OCALA — John W. Barr, 84, a retired business owner, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Virburnum, Mo., he moved here from Albany, Ind., in 1997. Mr. Barr was a member of Ocala West United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Mary K. Barr, Ocala; daughters, June K. Settle, Clarksville, Ind., Carol J. Swanson, Plainfield, Ind., and Nancy A. Barr, Louisville, Ky.; and four grandchildren.

OCALA — Joseph A. Barros, 77, a retired restaurant manager, died Monday, March 4, 2001, at Marion House.
A native of Boston, he moved here from New Bedford, Mass., in 1987. Mr. Barros was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Barros, Ocala; son, Stephen Barros, Boston; stepsons, Steve Santos, Seminole, Peter Santos and Robert Santos, both of Ocala; sister, Mary DeAndrade, South Carver, Mass.; and five grandchildren.

OCALA — Evelyn W. Buckley, 88, a retired dog breeder, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Schuyler County, N.Y., she moved here from New York in 1979. Mrs. Buckley was a member of Belleview Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses.
She is survived by her sister, Ruth Comfort, New York, and brother, Richard Rhynehart, Florida.

SPARTANBURG, S.C. — Sophia J. Caskey, 82, a homemaker, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001.
A native of Ecorse, Mich., she was a former resident of Ocala. Mrs. Caskey was Catholic.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Forest W. Caskey.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn Carey, Spartanburg.

OCALA — B.F. Jack Cline, 78, a retired real estate agent, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at his home.
A native of Mississippi, he moved here in 1988. Mr. Cline served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a glider pilot on D-Day, June 6, 1944. Mr. Cline was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Cline, Ocala; sons, Douglas A. Cline, Magnolia Springs, Texas, and Dr. Jack A. Cline, Fort Lauderdale; and two grandchildren.

Alvin W. Dinnell, 90
CITRA — Alvin W. Dinnell, 90, a retired foreman for a canning company, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at New Horizon Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Cruthersville, Mo., he moved here from Benton Harbor, Mich., 33 years ago. Mr. Dinnell was a member of First Baptist Church of Citra. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. Dinnell enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vola M. Dinnell.
Survivors include his daughters, Carolyn A. Dinnell, Citra, Kathy A. Kellogg, Ashland, Ky., Harriette L. Brown, Coal Grove, Ohio, and Patricia G. Head, Island Grove; son, Michael W. Dinnell, Berrien Springs, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Dorothy "Dottie" K. Ellis, 78, a retired secretary, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Macon, Ga., she moved here from Miami in 1990. Mrs. Ellis retired from Home Insurance Company of Coral Gables, after 20 years of service. She was a member of Wyomina Park Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Clyde F. Ellis, Ocala; son, Duane K. Ellis, Ocala; and three grandchildren.

OCALA — Anna M. Faltus, 81, a retired mortgage loan processor for Citicorp., died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Mnichovice, Czech Republic, she moved here from Washington, D.C., in 1989. Mrs. Faltus served in the British Army during World War II. She was Lutheran.
She is survived by her daughter, Vera A. Bernard, Ocala.

OCALA — Alex Feacher, 65, a contractor, died Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2001, at his home.
Mr. Feacher was a native of Monticello. He was a member of St. Paul's African Methodist Episcopal Church. Mr. Feacher served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his daughter, Regina Sims, Daytona Beach; and son, Stephon Hicks, New York City.

INVERNESS — Matthew E. Fowler, 67, an insurance agent, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at his home.
A native of Staten Island, N.Y., he moved to Citrus County in 1988. Mr. Fowler was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He served in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Fowler, Homosassa; and stepsons, Michael Escalet, Denton, Texas, William Livingston and Robert Livingston, both of Schenectady, N.Y.

A native of Whitesburg, Ky., he moved here from Washington, D.C., in 1974. Mr. Hale was an active member of First Baptist Church of Belleview. He was a retired colonel in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Hale enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Donna A. Hale, Belleview; mother, Sabina C. Hale, Belleview; son, Alan Hale, Belleview; sister, Mary E. Bratton, Stamping Ground, Ky.; and three grandchildren.

WEIRSDALE — Virginia Garnett Hartenstein, 79, a retired school teacher, died Tuesday, March 6, 2001.
A native of Baltimore, she moved here from Cranford, N.J., in 1972. Mrs. Hartenstein was past president of Dunnellon Garden Club, Depression Glass Club, Parent and Teachers Association, member of Weirsdale Presbyterian Church, and a round dance caller.
Survivors include her husband, Bernard L. Hartenstein, Weirsdale; daughters, Jane Johnson, Edgewater, Susan Nann, Downingtown, Pa., Melody Buzard, Umatilla and Iona Stiver, Weirsdale; sisters, Louise Sunstorm and Alice Cole, both of Baltimore; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mr. Mann was a native of Live Oak. He was a member of Mount Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church. Mr. Mann served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his sons, Booker T. Mann, Williston, Jesse L. Mann, Sarasota, Herman L. Mann and Ronnie B. Mann, both of St. Petersburg; daughters, Betty J. OCALA — Lester C. Miller, 82, a retired mechanical engineer, died Monday, March 5, 2001.
A native of Antigo, Wis., he moved here from Sussex, Wis., in 1982. Mr. Miller retired from E.R. Wagner, after 45 years of service. He was a member of Marion Oaks Presbyterian Church. Mr. Miller enjoyed fishing and sports cars.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola Miller.
