OCALA — James B. Jones, 87, a founding partner of Jones and Simpson Inc., died Friday, Sept. 14, 2001.
A native of Petoskey, Mich., he was an Ocala winter resident. Mr. Jones was past grand master of Durand Masonic Lodge, member of Mason Contractors Association of Michigan, Associated General Contractors, and Shriners, and founding member of Michigan Morgan Horse Association and Michigan Horse Show Association.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Jones, Grand Blanc, Mich.; sons, James Jones, Longview, Texas, and William Jones, Pellston, Mich.; daughters, Alice Kneipp, Brutus, Mich., and Mary S. Ladere, Fredericksburg, Va.; stepdaughters, Cindy Voss, Howell, Mich., and Roxanne McClintic, Naples; stepson, Mark Hull, Linden, Mich.; 20 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Henry W. Kuklinski, 84
OCALA — Henry W. Kuklinski, 84, a retired mechanical engineer, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001.
A native of Syracuse, N.Y., he moved here from Fort Lauderdale in 1991. Mr. Kuklinski was a member of Angela Santos Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4781. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Kuklinski was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife of 59, Kathryn Kuklinski, Ocala; sons, William F. Kuklinski, Fort Lauderdale and Richard S. Kuklinski, Red Creek, N.Y.; daughters, Barbara A. Zulinke, Sarasota, Elizabeth J. Olson, San Diego and Theresa D. Kazen, West Lake Village, Calif.; sister, Theresa Kowbell, East Syracuse, N.Y.; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Kathryn Kuntz, 82
OCALA — Kathryn Kuntz, 82, a homemaker, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001.
A native of Cleveland, she moved here from Mentor, Ohio, 17 years ago. Mrs. Kuntz was an active member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church, member of Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, a volunteer for Munroe Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Karen French, Mentor; sisters, Chris Blakeslee and Lucille Dufinetz, both of Mentor; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll Kuntz, who died Sept. 12, 1999.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Marion County.

DUNNELLON — Ralph Elmer Lane, 80, a retired aircraft supervisor for Sikorsky Corp., died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, in Ocala.
A native of Brookfeild, Conn., he moved here from Monroe, Conn., in 1980. Mr. Lane served in the U.S. Army. He was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte E. Lane, Dunnellon; son, Michael Lane, Bridgeport, Conn.; daughters, Sandra Funke, Salisbury, Md., and Barbara Lewis, Monroe; stepdaughter, Nancy Brooks, West Hurley, N.Y.; brothers, Harry Lane, West Danville, Conn., and Gordon Lane, Granville, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

Gary W. Moore, 66
OCKLAWAHA — Gary W. Moore, 66, a retired welder, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Fort Lauderdale, he moved here from Davie in 1999. Mr. Moore served in the U.S. Navy. He was Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara A. Moore, Ocklawaha; stepfather, Larry Feldman, Okeechobee; daughter, Linda Crenshaw, Atlanta; sons, Chris Moore, Fort Lauderdale, Kevin Moore and Keith Moore, both of Davie; sister, Deloris Jacger, Sebring; stepdaughters, Elizabeth Cleves, San Francisco, April Hernandez, Colorado, Marie Reynolds, Roanoke, Va., and Marlee Hernandez, Davie; stepson, Raymond Hernandez, Fort Lauderdale; and 11 grandchildren.

Henry S. Taylor, 93
OCALA — Henry S. Taylor, 93, a retired religious advertising syndicated columnist, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Oakhurst Manor Nursing Center.
A native of Madison, he moved here from Charlotte, N.C., in 1938. Mr. Taylor was a member of First United Methodist Church and past president of Florida State Golf Association. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Lilyan Taylor, Ocala; daughter, Janet Granfield, Greenville, Texas; son, John S. Taylor, Greenville, S.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Eugene Thomas Sr., 44
OCALA — Eugene Thomas Sr., 44, a supervisor, died Monday, Sept. 17, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Thomas was a native and lifelong resident of Ocala. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his son, Eugene Thomas Jr., Ocala; daughter, Rogenia Thomas, Ocala; mother, Carrier Gunter, Ocala; father, Tommy Gunter, Ocala; brothers, Samuel R. Lee, Levi Thomas, Frank Thomas, Archie Gunter and Theordore Thomas, all of Ocala; sisters, Mattie Nunn, Jacksonville, Marilyn Gordon, Reddick, Rogenia Shaw and Iceland Thomas, both of Ocala; companion, Marie Thomas, Ocala; and three grandchildren.

Hazel C. Akins, 84
OCALA — Hazel C. Akins, 84, a retired keypunch operator, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001.
A native of Malden, Mass., she moved here from Melrose, Mass., in 1979. Mrs. Akins was a member and past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 235, Dunnellon; past royal lady of Order of Amaranth Guelda Cress Court, Chapter No. 29, Ocala; and member of the Scottish Society of North Central Florida.
Survivors include her husband, Ivan D. Akins, Ocala; son, Brian T. Crowe, Peabody, Mass.; daughters, Sandra McAloney, Pembroke, Mass, Deborah A. Hoff, Ocala and Geraldine M. Neal, Lexington, Ky.; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John J. Crowe.

OCALA — Martha "Marti" Burkhard, 70, a retired bartender for Courtyard by Marriott, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at home.
A native of Bartow, she moved here from Fort Lauderdale in 1987. Mrs. Burkhard was a member of Fort King Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her son, James Brooks, Smyrna, Tenn.; daughter, Linda M. Friend, Ocala; brothers, Jessie Watson, Osteen, Robert Watson, DeLand, Corbett Watson and Ellis Watson, both of Lake Wales; sister, Betty Jo Hahn, Deland; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Burkhard.

OCALA — Watson "Gene" Davis, 50, a business owner, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001.
A native of Augusta, Ga., he moved here 13 years ago. Mr. Davis was a former member of Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Ocala. He served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his son, Gordon E. Davis, Ocala; daughters, Betty A. Atkinson, Mississippi, and Chassity Kendrick, Ocala; brothers, Julian F. Davis Jr. and Robert Davis, both of Augusta; and eight grandchildren.

HAVANA — Mary Ann Johnson Linamen, 65, a registered nurse, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, in Thomasville, Ga.
A native of Ocala, she moved to Havana in 1985. Mrs. Linamen was Lutheran.
Survivors include her sons, George E. Johnson III, Tallahassee, and Edward S. Johnson, Texas; daughter, Janette S. Duprey, Havana; brother, Charles F. Johnson, Crestview; and three grandchildren.

CITRUS SPRINGS — Marian J. Martiny, 80, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001.
A native of Milwaukee, she moved here from Germantown, Wis., in 1982. Mrs. Martiny was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Citrus Springs and Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail M. Martiny, Citrus Springs; brother, Roland Nack, Wisconsin; sisters, Joanne O'Brien, Waukeshaw, Wis., and Rita Bert, Cedarburg, Wis.; and one grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Harleth Martiny, who died April 13, 1995.

A native of Honaker, Va., he moved to Wildwood in 1972. Mr. Roman was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his stepson, Garland Bennett, Laurel, Del.; brothers, James E. Roman, Wildwood, and Ernest L. Roman, Tallahassee; and sisters, Dixie Ruzzo, Mildred Beaudoin and Elizabeth "Betty" Smith, all of Wildwood.

SILVER SPRINGS — Charles E. Yearwood Sr., 64, owner and operator of a construction company, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Madisonville, Tenn., he moved here from Homosassa in 1994. Mr. Yearwood was Protestant.
Survivors include his daughters, Sherry K. Heinzman, Fort Wayne, Ind., and Tina Wade, Daytona Beach; sons, Charles E. NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — A. Richard Clark, 55, an employee of Merchant Tire Store, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001.
Mr. Clark was a native of Auburn, N.Y. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam.
Survivors include his sons, Timothy Clark and Jeffrey Clark, both of Auburn; parents, Royce and Emma Clark, Ocala; sisters, Carol Gallo-Rogers, Tennessee, and Anna Stone, Florida; and brother, R. Douglas Clark, Marsellus, N.Y.

A native of Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he moved here from Houston in 1988. Mr. Conner was a member of National Order of Battlefield Commission; Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 8201, Rainbow Lakes Estates; and Masonic Lodge No. 163. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Hilda M. Conner, Dunnellon; daughters, Katherine Bryant, Reading, Pa., and Sheryl Conner, Gainesville; son, John M. Conner, Daytona Beach; brother, Robert Conner, Churchville, N.Y.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
