OCALA — Philip Fred Hooker, 81, a business owner, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at home.
A native of Bradford, Pa., he moved here from Pompano Beach in 1995. Mr. Hooker was a member of the Masons. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Hooker was Presbyterian.
Survivors include his wife, Sybil Hooker, Ocala; son, Philip K. Hooker, Madison, Wis.; and one grandchild.

BEVERLY HILLS — Rose F. Morrow, 87, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, in Crystal River.
A native of Michigan, she moved here from Plymouth, Mich., 33 years ago. Mrs. Morrow was a member of Newberg Methodist Church at Arbor Trail in Michigan.

OCALA — Richard Allen Pearsall Sr., 67, a cost analyzer for AT&T Bell Laboratory, died Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2001, at his residence.
A native of Staten Island, N.Y., he moved here from Flanders, N.J., in 1991. Mr. Pearsall served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.

FORT McCOY — Frank M. Stoddard, 87, a retired salesman for Ford Motor Co., died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Birmingham, Ala., he moved here in 1935. Mr. Stoddard attended Forest Baptist Church.

CALHOUN, Ga. — Philomena "Phyllis" Marie Worthley, 57, a licensed practical nurse, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2001, at home.
A native of Cookeville, Tenn., she was a resident of Ocala before moving to Calhoun. Mrs. Worthley was Catholic.

Joseph Catallo Sr., 75
SEMINOLE — Joseph Catallo Sr., 75, a retired mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, in Seminole.
A native of Orange, N.J., he recently moved to Seminole from Ocala. He had lived here since 1992. Mr. Catallo was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He served in the merchant marines and, during World War II, in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his sons, Edward J. Catallo, Millburn, N.J., and Joseph Catallo Jr., Beaver Dam, N.Y.; daughter, Patricia Catallo, Seminole; brothers, George Catallo, Ponte Vedra Beach, and John Catallo, Springfield, N.J.; sisters, Rita Lewis, Toms River, N.J., and Joan Milbauer, Berkeley Heights, N.J.; and six grandchildren.

CITRA — Mary A. Fraley, 78, a homemaker, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at Oakhurst Manor in Ocala.
A native of Sayre, Pa., she came to Citra from North Carolina in 1987. Mrs. Fraley was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church in Citra and the Sweet Adelines. She also served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include her husband, Douglas M. Fraley, Citra; daughter, Rita Briggs, Charlotte; sons, Danny Fraley, Little Rock, Ark. and Alan L. A native of Lansing, Mich., she moved to Silver Springs from Miami in 1956. Mrs. Gillette was a member of First Baptist Church, and a member and former officer of the Ocala Moose Lodge.

OCKLAWAHA — William D. Jones Jr., 53, a retired truck driver for Jenkins Transportation, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001.
A native of Naugatuck, Conn., Mr. Jones came here from Summerfield six months ago. He was a member of St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church in Belleview and the Knights of Columbus No. 8012 in Belleview.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife of 31 years, Mary Ann Jones, Ocklawaha; daughters, Lois Jewett, Ocklawaha, and Bridget Antunes, Naugatuck, Conn.; brother, Terrence Jones, Brooksville; sisters, Elizabeth Rice, Naugatuck, and Patricia Cosgrove, Titusville; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

BEVERLY HILLS — Michael Persky, 85, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, the result of a motor vehicle accident in Hudson. He was a life insurance salesman.
A native of Hartford, Conn., he came here from Long Island, New York, 23 years ago.
Mr. Persky was Jewish. He was a member of Citrus Masonic Lodge No. 118 F&AM.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Niven Persky, Feb. 20, 1990.

CRYSTAL RIVER — Richard C. Shaw, 78, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001 at Brentwood Health Center, Lecanto. He was building commissioner for the city of Hobart, Indiana.
A native of Gary, Ind., Mr. Shaw came here from Hobart 14 years ago.
He was past commander, charter and life member of the Hobart VFW Post 5365. He was the featured stain glass artist at the Art in the Park in 1983 and he was an avid fisherman.
Mr. Shaw was a member of St. Benedicts Catholic Church in Crystal River.
