Roy E. Payne Jr., 81
INVERNESS — Roy E. Payne Jr., 81, a retired automotive manager, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001, in Buffalo, Mo.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, he moved here from Largo in 1981. Mr. Payne served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was Methodist.
Survivors include his son, Gary C. Payne, Tampa; daughters, Bonnie Schilleman, St. Petersburg, Connie Tenaglia, Treasure Island, Helen Disken, Buffalo, and Joy Chapman, Clearwater; brothers, George Payne, Georgia, and Bob Payne, California; stepsisters, Meg Meyers and Patti Fori, both of New York; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Dorothy Payne, who died May, 13, 1979, and Margarite Payne, who died Nov. 14, 1994.

Fred W. Ritzer, 69
OCALA — Fred William Ritzer, 69, an emergency medical technician for Munroe Regional Medical Center, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at his residence.
Mr. Ritzer was a native of Jersey City, N.J. He was past president of the Air Force Sergeants Association, lifetime member of the Retired Enlisted Association and a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Mr. Ritzer served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Elaine W. Ritzer, Ocala; daughters, Kim Moore, Ocala and Jill Mullins, Dunnellon; brother, Henry Ritzer, South Deerfield, Mass.; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

David E. Stephan, 57
DUNNELLON — David E. Stephan, 57, a retired fireman for Louisville International Airport Fire and Rescue Department, died Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2001.
Mr. Stephan was a native of Louisville, Ky. He was a member of 96th Civil Engineer Squad Fire and Rescue. Mr. Stephan served in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his sister, Sharon Koch, Louisville.

DUNNELLON — Richard G. Stiverson, 73, a retired business owner, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, in Ocala.
A native of Centerville, Ohio, he moved here from Houston in 1998. Mr. Stiverson served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Stiverson was Methodist.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Stiverson, Dunnellon; sons, Sam Stiverson, Orlando, Chris Stiverson, Ebensburg, Pa., Ted Stiverson, Conroe, Texas, and Tom Stiverson, Ocala; daughter, Kimberly Stiverson, Dunnellon; brother, Jack Stiverson, LaJolla, Calif.; and four grandchildren.

OCALA — Lillie Mae Summerall, 90, a retired nurse for Lee Memorial Hospital, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Summerall was a native of Manatee. She was Jehovah's Witness.
Survivors include her daughter, Caroline Langdale, Ocala; son, Samuel Summerall, Fort Myers; and one grandchild.

OCALA — Mary E. Walker, 68, a retired secretary for Emery World Wide Air Freight, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at Ocala Regional Medical Center.
A native of Holyoke, Mass., she moved here from Springfield, Va., in 1990. Mrs. Walker was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and Top of the World Ladies Nine Hole Golf League Tournament Committee.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, William "Bill" T. Walker, Ocala; son, William Walker, Shadyside, Md.; daughter, Nancy Walker, Brookline, Mass.; sisters, Marion Burns, St. Louis, and Carol Mis, South Hadley, Mass.; and three grandchildren.

CRYSTAL RIVER — Robert W. Buchanan, 76, a retired tugboat engineer, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, at his home under the loving care of his family and Hospice.
A native of West Port, N.Y., he moved to Crystal River from Boston four years ago. Mr. Buchanan was a member of First Church of God in Crystal River.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian M. Buchanan, Crystal River; son, William D. Tefoe, Putnam, N.Y.; sisters, Kathren McGilvert and Jean O'Brien, both of Massachusetts, and Carol Buchanan, Waterford, N.Y.

REDDICK — Obe A. Cannon, 89, a retired farmer, died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001, at Oakhurst Nursing Home.
A native of Hazelhurst, Ga., he moved to Reddick from Bushnell 68 years ago. Mr. Cannon was a member of Reddick Methodist Church.

OCALA — Edward F. Galas, 65, a retired truck driver, died Monday, Sept. 24, 2001, at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida.
A native of Chicago, he came here in 1975. Mr. Galas was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and a former U.S. Army 101st Airborne service member.
Survivors include his mother, Helen Galas, Orland Park, Ill.; daughter, Gabrielle Walker, Punta Gorda; son, Gregory Galas, Ocala; sister, Dolores Loizzo, Orland Park; and four grandchildren.

OCALA — Lucy E. Goodrick, 78, a retired nursery school teacher, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Life Care Center of Ocala.
A native of Wilmette, Ill., she came here from Glenview, Ill. in 1984. Mrs. Goodrick was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church where she served as an usher and was an Altar Guild member, a member of the Ocala Women's Golf Association Nine-hole League and a Hospice Thrift Store volunteer.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Alwin Goodrick, Ocala; daughters, Patricia Raquet, Albuquerque, N.M., and Carol Kane, Ocala; son, James Goodrick, Chicago; and four grandchildren.

Charles Kiser, 81
OCALA — Charles "Charlie" Kiser, 81, a retired mechanic for Pan Am Airlines, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at Surrey Place Convalescent Center.
A native of Miami County, Ohio, he came here from Miami in 1981. Mr. Kiser was a member of St. John's Methodist Church, the Orchid Society and the Mechanist Labor Union. He also was a Army Air Corps World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Olga T. Kiser, Ocala; stepson, Randy J. Thomas, Ponce Inlet; stepdaughter, Carol O. Ferrari, Atlanta; sisters, Clara Freeman and Pearl Curtner, both of Piqua, Ohio; five step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
