Sylvia Kozlove Strasberg, 77, died Sunday afternoon at Hill-
creek Manor Nursing Home.She was the former Sylvia
Kozlove, a member of Congregation Adath Jeshurun,
a member of the Jewish Community Center, a member
of Adath Jeshurun Sisterhood, a Life Master Bridge
player for the ACBL and a co-owner of the former Strasberg's,
on Preston Street.
She is survived by:her husband, Lawrence J. Strasberg;
two daughters, Harriet Strasberg and Lois Strasberg; one
son, Paul Strasberg; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:00pm with interment

Dorothy K.Bleicher, died Monday morning at Belmont
Village.She was the former Dorothy Kirschenbaum, a retired
bookkeeper for several retail department stores, the first
president of Mizarchi Women in Sea Gate, New York, a member
of Ladies Auxiliary of Yeshiva in Flat Bush, New York, a life member
of Yeshiva University Women's Organization, and a member of
Keneseth Israel Congregation in Sea Gate, New York.
She is survived by:one son, Larry Kirschenbaum; and four grand-
children, Lisa Kaplin, Marc Kirschenbaum, Jeff Speigel and David
Speigel.
A graveside service will be held at the Adath Jeshurun Cemetery,
2926 Preston Highway, at 1:00pm.

Irene C. Starr, 85, died Thursday at Jewish Hospital. She was
the former Irene Cowles and she was a member of The Temple.
Survivors include:one son, Charles Starr; two sisters, Zelda
Mills and Elizabeth Watt; and she had seven grandchildren and
nine great grandchildren.

Helen Benovitz, 81, died Thursday at her residence.
She was the former Helen Bornstein, the daughter of Ale
and Fannie Bornstein, the secretary/treasurer of OVASCO

and a member of Keneseth Israel Sisterhood, Hadassah,
National Council of Jewish Women - Louisville Section,
Textile Bag and Packaging Association and KenesethIsrael
Congregation.
Survivors include:her husband, William Benovitz; a daughter,
Linda Fuchs; a son, Lee Benovitz; a brother, Donald Bornstein;
and three grandchildren.

saleswoman.
She is survived by a friend, Carolyne Gandy.

Senior Center.She was the former Shirley Netter, a member of
B'nai Brith, and Temple Beth Abraham Sisterhood in Oakland,
California.
She is survived by:her husband, Frank B. Cohen; three sons,
Larry A. Cohen, Bradley E. Cohen and Martin B. Cohen; her mother,
Ida Netter Kelber; a sister, Esther Cavanaugh; a brother, Evan Netter;
seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Evalyn B. Weiss, 95, died Wednesday morning at Jefferson Place.She was
a member of The Temple, The Temple Sisterhood, a board member of the
American Heart Association, and a volunteer teacher at the Jewish
Community Center Club 66.
She is survived by:a daughter, Emily Keisler; two sons, Dr. Morris
M. Weiss, Jr. and Allan Weiss; a brother, Samuel Brown of Mobile,
Alabama; and twelve grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A 3:00pm memorial service will be held at The Temple, 5101 US Highway
42.A private burial service will be held at The Temple Cemetery.

Bernard I. Sigal, 78, died Thursday morning at St.
Matthews Manor.He was a lifelong resident of Youngstown,
Ohio, a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School, a graduate of
YSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in education, a graduate of
Westminster College with a Master's deree in counseling, a member of
Rodef Sholom Temple, an instructor in the Rodef Sholom religious school,
a member of the Youngstown Mason Lodge, a teacher and guidance
counselor in the Austintown Public Schools for 35 years, a Federal Project
Administrator for Chapter 1 Programs, a part time instructor at YSU in
political science, a loan officer for the Austintown Teachers Credit Union,
a member of Phi Delta Kappa (educational honorary organization), a winner
of the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation Award at Kent State
University in 1983 and a World War II veteran.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Tillie and Louis Sigal; two
brothers, Fred Sigal and Howard Sigal, M.D.
Mr. Sigal's survivors include:his wife, Phyllis Tartar Sigal; a daughter,
Linda Sigal Snyder; son-in-law, Steve Snyder and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30pm, with interment

Hadassah; National Council of Jewish Women - Louisville -
Section; and a past board member of the Louisville District
Women's Golf Association; past chairperson of The Temple
Gift Shop.
She is survived by:her husband, Eugene Vine; and a daughter,
Patti Sue Vine; two brothers, Norman Cohen and Melvin Cohen.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Cohen.

Hospital.He was a retired pharmacist, a member of Keneseth
Israel, former owner of Sam's Pharmacy, a World War II Navy
Veteran, a member of AZO, a volunteer for Four Courts Senior
Center, a volunteer for Kosair Children's Hospital, a volunteer for
for both St. Joseph and the former V. A. Hospitals in Lexington, a
Mason and a former president of Four Courts Residents' Council.
He is survived by: two daughters, Cathy Tasman and Dr. Susan
Hendley of Columbia, South Carolina; a brother Marvin Goldstein;
and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3:30pm today with visitation beginning

Charles V. Lorch, Sr., died Wednesday morning at Four Courts
Senior Center.He was a retired partner of the Vic Lorch and Son
Jewelry Store on both Market Street and in the Shelbyville Road
Plaza, a past president of The Temple, a member of The Temple,
a member of The Temple Brotherhood, St. George Masonic Lodge,
and Regional Vice President for the Bureau of Jewish Education.
He is survived by one son, Michael J. Lorch, two grandchildren and
eight great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held today at The Temple, 5100 US Highway
42.It will be held in the Waller Chapel.

Rayna Silverstein Greenberg, 84, died Thursday evening at her home
in Hollywood, Florida.She was a member of the Adath Jeshurun

Saul M. Loeb, who was a part-time press secretary for former Govenor
John Y. Brown Jr. and wrote comedy material for entertainers including
Woody Allen, died yesterday at his Louisville home. He was 76.
Loeb, who specialized in monologues, also wrote for comedians Jackie
Mason and Alan King, and for ABC and NBC television networks.
He also was a former editorial columnist for Knight-Ridder newspapers,
including the Lexington Herald-Leader.
A native of Louisville, Loeb had been an agent for American Heritage
Life Insurance Co. before moving to New York to pursue comedy
writing.
In New York he also worked for Philip Morris USA's world headquarters
and later retired as director of corporate affairs for the company's
international headquarters in Switzerland.
After his retirement from Philip Morris, Loeb became a public relations
consultant with clients such as American Express, Miller Brewing Co.,
NBC, Taco Bell Inc. and Alcoa.
In Louisville, Loeb served as a board member of Kentucky Educational
Television, Louisville Free Public Library, Congregation Adath Jeshurun
and the Kentucky Commission on Women.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Public
Relations Society of America and Overseas Press Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Renee Gold.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today, with burial at Adath Jeshurun
Cemetery. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. today.
