OCALA — Henry R. Patterson Jr., 87, a retired engineer for Beloit Corp., died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of Trenton, N.J., he moved here from Fort Lauderdale in 1990. Mr. Patterson was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and a board of directors' member of Interfaith Emergency Services and SCORE.
Survivors include his son, Henry R. Patterson III, Exton, Pa.; daughters, Tina Bartlow, Owego, N.Y., and Julie Evan, Atglen, Pa.; brother, Robert Patterson, Venice; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Thyra Patterson.

OCALA — William Sample, 82, a retired dairy route deliverer, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Staten Island, N.Y., he moved here in 1987. Mr. Sample was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church and a charter member of Angela Santos Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4781. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
