OCALA — Sue Moore Evans, 99, a retired hotel manager, died Monday, March 5, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Sharon, Ga., she moved here from Fort Pierce in 1969. Mrs. Evans was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala.
She is survived by her son, Jim Evans, Ocala; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Stella Foster, 79, a retired cafeteria supervisor, died Saturday, March 3, 2001.
A native of Ionia, Mich., she moved here from Flint, Mich., in 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Eunice Eisenacher, Flint; sister, Berneta Gilles, Lakeland; seven grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

CRYSTAL RIVER — Stella Elizabeth Hacking, 104, a homemaker, died Sunday, March 4, 2001.
A native of New Bedford, Mass., she moved here from Holliston, Mass., in 1990. Mrs. Hacking was a member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian in Crystal River.
Survivors include her daughters, Gladys E. Dobija, Greenfield, Mass., Ruth E. Phipps, Cape Coral, Phyllis A. Phipps, Saco, Maine, Marion T. Kramer and Eleanor M. Watts, both of Crystal River; sister, Mildred Santer, New York; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Carl W. Kirby, 79
OCALA — Carl W. Kirby, 79, a retired flight engineer, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at his home.
A native of Dunn, N.C., he moved here from Sebring one year ago. Mr. Kirby was employed by Eastern Airlines from 1948 until 1963. He retired from Pan American Airlines. Mr. Kirby served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was Presbyterian.
He is survived by his son, Timothy M. Kirby, Ocala; and two grandchildren.

OCALA — Frank Martins, 64, owner of Martins Used Cars Inc., died Thursday, March 1, 2001, in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
A native of San Paulo, he moved here 20 years ago. Mr. Martins was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church.

A native of Sand Point, Idaho, she moved here from Ohio in 1946. Mrs. Mills was a member of Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie McCranie.
Survivors include her husband, Richard C. Mills, Lynne; daughter, Janet A. Pohlers, Ocala; sons, Robin Stewart Mills, Ocala, and Phillip Charles Mills; Lynne; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Joyce J. Otero, 75, a retired controller for Maurice Electric, died Friday, March 2, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Wilmington, N.C., she moved here from Vienna, Va., in 1992. Mrs. Otero attended Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.

MORRISTON — Theodore "Ted" Daniel Piper, 74, a retired carpenter for Dade County School Board, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at his home.
A native of Mackinaw, Ill., he moved here from Key Largo in 1992. Mr. Piper served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Florence M. Ray, Miami; son, Kevin M. Piper, Cudjoe Key; daughter, Yevette Frazier, Homestead; and four grandchildren.

DUNNELLON — C.A. "Red" Register, 81, retired owner and operator of B&R Body Shop, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Crystal River Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Cochran, Ga., he moved here from Atlanta in 1969. Mr. Register was a member of First Baptist Church of Inglis; Disabled American Veterans, Homosassa; and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Inglis. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Marian Register, Dunnellon; daughters, Janice Darsey, Centerville, Ga., and Linda Winn, Dunnellon; son, Larry Register, Crystal River; sisters, Marie McCook, Macon, Ga., Artense Tarquine, St. Augustine and Nell Bryant, Perry, Ga.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

CITRUS SPRINGS — Nada K. Safreed, 95, a retired seamstress for Singer Sewing Machine Co., died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Surrey Place Convalescent Center in Lecanto.
A native of Wayne, W.Va., she moved to Florida in 1977. Mrs. Safreed was a member of First Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Safreed; and sons, James F. Pridemore, Lyle Pridemore Jr., and Harold L. Pridemore.
Survivors include her sons, Robert Pridemore, Crystal River and Donald Pridemore, Citrus Springs; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

SUMMERFIELD — Samuel Shannon Sr., 72, a retired heavy equipment operator for the U.S. Government, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Shannon was a native of Belleview. He was an active member of Summerfield Baptist Church. Mr. Shannon served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Mary A. Shannon, Summerfield; sons, Carl E. Shannon Sr., Moss Bluff, Samuel H. Shannon Jr., Dale City, Va., James W. Shannon, Two Egg, Virgil D. INVERNESS — Robert Gordon Ward Sr., 69, a heavy equipment operator, died Friday, March 2, 2001.
A native of Dothan, Ala., he moved here from Tampa 46 years ago. Mr. Ward served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He was Presbyterian.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy B. Ward, who died on Jan. 2, 1995.
Survivors include his son, Robert G. Ward Jr., Clewiston; daughter, Cheryl King, Inverness; mother, Maude N. Ward, Tampa; brothers, Richard Ward, Mineral Bluff, Ga., Jack Ward and James Ward, both of California, Charles Ward and Paul Ward, both of Tampa; and four grandchildren.
