A native of Texas, she moved here from St. Petersburg two years ago. Mrs. Berteau was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, American Orchid Society, Bonsai Society of America and St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her son, Daniel L. Jopling, Dunnellon; daughter, Sarah A. Barden, Mentor, Ohio; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

DUNNELLON — Kenneth D. Brasier Sr., 87, a retired nuclear energy inspector for Texas Instruments Inc., died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Palm Garden of Ocala.
A native of Taunton, Mass., he moved here in 1976. Mr. Brasier was a member of Blue Lodge F&AM.

CRYSTAL RIVER — Junior Canley, 67, a cement truck driver for Southdown Inc., died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, at home.
A native of Chipley, he was a longtime resident of Crystal River. Mr. Canley was a member of Church of God by Faith in Crystal River. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 until 1956.

OCALA — Jerry L. Carter, 54, owner and operator of Carter's Pest Control, died Friday, June 29, 2001.
A native of Frostproof, he moved here from Avon Park 17 years ago. Mr. Carter was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and Marine Corps League. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. Mr. Carter received the Purple Heart. He was Baptist.

Donald Clemmons, 80
OCALA — Donald "Red" Clemmons, 80, a retired general manager for Lyles Motor Co., died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Ocala, he was a lifelong resident of Marion County. Mr. Clemmons was a member of Ocala Elks Lodge No. 286, Golden Hills Country Club and Warbirds of America. He served as a flight instructor in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Clemmons was Methodist.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nelle B. Clemmons.
He is survived by his sisters, Dorothy C. Brandes, Alpharetta, Ga., and Bettye W. Henderson, Thomasville, Ga.

MORRISTON — Bray "Bud" H. Damron, 70, a retired fleet manager for the Marion County Sheriff's Office, died Thursday, July 5, 2001, at home.
A native of Miami, he moved here from Margate 24 years ago. Mr. Damron was a member of National Hot Rod Association, Racer for Christ and attended Ocala Word of Faith Church. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.

A native of Pennsylvania, he moved to Central Florida from Michigan in 1970. Mr. Hamel was a lifetime member of the Masons. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Hamel was Protestant.

HERNANDO — Thomas A. Mount Sr., 78, a retired police officer, died Wednesday, July 4, 2001, in Inverness.
A native of Changewater, N.J., he moved here from Belvidere, N.J., in 1986. Mr. Mount was a member of American Legion, Masonic Lodge, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4252. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was the recipient of the World War II Victory, American Service, Asiatic Pacific Service and Good Conduct medals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen K. Mount, who died on Oct. 3, 1990.
Survivors include his sons, Thomas Mount Jr. and Joseph Mount, both of Inverness; daughters, Bonnie Hoover and Kelly L. Adkins, both of Hernando; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
