DUNNELLON — Lloyd G. McClain Sr., 80, a retired foreman, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, at TimberRidge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
A native of Louisville, Ky., he moved here in 1984. Mr. McClain served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was Protestant.
Survivors include his wife, Anna McClain, Ocala; daughter, Angela Combs, Columbia, S.C.; son, Lloyd G. McClain Jr., Clearwater; sister, Gertrude Gagel, Bradenburg, Ky.; and two grandchildren.

A native of Bowdon, Ga., she moved here from Eustis two years ago. Mrs. Murdock was a member of First Baptist Church of Eustis.

OCALA — Helen Elizabeth Sherman Bernier, 80, a retired owner/operator of Family Cafe, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at Estelle's Hospice House in Ocala.
A native of Glocester, R.I., she came here from Pascoag, R.I., 16 years ago. Mrs. Bernier was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and was a World War II Women's Army Corps corporal.

A native of Detroit, he came to Marion County in 1997 before moving to Jacksonville in 2001. Mr. Tucker was a demolition frogman on the U.S.S. Williamsburg.

Mr. Beyma was a native of Milwaukee, Wis. He moved here from Milwaukee in 1972.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church and was a member with 4th degree ranking, of the Knights of Columbus.

Stewart W. Carman, 75
HOMOSASSA — Stewart William Carman, 75, died at his home Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001. He was the retired owner and operator of S.O.S. Auto Parts, Bayside, N.Y.
A native of Freeport, N.Y., Mr. Carman came to Homosassa in 1992 from Lindenhurst, Long Island, N.Y.
He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 2013 at Crystal River; the Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 15-4, Crystal River; Past commander of the New York Coast Guard Auxiliary; a National Rifle Association safety instructor; assistant manager for off-track Betting for the state of New York and was a Bay Constable for the town of Babylon, N.Y.
Mr. Carman was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. Carman, June 28, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Will Calhoun, Crystal River; a daughter, Diane Fudge, Inverness; a sister, June Petkarek, Plant City; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

FORT MCCOY — Thomas J. Dull, 90, a retired experimental engineer for J.R. Greeno Co., Cincinnati, Ohio, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Winchester, Ind., Mr. Dull came here from Cincinnati 31 years ago. He held 19 different patents.
He was a member of the Orange Springs Community Church, Orange Springs Volunteer Fire Department, and the Orange Springs Civic Club.
He is survived by a son, Rex Dull, Fort McCoy.

INVERNESS — Charles William Harden, 71, a retired corrections officer with the Marion Correctional Institute, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2001.
Mr. Harden was a native of Seffner. He came to Inverness from Dunnellon two years ago. He was Baptist. Mr. Harden was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Harden, of Inverness; sons, Jackie Harden of Louisiana, Donnie Harden and Ronnie Harden, both of Tampa and Bobbie Harden of Raiford; a daughter, Peggy Jo Harden of Lake Butler; and stepsons Paul S. Walter B. Rutland, 76
WAYNESVILLE, N.C. — Walter Blake Rutland, 76, retired after 42 years of service as a United Methodist minister primarily in the Florida Conference, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2001, at Haywood Regional Medical Center.
He had served in United Methodist churches in Marion County. He was staff member of the First United Methodist Church of Lakeland where he was a former pastor. He made his home in both Lakeland and Clyde, N.C.
The Rev. Rutland was a veteran of the U.S. Navy having served as a flight instructor.
He is preceded in death by a son, Walter Blake Rutland Jr., in 1980.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Ann Carolyn Allison Rutland; daughters, Carolyn Schmidt, Kalamazoo, Mich., Dorothy Leila Trogolo, Lakeland, Allison Soulen, Alexandria, Va.; a brother, R.E. Rutland, New Smyrna Beach; and seven grandchildren.

HOMOSASSA — Larry B. Cedar, 68, a retired truck driver, died Saturday, Oct. 6, 2001, at Crystal River Community Hospital in Crystal River.
A native of Haydenville, Ohio, he moved here from Akron, Ohio, five years ago. Mr. Cedar was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
