A native of Chattanooga, Tenn., she moved here from Miami 18 years ago. Mrs. Patterson worked for Southern Bell for 22 years.

INGLIS — Estelle Strauch, 88, a retired saleswoman, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001.
A native of Jersey City, N.J., she moved here from Lutz 11 years ago. Mrs. Strauch was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Inglis.

A native of Oil City, Pa., she moved here from Fort Lauderdale in 1990. Mrs. Bailey was a member of Central Baptist Church.

OCALA — Concepcion Cotto, 88, a retired butcher, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001.
A native of Puerto Rico, he moved here from Freeport, N.Y., 11 years ago. Mr. Cotto was a member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Leocadia Maldonado.

OCALA — Anna T. Daniels, 81, a retired secretary for Travelers Insurance Co., died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Sylvia's Hospice House.
A native of New York City, she moved here in 1986. Mrs. Daniels was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. She loved to sing.
Survivors include her brother, Bernard Clancy Jr., Ocala; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Mary E. Reilly.

INVERNESS — Menota G. DeShazo, 87, of Inverness, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001.
A native of Safety Harbor, she moved here from Clearwater in 1985. Mrs. DeShazo was a Jehovah's Witness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. DeShazo, in 1999.

SILVER SPRINGS — Carlos L. Griggs, 79, a retired timber manager for the U.S. Forestry Service, died Thursday, Dec. 20, 2001, at Shands Hospital.
A native of Mount Dora, he was a longtime resident of Marion County. Mr. Griggs was a member of Ocklawaha Bridge Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie Griggs, Silver Springs; sister, Louise Wood, Ocklawaha; daughters, Kathryn Sickling, Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Margie Hendon, Lisa Dreggors and Julie Sieg, all of Silver Springs; and five grandchildren.

A native of Mayo, she moved here in 1940. Mrs. Humphries retired from the Marion County School System after 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ocala.

OCALA — Charles J. Matea, 71, a retired U.S. Navy chief petty officer died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001 at his home.
A native of Beulah, Pa., he moved here from Key West in 1996. He was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
He was a member of the American Bowling Congress, Fleet Reserve Association, the Retired Enlisted Association and American Legion Post 354 of Marion Oaks. He also was a master mechanic for Mercury Outboard Motors.
Survivors include his wife Eleanor M. Matea, Ocala; son David Matea, Key West; daughter, Karen Richards, Goldsboro, N.C.; sisters, Emma McCully, Ramey, Pa., Florence Broberg, Mesa, Ariz.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Matea.

SUMMERFIELD — Harry "Bob" Rice, 75, a retired electrician, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2001 at Munroe Regional Medical Center.
A native of Oil City, Pa., he moved here from Lisbon, Conn., 11 years ago. He was a Lutheran.
Mr. Rice was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. of Taftville, Conn., the Lions Club in Baltic, Conn., and a member of the auxiliary of the Connecticut State Police.
