Friday, 3/10/2000 - 3 Adar II 5760
Edna F. Drutz, 84, died Thursday morning at the Hospice
Inpatient Unit. She was the former Edna Khourt Friedman,
a member of Adath Jeshurun Congregation, and a member of Hadassah.
She was also co-owner of Martins Pharmacy on Cane Run Road
for thirty years.
Survivors: daughter, Carol Seifer; son, Julius Friedman; and
five grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00am with visitation beginning
after 10:00am. Burial will follow in the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery,
2926 Preston Highway.
Memorial gifts can be made to either Hospice of Louisville or to
Adath Jeshurun Congregation.

Monday, 3/06/2000 - 29 Adar 5760
Robert I. Lerman MD, 65, died Thursday at Sloan-Kettering Hospital
Survived by his wife Joanie Lerman, daughter Sarah Lerman, two sons
Samuel and Joshua Lerman, brother Arthur Lerman. Funeral Monday
1:30pm at The Waller Chapel at The Temple 5101 U S Highway 42
Interment The Temple Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 2-5pm at Herman
Meyer & Son Inc. 1338 Ellison Avenue

Wednesday, 3/01/2000 - 24 Adar 5760
Sara Hyman, 95, died Sunday evening at her residence in Miami
Florida. She was the former Sara Cristil and a member of Adath Jeshurun
Synagogue and a homemaker.
The funeral service will be held at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 2926 Preston
Highway, at 12:00pm.
Memorial gifts can be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Tuesday, 2/22/2000 - 16 Adar, 5760
J. R. "Red" Gershune, 93, died Sunday at Four Courts Senior Center.
He was a retired financial investor, a member of Keneseth Israel
Congregation, B'nai Brith, Kosair Temple, St. George Masonic
Lodge, Scottish Rite, and the Elks Club.
Survivors: one sister, Yetta Gershune; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1:00pm. Visitation will begin after 12:00pm.
Interment will be in Anshei Sfard Cemetery.
Memorial gifts can be made to the B'nai Brith Fresh Air Fund or to
Keneseth Israel Congregation.

Friday, 2/18/2000 - 12 Adar, 5760
Elizabeth "Betty" Haines, 79, died at the Hurstbourne Care
Center on Wednesday. She was the former Elizabeth
Ormston and a homemaker.
Survivors: daughter-in-law, Holly Haines; two grandsons,
Richard and Robert Haines; and one great grandchild.
The funeral will be held at Resthaven Cemetery at 11:00am.
Visitation will begin at 10:00am at the cemetery. Entombment
will follow. Memorial gifts can be made to the J. Graham
Brown Cancer Research Center.

Tuesday, 2/15/2000 - 9 Adar, 5760
Sidney Hanish, 78, died Saturday in Boyton Beach, Florida. He was
the founder of Hanish & Myles Attorneys at Law, a member of Anshei
Sfard Congregation, the Jewish Community Center, the Kentucky Bar
Association, the American Trial Lawyers Association, the Kentucky
Trial Lawyers Association, the Louisville Bar Association, and Kosair Shrine.
Survivors: wife, Marilyn Hanish; two sons, Dr. Arthur Steven Daus and
Dr. Kevin Michael Daus; a brother, Colman Hanish; two grandchildren,
Arthur Daus and Haley Nicole Daus.
The funeral will be at 3:00pm with visitation beginning after 2:00pm.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Jewish Community Center or to Anshei
Sfard Congregation.

Tuesday, 2/15/2000 - 9 Adar, 5760
Bertha Rosenbaum Zimmer, 91, died Sunday evening in Clark Memorial
Hospital. She was a retired beautician, a member of the Organization
for Regional Training, the Jewish Community Center, The Adult Social
Club at the JCC, a volunteer at the Southern Indiana Medical Center in
Charlestown, Indiana, and a Companion of the Forest of America for more
than 50 years.
Survivors: a daughter-in-law, Vivianne Lewis; a brother, Albert Rosenbaum;
two grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 10:00am at the Anshei Sfard Cemetery on Locust Lane.
Memorial gifts can be made to the Anshei Sfard Congregation or to the
Donor's favorite charity.

Sunday, 2/13/2000 - 7 Adar 5760
Sylvia Markuson, 84, died Saturday at St. Matthews Manor Nursing
Home. She was a home maker and a former member of Congregation Anshei
Sfard.
Survivors: two sons, Barry Markuson and Gilbert Markuson; a sister,
Charlotte Smith; and five grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11:00am with visitation beginning at 10:30am.
Interment will follow in Anshei Sfard Cemetery on Preston Highway.
Memorial gifts can be made to The American Cancer Society or to the
American Heart Association.

Wednesday, 2/9/2000 - 3 Adar 5760
Annette DeBrovy Isaacs, 102, died Monday at Four Courts Senior
Center. She was a home maker and a former member of Adath
Jeshurun Congregation.
Survivors: two sons Sheldon and Irvin Isaacs; sister
Yetta Abroms; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
The funeral is Wednesday at 1:00 PM from Herman Meyer & Son Inc.
Burial in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Memorial gifts to Adath Jeshurun
Congregation.

Monday, 2/7/2000 - 1 Adar 5760
Emily Leibson Binus, 89, died Sunday at Alliant Medical Pavilion.
She was a retired school teacher and a member of Congregation Adath
Jeshurun, Zionist Organization of America, and Hadassah.
Survivors: a daughter, Judith Binus; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 1:00pm with visitation beginning after 12:00 noon.
Interment will be in Keneseth Israel Cemetery. Memorial Gifts can be made
to the National Alzheimer's Association, Hadassah, or The National
Osteoporosis Foundation.
