kingston, N.Y., she moved here from Stanford, N.Y., 50 years ago. Mrs. Beach was an active member of Belleview United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She volunteered at Munroe Regional Medical Center and with the Sheriff's Deputy Reserve.
She was preceded in death by her son, William Beach.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Clifford Beach, Summerfield; daughters, Barbara Barone, Summerfield, and Bonnie Peavy, Wildwood; sister, Mary A. Johnson, Owego, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Bertram A. Carroll, 78
OCALA -- Bertram A. Carroll, 78, a retired plumbing contractor, died Saturday, Feb. 24, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center. A native of London, he moved here from Matamoras, Pa., in 1989. Mr. Carroll was a member of Druid Hills United Methodist Church in Ocala, Plumber's Union Local No. 723, and the British Army King's Royal Rifle Corps. Active in civic and community affairs, he was the Past Master of Matamoras Masonic Lodge No. 732 F&AM and Past Exalted Ruler of Port Jarvis Elks Lodge No. 645. He served as social director of the Paddock Park South apartments. Golfing and hunting were two of his favorite pastimes.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Rose Carroll, Ocala; son, Thomas Carroll, Buffalo, N.Y.; daughters, Lesley R. Altmannsberger, Bossier City, La., and Patricia A. Loux and Tracy L. Hemmerie, both of Gilbertsville, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

OCALA — William J. Jennett, 80, a supervisor for Eaton Corp., died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Glascow, Scotland, he moved here 15 years ago. Mr. Jennett was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Theresa J. Jennett.
He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Fessenden, Ocala; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

SUMMERFIELD — Leola J.H. Means, 82, a retired teacher, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Palatka, she was a longtime resident of Summerfield. Mrs. Means was a member of Mount Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her sister, Rosa Hart, Dade City; and brother, Elbert James, Summerfield.

GAINESVILLE — John F. Newsom, 79, retired, died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001.
A native of Charleston, S.C., he moved here from Sunland, Calif., 30 years ago. Mr. Newsom retired from Operating Engineers of Southern California after 25 years of service. He was a Christian.
He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy J. Newsom.

A native of Ocala, he moved to Jacksonville in 1959. Mr. Sasser was Baptist. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

A native of Lawtey, he was a longtime resident of Bradford and Clay counties. Mr. Torode was a Methodist and a member of Shrine Club, Rotary Club, Petroleum Marketers Association, American Legion and Bradford Masonic Lodge.
