OCALA — Mary M. Ashcraft, 87, a retired school cafeteria worker, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Life Care Center of Ocala.
A native of Portage, Penn., she moved to Ocala from Fort Lauderdale in 1983.
Survivors include her sons Ralph Ashcraft, Ocala, and Norman Rhodes, Margate; daughters Patricia Manders, Inverness, and Hazel Murphy, Ocala; brothers Harry Kargo, Portage, and William Mitsko, Holidaysburg, Penn.; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

OCALA — F. Pearl DuBose, 77, a licensed practical nurse, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at her home.
She moved here from New Haven, Conn., in 1988. Mrs. DuBose was Protestant.
Survivors include her daughter, Barronelle Lewis, Summerfield; son, Glenn F. DuBose, Waldo, Maine; sisters, Patricia Marshall, Ocala; and Dorothy Wilson, New Haven; brothers, John Batts, New Haven, and William Batts, Boston; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

William G. Harper, 75
DUNNELLON — William G. Harper, 75, a retired steam fitter, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River.
A native of Hoboken, N.J., he moved to Dunnellon from Uniondale, N.Y., about 10 years ago. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Mr. Harper was an active member of Knights of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Joan Harper; son, William W. Harper, Bellmore, N.Y.; daughters, Patricia Sass, Mahawah, N.J., Joanne Plunkett, Madison, Wis., and Linda O'Donnell, Wayne, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

Chester G. Mattice, 62
SUMMERFIELD — Chester G. Mattice, 62, a truck driver for Jones Transfer Trucking Company for 25 years, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001.
A native of Gilboa, N.Y., he moved to Summerfield from Lake Kiowa, Texas, in 1997. A United States Marine Corps veteran, Mr. Mattice was a member of the Marine Corps League. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his wife Doris Mattice, Summerfield; daughter, Donna Miles, Richardson, Texas; and brother, Charles Mattice, New York; and three grandchildren.

OCALA — Sidney B. "Blake" Morecroft, 84, a retired advertising manager for Prentice-Hall Publishing Company, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Sylvia's House.
Born in Syracuse, N.Y., he moved to Ocala from Toms River, N.J., in 1988. An organist for Countryside Presbyterian Church, Mr. Morecroft was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran during World War II.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Judy Jacobson, Ormond Beach; stepson, Jay F. Angert, State College, Penn., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Patt Angert.

BEVERLY HILLS — Otis Parker, 88, a retired electrician, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Seven Rivers Community Hospital.
Born in Cohutta, Ga., he moved to moved to Beverly Hills from Morgantown, W.Va., 29 years ago. Mr. Parker was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 1205, Gainesville, and Gulf to Lake Baptist Church, Crystal River.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred S. Parker, Beverly Hills; and brother, Robert P. Parker, Greensboro, N.C. He was preceded in death by his sister, Etta Mae Clemmins.

SILVER SPRINGS — Jeannine M. Taylor, 60, a retired registered nurse at Ocala Regional Medical Center, died Sunday, Sept. 16, 2001, at her home.

Survivors include her husband Ronald C. Taylor, Silver Springs; sons, David Taylor, Melbourne, and Stephen Taylor, Phoenix; daughter, Jessica Somera, Coconut Creek; two brothers; one sister; two grandchildren.

Born in Michigan, he moved to Crystal River from Delray Beach 16 years ago. Mr. Teachworth was a disabled Vietnam veteran and a member of the Florida States Poets Association. He was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Gail E. Teachworth, Crystal River; daughter, Gail David, Michigan; son, Terry Teachworth, Michigan; stepson, Shane Kemprowski, Oregon; mother, Joyce Hart, Michigan; sister, Susie, Michigan; brothers, John Teachworth and Craig Hart, both of Michigan; and five grandchildren.

A native of Chicago, Mr. Vander Mey moved to Ocala from Stirling, N.J., 11 years ago. He was a member of Ocala Word of Faith and holds 17 United States patents.

A native of Shamokin, Pa., he moved here from Detroit in 1979. Mr. Berent was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 10087 in Beverly Hills. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Berent was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Emma O. Berent, Beverly Hills; and sisters, Mary B. Maurer, Coraopolis, Pa., Stella Kashuba, Mount Carmel, Pa., and Elizabeth Strickland, Reading, Pa.

SILVER SPRINGS — Billy Joe Burnett, 73, a retired hair dresser for Lamar's, died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001, at Surrey Place of Ocala.
A native of Bradshaw, Neb., she moved here from Nebraska 40 years ago. Mrs. Burnett was a member of Belleview Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sons, Bradley Burnett, Ocklawaha, David Burnett, Silver Springs, and Michael Burnett, Ocala; daughter, Shon Monroe, Belleview; sisters, Naomi Camp, Kimberling City, Mo., and Berledene Seaver, Clearwater; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon I. Burnett; and daughter, Jonelle Weitzner.

Survivors include her sons, David E. Ganceres, Ocala, James Ganceres, Jacksonville, N.C., and Isaac A. Roberts, Ocala; daughters, Mary A. Villarreal, McIntosh, Esmeralda D’Ovidio, Elisa Ganceres and Irma Ganceres, all of Ocala; brother, Jim Garza, Ocala; sister, Aurora Medina, Houston, Janie Willis, Pasadena, Texas, and Tina Kessling, Pendleton, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; and 12 great-grand- children.
