Beulah F. Berry, 74, died Tuesday night in Atlanta, Georgia.
She was the former Beulah Fleischaker, a retired first grade
teacher with Semple Elementary School, an active member of
the Jewish community, a founding member of Temple Shalom,
past President of the Auxiliary, a religious school teacher, and a
Sunday school teacher at the old B'rith Sholom Congregation.
She is survived by:one step-son, Arnold Berry, MD of Atlanta;
a sister, Emily Baverman of Montclair, California; a brother, Gordon
Fleischaker, MD of Denver, Colorado; three step-grandchildren,
Michael Berry, Jeremy Berry, and Samuel Berry; several nieces,
nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Temple Shalom, 4615 Lowe Road
at 1:00pm.
Donations may be given to the Agnes Rose and Gordon Fleischaker
Education Fund at Temple Shalom.

Mae Pincus, 88, died Wednesday, April 4, 2001, at Four Courts
Senior Center.She was the former Mae Handsman, a devotedhousewife,
a member of Anshei Sfard Congregation and of the Senior Club at the
Jewish Community Center.
Mrs. Pincus is survived by: her son, Bernard H. Pincus; and three grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 11:30am.Visitation will begin after 10:30am.
Interment
will be in the Beth Moses Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York,
on Tuesday, April 10, 2001.Memorial gifts may be given to the donor's favorite

Selma G. Lazar, 86, died Thursday morning at Norton's Suburban Hospital.
She was the former Selma Goldschmidt, the wife of the late Julius Lazar, a
member of Congregation Adath Jeshurun, a former salesperson and book-
keeper for the Old Fabric Shop.
She is survived by one son, Steven A. Lazar.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm with visitation after 1:00pm. Interment
will be in the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery, 2926 Preston Highway.
Memorial gifts may be given to the American Heart Association.

Louis N. Garlove, 90,died Monday morning at Lyndon Lane
Nursing Home.He was an attorney and senior partner with
Morris, Garlove, Waterman and Johnson.He graduated U of L
Law School and practiced from 1935 to 1995.He was also a member
of the Kentucky Bar Association, The Louisville Bar Association, and
a member of The Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Rose Garlove.
A memorial service will be held at 1:30pm today at The Temple, 5101
U. S. Highway 42.

Israel Rosenbloum, 91, died Tuesday at Jewish Hospital.He was a retired
salesperson for the old Strom's Market, a Navy veteran of World War II,
he was honored as minyanaire of 1988 and a member ofCongregation Adath
Jeshurun.
He is survived by a nephew, Jack Schiller.
A graveside service will be held at noon today at the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery.

Joyce Brooks, 74, died Tuesday at Four Courts Senior Center.She was the
former Joyce Grossman, a native of Long Branch, New Jersey and a retired
school teacher, a member of B'nai B'rith, the Democratic Club, Altrusa,
a Sunday school teacher, and she taught English as a second language
to new Americans.
She is survived by:a daughter, Barbara Waldrop; a son, Ken Brooks;
two brothers, Allan Grossman, of Naples, Florida and Stephan Grossman,
of West Deal, New Jersey; a sister, Marcia Rudoff, of Bainbridge Island,
Washington; and three grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at the Evergreen Cemetery in Panama
City, Florida.
Memorial donations can be given to either Four Courts Senior Center
or to the Summit Academy.

Etta Pass, 90, died at Four Courts Senior Center Monday morning.
She was the former Etta Salzman, a member of Keneseth Israel
Congregation and of Hadassah as well as a former bookkeeper for
Thrift Dollar Stores.
Mrs. Pass is survived by:a nephew, David Waterman; and a niece,
Evelyn Simon.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00am at Keneseth Israel Cemetery.

Irvin Abroms, 86, died Wednesday in Evansville, Indiana.
He operated Peal's Department Store and later, Peal's
Men's Store in Oakland City, Indiana.He was a charter member
of Oakland City Country Club and a sergeant in the Army during
World War II.
He is survived by:two cousins, Marvin Snyder and Ronnie
Snyder; and a sister, Sylvia Lee Rosen.
There will be a graveside service at Adath Jeshurun Cemetery
at 1:00pm.

Ruth Solzman, 83, died Thursday morning at Four Courts Senior
Center.She was the former Ruth Cohen, a native of Greenville,
Kentucky and co - owner of Irving's Market in Greenville,
Kentucky.
Mrs. Solzman is survived by: two sons, Jerry Solzman and
Ted Solzman; four sisters, Evelyn Wein, Hazel Becker,
and Louise Baker; and one brother, Julius Cohen and four
grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm with visitation after
1:00pm.Her body will be donated to the University of
Louisville Medical School.

a sister, Chava Majani; two brothers, Simcha Nutkiewicz
and Arie Majani; two grandchildren and five great grand-
children.

Dorit Blum, 82, died Sunday night at the Washington
Hospital in Fremont, California.She was the former Dorit
Korn, wife of the late Paul Blum, a dedicated housewife,
a member of Congregation Anshei Sfard, and of the
Jewish Community Center Club 60.
Mrs. Blum is survived by:three daughters, Jane Golding,
Evelyn Angert, and Eleanor Markuson; one son, David
Blum, of Fremont, California; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be held at 4:30pm with interment
following in
Anshei Sfard Cemetery.Visitation will begin after 4:00pm.

Mark Abramovitch, died Sunday morning at Norton's Suburban Hospital.
He was a native of the Ukraine, moving to the United States nine years ago,
and a retired military officer as well as a member of The Temple.
He is survived by:his wife, Gita Shood Abramovitch; two sons, Leonid
and Anatoly Abramovitch; two grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm this afternoon, with visitation beginning
after 1:00pm.Interment
will follow in The Temple Cemetery.

Stuart Allen Handmaker, 70, a Louisville lawyer who was a leader
of the Jewish Community Federation and other civic organizations,
died Monday at Jewish Hospital.
Handmaker was a former president of the federation, which oversees
the Jewish community's social services and charity work. Community
service is "part of the obligation of living," he told The Courier-Journal
in 1981.
He was also an officer of the national Council of Jewish Federations
and of the National Jewish Community Relations Advisory Council. The
advisory council fights for equal opportunity, separation of church
and state, and individual freedom.
Handmaker was active in the Louisville arts community. He organized
the Kentucky Music Weekend and was president of the Louisville
School of Art. He received his undergraduate and law degrees from
Stanford University. He was an editor of the Stanford Law Review
and was second in his 1953 law school class. Handmaker practiced
law in Louisville for more than 40 years and was chair of the business
section of Seiller & Handmaker, LLP. He had been partner since 1990.
He was a member of the American, Kentucky and Louisville bar
associations, and wrote "Choosing a Legal Structure for Your
Business," published in 1997.
He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Order of the Coif and Congregation
Adath Jeshurun.
His survivors include his wife, Muriel Handmaker; three sons, David,
William and Robert Handmaker; a daughter, Ellen Grosovsky; and seven
grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 1:00pm today at Congregation Adath Jeshurun, 2401
Woodbourne Avenue, with burial in Adath Jeshurun Cemetery. Visitation
will begin after 12:00 noon today at the synagogue.
