DUNNELLON — Donald J. Kurth, 82, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness.
A native of Austin, Minn., he moved here from Fort Smith, Ark., in 1999. Mr. Kurth was Catholic.
He is survived by his brother, Arnold Kurth, Austin. and sister, Marilyn Dillon, Dunnellon.

Myrtis L. Mears, 89
JONESBORO, Tenn. — Myrtis Lloyd Mears, 89, a homemaker, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tenn.
A native of Vienna, Ga., she was a former resident of Salt Springs. Mrs. Mears was Baptist.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Dorothy Mears, Jonesboro; seven grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hazel Mears; and son, James "Freddie" Mears.

A native of Florida, she was a lifelong resident of Moss Bluff. Mrs. Miller-Ellis was a member of Solid Rock Bible Church in Moss Bluff.
Survivors include her husband, Mickie Ellis, Moss Bluff; daughter, Christina S. Ellis, Silver Springs; and father, Art Magamoil, Ocala.

William Nies, 80
OCALA — Williams Nies, 80, an artist, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001.
A native of New York City, he moved here from Little Falls, N.J., in 1990. Mr. Nies was an active member of Fort King Presbyterian Church, Brick City Center for the Arts, and Gallery East. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include his sons, Robert Nies, Basking Ridge, N.J., and David Nies, Portland, Maine; stepsons, Nicholas Soriano, Rockne, Texas, and Mark Soriano, Little Ferry, N.J.; daughter, Leslie Nies, Cohasset, Mass.; stepdaughters, Lee Ann Soriano, Oakland, N.J., and Diana Soriano, West Paterson, N.J.; brother, James Nies, Shelton, Conn.; and 10 grandchildren.

OCALA — Emma Offerman, 91, a retired assembly line worker for Westinghouse, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001.
A native of New York City, she moved here from Perth Amboy, N.J., in 1971. Mrs. Offerman was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Emma Kubik, Ocala and Lillian Stratton, Fords, N.J.; brother, Martin Gutwein, Holland, Mich.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Nolan K. Patrick, 90
OCALA — Nolan Kenneth Patrick, 90, a retired bus driver for Metro Dade County Department of Transportation, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Milltown, Ind., he moved here from Miami in 1971. Mr. Patrick was a member of Maricamp Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Patrick, Ocala; son, Kenneth Patrick, Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Martha Kohut, Ackworth, Ga.; sisters, Alice Proctor and Ruth Colson, both of Ocala; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Alton D. Perryman Sr., 70
McINTOSH — Alton "Doug" Perryman Sr., 70, a retired sales and service associate for Marion Tractor and Ocala Ford, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, at home.
Mr. Perryman was a native and lifelong resident of Marion County. He was a member of First Baptist Church of McIntosh. Mr. Perryman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Bernice "Neecee" Perryman, McIntosh; son, Alton D. Perryman Jr., Ocala; daughters, Lesia K. Mullett, West Palm Beach and Sabrina D. Perryman, Ocala; brother, Harlie C. Perryman Jr., Ocala, Arthur L. Perryman, Blue Ridge, Ga.; sisters, Louise Muldrow, Ocala and Rona Cowart, Keystone Heights; and five grandchildren.

CLEBURNE, Texas — Elizabeth H. Trumbull, 96, a retired teacher, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2001.
A native of Pittsburgh, she was a former Marion County resident.
Survivors include her daughters, Helen T. LeClair, Cleburne and Wilma T. Gray, Alexandria, Va.; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Trumbull, who died Nov. 8, 1984.

She is survived by her son, Alan D. Jones, Cleveland.

A native of Austria, she moved here from Chicago in 1955. Mrs. Krummel was an active member of First Methodist Church of Ocala.
Survivors include her daughter, Lee Sanders, Ocala; stepdaughter, Lenore Bass, Arkansas; son, Fred Mesek, Escondido, Calif.; stepson, Dr. Herbert Krummel, Walnut Creek, Calif.; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Clifford E. Spiegelberg, 82
DUNNELLON — Clifford E. Spiegelberg, 82, a retired chief master sergeant for the U.S. Air Force, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001, in Gainesville.
A native of New London, Wis., he moved here from England in 1975. Mr. Spiegelberg was a member of Retired Enlisted Association, Peace Lutheran Church of Dunnellon, life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Non Commissioned Officers Association and 27th Troop Carriers Squadron Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife, Zennie Spiegelberg, Dunnellon; sons, James C. Spiegelberg, Dunnellon, Kenneth W. Spiegelberg, Pickett, Wis., Daryl A. Spiegelberg, Menasha, Wis., Richard M. Spiegelberg, Nappanee, Ind., and Allen Spiegelberg, Ocala; daughters, Marlys J. Swenson, Winneconne, Wis., and Karen E. Spiegelberg, Jacksonville; sisters, Verna Donker and Geneva Brewer, both of Oshkosh, Wis.; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

INVERNESS — Charles L. Boydston, 73, a retired aircraft mechanic, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001.
A native of Columbus, Ohio, he moved to Inverness from Gainesville in 1998. Mr. Boydston was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He is survived by his son, Mark Boydston, Clermont; daughter, Debra Mathison, Clermont; brother, William Boydston, Columbus, Ohio; and two grandchildren.

DUNNELLON — Violet A. Brown, 74, a retired supervisor for AT&T, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, in Tampa.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., she moved here from Islip Terrace, N.Y., in 1979. Mrs. Brown was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and Dunnellon Moose Lodge. She was Catholic.
Survivors include her husband, Russell A. Brown, Dunnellon; stepson, Richard A. Brown, Safety Harbor; stepdaughter, Lucinda J. Hinton, Safety Harbor; and four grandchildren.

Edgar L. Byrd, 60
COSBY, Tenn. — Edgar Lesley Byrd, 60, owner of Earthwalk Shop of Gatlinburg, Tenn., died Monday, Nov. 5, 2001.
A native of Hollywood, he was a former resident of Ocala. Mr. Byrd was a writer and an artist.
Survivors include his father, Lesley Byrd, Eustis; son, Travis S. Byrd, Centerville, Ohio; sister, Pat Shamrock, Eustis; and three grandchildren.

Salvatore A. DeLuca, 81
OCALA — Salvatore "Sal" A. DeLuca, 81, a retired printer, died Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2001, at home.
A native of Manhattan, N.Y., he moved here from Brentwood, N.Y., three years ago. Mr. DeLuca was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Naomi V. DeLuca, Ocala; son, Philip J. DeLuca, Seattle; daughters, Madeline Maxfield, Titusville, Kathleen McGowan, Millersville, Md., Jane Crowley, Port Richey, Virginia V. Medford, Long Island, N.Y., Sally Peterson, Ronkonkoma, N.Y.; brother, Vincent DeLuca, Coral Springs; two sisters, Anna Ferrara, Atlanta and Rose Basile, Port Jefferson Station, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by son Paul Salvatore DeLuca, who died March 21, 1969.

Charles D. Heller, 67
BELLEVIEW — Charles "Spook" Donald Heller, 67, a retired repairman, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at home.
A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved here from Miami five years ago. Mr. Heller retired from Florida Power and Light after 42 years. He attended St. Peter and Paul Catholic School, Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, St. Richard Catholic Church and Loyal Order of the Moose. Mr. Heller served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mary Heller, Belleview; daughters, Patricia Mosel, Vero Beach, Kathleen Greene, Miami, Mary L. Bush and Jessie Flo, both of Davie; son, Charles D. Heller Jr., Belleview; sister, Winnifred Summerlin, Miami; and seven grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie Heller.

BELLEVIEW — Eva L. Hoots, 89, a retired billing clerk, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Marion Health Care Center.
A native of Minneapolis, Minn., she moved here from Fridley, Minn., 25 years ago.
She is survived by her sisters, Gertrude "Trudy" Voss, Belleview, and Helen Holman, Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Hoots.

OCALA — William D. Huyck, 81, a retired tool and die maker, died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2001, at Estelle's Hospice House.
A native of Peoria, Ill., he moved here from Miami 20 years ago. Mr. Huyck was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, June Huyck, Ocala; stepson, Richard Gaydos, Miami; stepdaughters, Cheryl Rounding, Ocala, and Marsha Daker, Miami; and five step-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter, Emogene Hawkesworth, Belleview; son, Bill E. Leslie, Hudson; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Mulhern was a native of Summerfield. He was a member of Our Lady of the Springs Catholic Church. Mr. Mulhern served in the U.S. Army for 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Kluppels Mulhern, Ocala; and brother, Lawrence Mulhern, Beattie, Kan.
