OCALA — Gertrude A. Hicks, 96, a homemaker, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, at Palm Gardens of Ocala.
A native of Netcong, N.J., she moved here from Hollywood, Fla., in 1992. Mrs. Hicks was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Doris Crawn, Sidney, N.Y., and Joan Dauenhauer, Ocala; sons, Roy Hicks, Lincoln Park, N.J., Roger Hicks, Sanford, Dennis Hicks, Dania, and Donald Hicks, Lake Worth; sisters, Mildred Hicks and Florence Benson, both of Lake Wales, and Ruth Ernst, Laurens, S.C.; brother, Samuel Benson, Bircher Valley, N.J.; sister, Beatrice Mills, Boynton Beach; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Hicks; sons, Kenneth Hicks and Rutherford Hicks; and daughter, Rose Marie Hicks.

Alton J. Kinsey, 86
OCALA — Alton J. Kinsey, 86, a retired U.S. Air Force chief master sergeant, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, in Gainesville.
Mr. Kinsey was a native of Lowndes County, Ga. He was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Goodwin Kinsey, Ocala; son, David E. Kinsey, Georgetown, Ga.; brothers, Woodrow Kinsey, Jacksonville, and Carl Kinsey, Live Oak; sister, Clara Hughes, West Palm Beach; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son.

Willie I. Laritz, 87
DUNNELLON — Willie I. Laritz, 87, a retired registered nurse, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at Life Care Center of Citrus County in Lecanto.
A native of Castleberry, Ala., Mrs. Laritz moved here in 1989. She was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and former member of the Florida Board of Nursing.
Survivors include her son, Charles "Mike" Laritz, Dunnellon; daughters, Pamela Woodworth, Eustis, and Jennie Drake, Jacksonville; sister, Lillian Hand, Georgia; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Treatment and Research Center.

Joseph J. Lishok Sr., 77
OCALA — Joseph J. Lishok Sr., 77, a retired automotive mechanic, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Timber Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Scranton, Pa., he moved here from Paramus, N.J., in 1991. Mr. Lishok was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Navy, First Seabee Battalion, during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Lishok, Ocala; daughters, Barbra Joosten, Paramus, and Paula Eichhorn, Dumont, N.J.; son, Joseph J. Lishok Jr., Lawrenceville, Ga.; brothers, John Lishok Jr., Scranton, and Edward Lishok, Brea, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren.

Evon Mustamaa, 60
INVERNESS — Evon Mustamaa, 60, a former nursing home associate, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, in Melbourne.
A native of Detroit, she moved here from Warren, Mich., in 1983. Mrs. Mustamaa was a member of Inverness Church of God.
Survivors include her daughter, Faye Helton, Indian Harbor Beach; brothers, Dennis R. Tisler and Joseph Tisler, both of Detroit; and sisters, Shirley McNamara, Cape Coral.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlo T. Mustamaa, who died March 8, 1999.

Mary T. Noeker, 78
SILVER SPRINGS — Mary T. Noeker, 78, a homemaker, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Maspeth, N.Y., she moved here from Long Island, N.Y., 29 years ago. Mrs. Noeker attended Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, William C. Noeker, Ocala; daughters, Marion Zannit, Ocala, and Janet Sears, Port St. Lucie; sons, William J. Noeker, Ocala, Robert Noeker, Christmas, and Tom Noeker, Wurtsboro, N.Y.; brothers, Bernard Hoffman and Oscar Hoffman, both of New York; sisters, Helen Hurley, New York, and Margaret Goff, Florida; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

SUMMERFIELD — Wanda J. Oaks, 38, a former rural route carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, she moved here from Rome, Ga., a short-time ago.
Survivors include her daughter, Kelly M. Oaks, Summerfield; son, Andy Godfrey, Lindale, Ga.; sisters, Tina M. Godfrey, Kingston, Ga., and Theresa L. Anderson, Columbus; and brothers, James M. Oaks, Georgetown, Ky., and William T. Oaks, Summerfield.

INTERLACHEN — Juliana Carns Oberman, infant, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Putnam Community Medical Center.
Survivors include her parents Joe and Heather Oberman, Interlachen; brothers, Austin Gamble and Nicholas Oberman, Interlachen; sister, Alexandra Oberman, Interlachen; grandparents, Thomas and Martha Aikman, Beaver Falls, Pa., and Sid and Connie Oberman, St. Augustine; and great-grandparents, Robert and Jackie Hartlein, Interlachen, and Douglas Oberman, Orange Springs.

OCALA — Louise W. Rollman Sr., 82, a retired telephone company foreman, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Washington, D.C., he moved here from Tallahassee in 1987. Mr. Rollman was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Ocala.
Survivors include his daughter, Helen E. Rollman, Florida; son, Louis W. Rollman Jr., Florida; and five grandchildren.

Yvonne E. Saucer, 75
OCALA — Yvonne E. Saucer, 75, a retired school teacher, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2001.
A native of Fernandina Beach, she moved here in 1948. Mrs. Saucer was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist.
Survivors include her daughter, Katherine Shrum, Ocala; son, Stuart Saucer, Ocala; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mellis E. Smith, 73
CRYSTAL RIVER — Mellis E. Smith, 73, a retired U.S. Army sergeant major, died Thursday, Sept. 20, 2001, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Gainesville.
A native of Williston, he moved here from Waldo six months ago. Mr. Smith was a member of the American Legion. He was Baptist.
Survivors include his daughter, Andrea Cunningham, Crystal River; stepdaughters, Christine Sullivan, Asheville, N.C., Theresa Burton, Dunnellon, and Penelope Dunn, Ocala; stepsons, Bob Anton Jr., Radford, Va., Bruce Anton, Asheville, and Laurance Anton, Ocala; brother, Lucien C. Smith Jr., Houma, La.; and two grandchildren.

Jewell H. Theisen, 82
CITRUS SPRINGS — Jewell H. Theisen, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001.
A native of Atlanta, she moved here from Coral Gables in 1980. Mrs. Theisen was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Dunnellon, former member of Rainbow Springs Country Club's Women's Golf Association, Biltmore Women's Golf Association, Citrus Springs Homemaker's Club and was a member of the Delta Theta Tau sorority.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Mary Einwich, Citrus Springs, and George "Hank" Bower, Dunnellon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Theisen.

Michael Q. Wagner III, 82
OCALA — Michael Quiggle Wagner III, 82, a retired civilian personnel officer for the U.S. Air Force, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Philadelphia, he moved here from Spain in 1989. Mr. Wagner retired from the Air Force after 30 years of service. He was a Mason.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Rita Wagner, Ocala; sons, Hugh Wagner, Fort Worth, Texas, and Michael Q. Wagner IV, Bermuda; daughter, Donna Smith, Bermuda; and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Red Cross or Hospice of Marion County.

Stella Barry, 91
SUMMERFIELD — Stella Barry, 91, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, in Summerfield.
A native of Philadelphia, Pa., she moved to Summerfield seven years ago.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard J. Barry.
She is survived by her sister, Olga Blum, Summerfield.

Dorothy Nell F. Beard, 63
PORT ST. JOE — Dorothy "Dot" Nell Faison Beard, 63, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2001.
She was a native of Fort McCoy. Mrs. Beard attended Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a member of First Born Church of the Living God.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Roosevelt Beard Sr., Port St. Joe; daughter, Veronica Barrington, Port St. Joe; sons, Roosevelt Beard Jr., Terrell Beard and Derrick Beard, all of Fort McCoy, Herbert Beard, Carl Beard and Leonard Beard, all of Port St. Joe, and Timothy L. Beard, Tallahassee; brothers, Reginald Faison, Ocala, and Alvin Faison, Washington, D.C.; sisters, Celestine Clinkscale and Annie P. Bates, Washington, D.C.; 22 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Maxine D. Bewley, 78
OCALA — Maxine D. Bewley, 78, a retired assistant veterans service officer for 18 years, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Haxelhurst, Ga., she moved to Ocala in 1955 from Jacksonville. Mrs. Bewley was a Past Worthy Matron, Fort McCoy Order of the Eastern Star and a member of Unity Baptist Church of Anthony.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Robert Bewley, Ocala; daughters, Nancy R. Wiley and Tina Dowda, both of Ocala; son, David M. Bewley, St. Petersburg; sisters, Ella V. Eckerd, Starke, June Whelpy, St. Louis, Donna Staub, Jacksonville and Murl Edmondson, Clayton, Ind.; and brother, Evan Dykes, Plant City.

A native of Ocala, he moved from Ocala to Philadelphia in 1969. Mr. Bright was Baptist.
Survivors include his sons, Dominic Bright and Arnold Bright, both of Philadelphia; sisters, Bertha Bright and Alma Small, both of Daytona Beach, and Inez Johnson, Lake Wales; brother, Robert Bright, Ocala; and one grandchild.

OCKLAWAHA — Otto F. Broeme, 74, a retired self-employed dairy farmer, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at New Horizon Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Sherman, N.Y., he moved to Ocklawaha in 1990. Mr. Broeme was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of the VFW.
Survivors include his wife, Joann H. Broeme, Ocklawaha; son, Keith S. Broeme, Enterprise, Ala.; daughter, Cherie L. Stephenson, Panama, N.Y.; sisters, Irma Ossman, Westfield, N.Y., and Anna M. Wendland, Cattaraugus, N.Y.; and three grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Coleman, Candler; sisters, Lillie M. Adams and Mildred Vernon, both of Ocala; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
