Walter M. Nichols, 89
LECANTO — Walter M. Nichols, 89, a retired transportation supervisor in the school system, died Thursday, July 19, 2001, at his residence.
A native of Newark, N.J., he moved to Lecanto from Mansfield, N.J., 23 years ago. Mr. Nichols attended Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church and St. Scholastica Catholic Church. He also was a volunteer firefighter for Budd Lake Fire Department and also the founder of Budd Lake First Aid Squad.
Survivors include his daughters, Colleen LaRue, Beaumont, Texas, and Penny Lombardo, Brick, N.J.; son, Barry Nichols, Liberty Township, N.J. and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Nichols.

Mr. Connolly was a native of Joliet.

OCALA — Morris "Waxie" Wax, 86, owner and operator of Standard Dyeing and Finishing Co., died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at Life Care Center of Ocala.
A native of Atlanta, he moved here from Okeechobee in 1990. Mr. Wax served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Ann L. Wax, Ocala.

Mr. Day was a member of American Legion Post No. 284, Belleview; Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8083, Belleview; Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1014, Ocala; Yesteryears Motor Car Club, and served on the Board of Directors of Hill Top Homeowners' Association. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Mr. Day was Methodist.

Mr. Parnham was a member of Church of the Incarnation, Villages Concert Band of Lady Lake, Kingdom of the Sun Concert Band of Ocala, the Ravens Band of Ocala, former member of Masonic Harmony Lodge, and lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8083 of Belleview. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
