HOLDER — Marcella Josephine Taflinger, 76, a homemaker, died Monday, July 9, 2001, in Inverness.
A native of Sidney, Ohio, she moved here in 1962. Mrs. Taflinger was a member of Church of the Nazarene.
Survivors include her son, Harry F. Taflinger, Hernando; brother, Roger Allen, DeGraff, Ohio; sisters, Eve Elass, Ocala and Creva Thompson, Port St. Joe; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan M. Taflinger, who died on May 26, 1994.

Shirley A. White, 51
OCALA — Shirley Ann White, 51, a homemaker, died Sunday, July 15, 2001.
A native of Starke, she moved here four years ago. Mrs. White was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa Harden, Raiford; son, Cormol Y. Thornton, Raiford; mother, Mildred Copeland, Ocala, brother, James A. Moody, Silver Springs; sister, Mary L. Hennessy, Ocala; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Allen Varnes.

OCALA — John G. Wood, 45, a mason, died Monday, July 16, 2001.
Mr. Wood was a native and a lifelong resident of Ocala. He was a member of Community Harvest Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Wood, Ocala; daughter, Jennifer W. Stuart, Summerfield and Katie L. Wood, Ocala; sister, Elaine L. Wood, Summerfield; brother, Eddie Wood, Bascom; and one grandchild.

OCALA — Yolande Y. Bolivar, 81, a homemaker, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Paris, she moved here from Tampa in 1997. Mrs. Bolivar was Catholic.
Survivors include her daughter, Cristina Bolivar-Steere, Ocala; and son, Juan C. Bolivar, Ocala.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Juan L. Bolivar.

Euriah Colding, 85
CITRA — Euriah Colding, 85, a retired laborer, died Saturday, July 14, 2001, at Palm Garden of Ocala.
Mr. Colding was a native and lifelong resident of Citra. He was a member of Willow Plant Missionary Baptist Church. Mr. Colding served in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his brother, Elijah J. Colding, Tampa; sisters, Inez Henderson, Ocala, Alice Broom, Dorothy Munerlyn and Margerine Daymon, all of Citra.

Mary E. Clunis, 84
OCALA — Mary Elizabeth Clunis, 84, a homemaker, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at her home.
A native of Keene, N.H., she moved here from Glen Falls, N.Y., in 1990. Mr. Clunis was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and Glen Falls Hospital Guild.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary P. Clunis, Ocala; son, Michael Clunis, Chatham, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Durward G. Clunis.

Survivors include her husband, Matthew Edwards, Ocala; sisters, Frankie Griffin, Orlando and Mildred Singleton, Riveria Beach; and brothers, B.C. Gunter, Dunnellon, and Buster Herring, Silver Springs.

SPARR — Willie Ray Fleming Jr., 24, a landscaper, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Shands Teaching Hospital in Gainesville.
A native of Gainesville, he was a longtime resident of Ocala.
Survivors include his son, Demondtra Fleming, Reddick; mother, Brenda J. Taylor, Sparr; sisters, Calisa Fleming and Tywanna Taylor, both of Sparr, Demetruis Taylor, Zuber and Danniell Kinsler, Fort Lauderdale; brothers, Leo Taylor and Joshua Hutchinson, both of Sparr; and grandparents, Presize Hamilton, Ocala, Lillie Taylor and Theodore Taylor, both of Sparr.

OCALA — Betty Martin, 83, an office manager, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of London, she moved here from Pennsylvania in 1978. Mrs. Martin was Protestant.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Martin, Ocala and Roy Martin, Erin, Ontario; and two grandchildren.

Beatrice Nelson, 85
BEVERLY HILLS — Beatrice Nelson, 85, a homemaker, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Life Care Center of Citrus County in Lecanto.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved here 28 years ago. Mrs. Nelson was a member of Sisterhood of Temple Beth Shalom in Beverly Hills.
Survivors include her son, Ira Nelson, Manalapan, N.Y.; daughter, Glorilyn N. Plaza, Marietta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Nelson, who died June 4, 2001.

OCALA — Otis Newman Sr., 88, retired public school custodian, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at New Horizon Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Dothan, Ala., he moved here 60 years. Mr. Newman was Baptist.
Survivors include his sons, Otis Newman Jr., Miami, Artis Newman, Vero Beach, and Aaron Newman, Ocala; daughters, Aris Taylor, Ocala, Arvilla Sharp, Melbourne, Catherine Davis and Lorene Gooding, both of Vero Beach, 28 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Joseph R. Pickering, 96
OCALA — Joseph R. Pickering, 96, a retired aircraft defense contractor, died Sunday, July 15, 2001.
A native of Jones County, Miss., he moved here from Miami in 1980. Mr. Pickering was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Masonic Lodge, American Association of Retired Persons, Retired National Association of Federal Retirees, and was a past patron of Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Pickering, Ocala; daughters, Martha F. Hancock, Soso, Miss., Barbara Jackson, Lucasville, Ohio, Betty Rollo, Marion, N.C., and Shirley Cope, Bushnell; stepdaughter, Nancy Clifford, Ocala, Carol Buckler, Archer and Mary A. Bennette, Florida; stepsons, Charles P. Unglaub, Springfield, Mass., and Roy Mathis, Johns Island, S.C.; sisters, Willie M. King, North Carolina and Eleanor Tidwell, Booneville, Miss.; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grand-
children.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Genah H. Pickering and Angie Pickering; and son, Joseph D. Pickering; and great-grandchild, Joseph Dennis Pickering III.

A native of Muskegon, Mich., she moved here from North Reddington Beach in 1982. Mrs. Smythe was Methodist.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edwin T. Smythe, Inverness.

Viola H. Whipple, 85
SALT SPRINGS — Viola H. Whipple, 85, a homemaker, died Friday, July 13, 2001, at Palm Gardens of Ocala.
A native of Montgomery, Pa., she moved here from Miami in 1962. Mrs. Whipple was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary in Salt Springs. She enjoyed traveling and gardening.
Survivors include her sons, Gleason "Jake" Whipple, Citra, Lewis R. Whipple, Watsontown, Pa., Trenton "Tony" Whipple, Silver Springs and Keith L. Whipple, Salt Springs; sister, Virginia Miller, Montgomery; 17 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.

OCALA — Theresa J. Begin, 77, a homemaker, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Ste. Monique, Quebec, she moved here from Barre, Vt., 22 years ago. Mrs. Begin was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Ladies' Auxiliary, St. Anne Society, and attended Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Paul A. Begin, Nashua, N.H.; sons, Robert J. Fournier, Ocala, Paul P. Fournier, Dothan, Ala., Michael R. Fournier, White River Junction, Vt., and Richard E. Fournier, Barre; stepsons, Joseph A. Fournier, Southport, N.C., Leo Begin, Bow, N.H.; stepdaughters, Gertrude Coy, Bakersfield, Calif., Lucienne Norway and Doris Begin, both of Nashua; brother, Emile Marcott, Ste. Monique; sisters, Yvette Fournier, Southport, Lucille Provencher and Laurence Provencher, both of Ste. Hyacinthe, Quebec; 30 grandchildren; and 34 great-grand-
children.

Thaddeus M. Colchiski, 85
OCALA — Thaddeus Michael Colchiski, 85, a retired math professor, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at his home.
A native of New Castle, Pa., he moved here from Winter Haven in 1965. Mr. Colchiski was a professor at Central Florida Community College for 25 years. He was a member of National Math Professor Association. Mr. Colchiski served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. Mr. Colchiski was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Amelia "Millie" Colchiski, Ocala; daughters, Gretchen Martin, Dunnellon and Penny Wingo, Ocala; sons, Ethan Colchiski, Tallahassee, Michael Colchiski and Evon Colchiski, both of Ocala; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
