Russell B. Duink, 79
DUNNELLON — Russell B. Duink, 79, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Duink was a native of Portland, N.Y. He was a member of Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church. Mr. Russell served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Laura "Corky" M. Duink, Dunnellon; sons, Scott Duink, Los Gatos, Calif., Douglas Duink, Tampa, and Torrey Duink, New Port Richey; daughters, Roxanne Duink, Dunnellon, and Charlene Simms, Columbia, S.C.; brothers, Max Duink, Frewsburg, N.Y., and Kenneth Duink, Sherman, N.Y.; and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church Building Fund.

Nettie E. Ekers, 89
INVERNESS — Nettie E. Ekers, 89, a homemaker, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, in Inverness.
A native of Charleston, W.Va., she moved to Inverness in 1988, from Milton, W.Va. Mrs. Ekers was a member of Faith Gospel Mission Baptist Church and she attended First Baptist Church of Hernando.
Survivors include her daughters, Rosa E. Lewis, Huntington, W.Va., Mary L. Hamper, Inverness, and Shirley M. Meadows, Milton; son, John R. Ekers, Inverness; sister, Margaret Bishop, West Virginia; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Floyd K. Ekers, and husband, John K. Ekers.

Marion F. Godwin Jr., 51
OCALA — Marion Frank Godwin Jr., 51, a retired foliage designer for Willis Nursery, died Monday, July 16, 2001.
A native of Memphis, he moved to Ocala eight years ago from Homestead. Mr. Godwin founded the Aloha Freightway Co.
He is survived by his sister, Patricia A. Willis, Ocala.

James C. Johnson, 80
BELLEVIEW — James "Jim" C. Johnson, 80, a retired machinist, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Scottsville, Ky., he moved here from Fairland, Ind., in 1982. Mr. Johnson was a member of First Baptist Church of Belleview. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda Smith, Belleview; sister, Hazel Pitchford, Scottsville; brother, Ruel Johnson, Indianapolis; four grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Warren W. Powers, 86
DUNNELLON — Warren W. Powers, 86, a retired delivery man, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.
A native of Randolph, Mass., he moved here from Cape Cod, Mass., 13 years ago. Mr. Powers was a member of Calvary Baptist Temple of Dunnellon and Rainbow Lakes Shuffleboard Club.
Survivors include his daughters, Margaret E. Wood, Dunnellon, Jeannette L. Irving, Bridgewater, Mass., Irene E. Godfrey, North Conway, N.H., and Barbara L. Dutram, East Granby, Conn.; brother, F. Randall Powers, Barnstable, Mass.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Letha M. Sanville, 78
OCALA — Letha Mae Sanville, 78, a retired cashier, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Haverhill, N.H., she moved here from Barre, Vt., in 1985. Mrs. Sanville retired from Grand Union grocery store, after 29 years. She was a member of American Legion Women's Auxiliary.
Survivors include her sons, Ernest H. Sanville Jr. and Richard E. Sanville, both of Ocala; daughters, Nancy M. Blake, Ocala, Betty J. Izor and Linda L. Pelletier, both of Barre; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mary S. Smythe, 89
INVERNESS — Mary Severy Smythe, 89, a retired secretary, died Monday, July 16, 2001, at home.
A native of Muskegon, Mich., she moved here from North Redington Beach in 1982. Mrs. Smythe was Methodist.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Edwin T. Smythe, Inverness.

Muriel E. Sterner, 93
LEESBURG — Muriel Elaine Sterner, 93, a retired supervisor with Marlboro State Hospital, died Wednesday, July 18, 2001.
A native of Newark, N.J., she moved to Leesburg from Silver Springs Shores in 1995. She was a member of Ocala Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Jane Jones, Leesburg and Lydia Sherman, Gainesville; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Robert Carron, 79
SUMMERFIELD — Robert Carron, 79, a retired interior decorator, died July 13, 2001.
A native of Milwaukee, Wis., he came here from Miami 25 years ago. Mr. Carron served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his cousins, Jo McIver, Palm Harbor and Jill Baxter, Largo.

Edgar F. Daggett, 90
WILLISTON - Edgar F. Daggett, 90, former fire chief of Rainbow Lakes Estates and a retired chauffeur for the U.S. government, died Thursday, July 19, 2001 in Ocala.
A native of Greene, Maine, he moved here from the Panama Canal Zone in 1955. Mr. Daggett served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Williston Masonic Lodge 117, a life member of the Shriners and a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, Williston.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Daggett, Williston; daughter, Betty Medeiros, Morriston; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Domenic Ferrelli, 78
OCALA — Domenic Ferrelli, 78, a retired produce manager, died Saturday, July 21, 2001.
A native of Providence, Rhode Island, he moved here from Miami in 1994. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Ferrelli was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Ferrelli, Ocala; sons, Domenic Ferrelli, Ocala, and Michael Ferrelli, Gainesville; and one grandchild.

Gilbert P. Havrilak, 77
OCALA — Gilbert P. Havrilak, 77, a retired aerospace engineer for the Lockheed Corp., died Friday, July 20, 2001.
A native of Jessup, Pa., he moved here from Chatsworth, Calif., in 1988. Mr. Havrilak served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Lodge and he was a 50—year member of the Elks Lodge. He was also a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church of Ocala.
He is survived by his sons, Paul Havrilak, Bothell, Wash., Daniel Havrilak, Dallas; daughters, Linda Mariner, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Nancy Bielaskie, Aurora, Colo.; brother, Daniel Havrilak, Scranton, Pa.; sister, Josephine Wasilchak, Jessup, Penn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

James V. Helton, 80
BELLEVIEW — James Vernon Helton, 80, a retired truck driver, died Friday, July 20, 2001.
A native of Foley, Ala., he moved here from Miami 35 years ago. Mr. Helton served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Belleview.
He is survived by his wife Ruby Helton, Belleview; daughters LaVerne Cameron, Ocala, May Dow and Joyce Phillips, both of Belleview; sisters, Viola Alwood, and Betty Berry, both of Belleview; brother, A.C. Helton, Ocala; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

SUMMERFIELD — Igor N. Kersha, 84, a former owner and operator of a Russian bookstore in New York, died Saturday, July 21, 2001.
A native of Russia, he moved here from Lakewood, N.J., 18 years ago. Mr. Kersha was a member of Rodina, a Russian American Club in Lakewood, N.J. He was Russian Orthodox.
He is survived by his wife, Anna Kersha, Summerfield; daughter, Eileen Slattery, Belleview; sons, Vadim Kersha, Branchville, N.J. , Al Kersha, Columbia, Mo.; sister, Olga Markarian, Queens, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

Donald Ramey, Jr., 53
DUNNELLON — Donald "Don" Ramey, Jr., 53, owner of Don Ramey Fencing, died Friday, July 20, 2001.
A native of Bristol, Va., he moved here from Fort Lauderdale 16 years ago. In addition to his fencing business, Mr. Ramey had also been a union carpenter for 30 years. Mr. Ramey played golf with the Merchants Golf League of Citrus Springs and was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Dunnellon.
He is survived by his wife, Anne M. Ramey, Dunnellon; mother and stepfather, Selma "Eva" Thacker and Ernest Thacker, Fort Lauderdale; daughters, Dona Marie Ramey and Christina Jean Ramey, both of Dunnellon; brothers, Jim Thacker, Fort Lauderdale, Charles Ramey, West Virginia; sisters, Eva Teer, Ann Mathews, Myra Swain and Mary Ramey, all of Virginia, and Marcilynn Brown, Georgia.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho — Anna Patricia Schoonmaker, 73, a retired licensed practical nurse, died Friday, July 20, 2001 in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
A native of Pittsburgh, Pa., she moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho three years ago. She also lived in New York and Florida. Mrs. Schoonmaker worked as an operator for the Bell Telephone Comany and as a waitress. She was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church in Walker Valley, N.Y.
Mrs. Schoonmaker was preceded in death by her son, Raymond F. Schoonmaker. She is survived by her daughters Karin O'Neal, Idaho Falls, Idaho, Lynn Moeller, St. Cloud, Mavis T. Guindon, Ocala; sons, Charles R. Miller, Ocala, Peter T. Miller, Louisville, Ky., Timothy R. Miller, Bartlett, Tenn., Mark P. Schoonmaker, North Carolina; sister, Joan Mullen, Ocala; 20 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

UMATILLA — Pearl M. Brown Webb, 88, an assistant director of medical records for Waterman Hospital in Eustis, died Saturday, July 21, 2001.
A native of Lynne, she moved to Umatilla in 1946. Mrs. Brown Webb was a member of First Baptist Church of Umatilla.
Mrs. Brown Webb is survived by her sons, Jerry Brown, Ocala, and Harry Brown, St. George Island; daughter, Joanne Pizel, Marietta, Ga.; sister, Estelle Miller, Ocala; 12 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, John S. Zachar, Beverly Hills; son, Steven Zachar, West Milford, N.J.; brother, Harold Lincks, Virginia; and two grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Marsh, Ocala; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
