DUNNELLON — Benjamin F. Welsh, 94, a retired budget and supply officer for the U.S. Government, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001, in Ocala.
A native of Danville, Ill., he moved here from Indianapolis in 1995. Mr. Welsh was a member of Wilson Masonic Lodge, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Scottish Rite, and Murat Shrine.
Survivors include his daughter, Lou Ann Ross, Dunnellon; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Lucy Welsh and Mildred Welsh.

OCALA — Bobby Wells Wilson, 53, a self-employed child care provider, died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Bolivar, Miss., she moved here from Miami in 1986.

ORANGE SPRINGS — Beatrice Underwood, 68, a store manager, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001.
A native of West Virginia, she moved here from Fort Lauderdale in 1979. Mrs. Underwood worked as a manager for Handy Way in Orange Springs for 20 years.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James Underwood; Orange Springs; sons, Wesley Underwood, Orange Springs, Dale Underwood, Rick Underwood and Joe Underwood, all of Hollywood; daughter, Vicky Knowles, Orange Springs; sister, Louise Flick, Luray, Va.; and five grandchildren.

A native of Providence, R.I., she moved here from Portland, Maine, in 1998. Mrs. Candage retired from the Portland School System after 25 years. She was a Congregationalist.
She is survived by her brother, John Rossnagel, Manassas, Va.; and four grandchildren including Sherri Bast of Summerfield.

SALT SPRINGS — Pauline Cummings, 84, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001.
A native of Beach Haven, N.J., she moved here from West Palm Beach in 1990. Mrs. Cummings was Catholic.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Sanders, Salt Springs; sister, Anna Baugh, Port Salerno; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

WESTFIELD, N.J. — Leo Russell Keene III, 33, a vice president with Keefe, Bruyette and Woods Inc., has been missing and presumed dead since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
A native of Sulphur, La., he was a former resident of Ocala. Mr. Keene was a member of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity at University of Tampa. He was formerly employed by SouthTrust Bank in Ocala.
Survivors include his wife of seven years, Kristen Marie Ott Keene, Westfield; daughter, Mazalee Morgan Keene, Westfield; mother, Susan Grimm, Dallas; father, L. A native of Ardmore, Pa., he moved here from Miami one year ago. Mr. McKeon attended Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

TALLAHASSEE — Charles "Buck" M. Rhodes, 77, a retired superintendent for Holloway Construction Co., died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001.
A native of Ocala, he moved to Tallahassee in 1989. Mr. Rhodes was a member of Timberline Church of Christ. He served in the U.S. Army, 80th Tank Battalion, during World War II.

LENA, Ill. — Curtis Richard Taylor, 87, a retired bank vice president, died Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2001.
A native of Lena, he was an Ocala winter resident. Mr. Taylor retired from Citizens State Bank of Lena after 20 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Lena Golf Club and founding member of Lanark and Lena Lions Clubs. Mr. Taylor served in the U.S. Navy from 1943 to 1945.
