BILL WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO MARY LOU WALTON ON FEBRUARY 21, 1953 IN POTOSI, MISSOURI.
HE IS SURVIVED BY TWO DAUGHTERS, CAROL RICHIE AND HUSBAND CHARLES OF ST. LOUIS, AND LISA VAUGHN OF ST. LOUIS, TWO SONS, DAVID VAUGHN OF ST. LOUIS, AND JAMES VAUGHN AND WIFE LESLIE OF ST. LOUIS, ONE STEP- SON, GERALD VAUGHN AND WIFE SUSAN OF ST. LOUIS, EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN AND THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, HIS FORMER WIFE MARY LOU ( WALTON) VAUGHN OF ST. LOUIS, TWO BROTHERS, JAMES VAUGHN OF VIRGINIA AND QUNENTIN VAUGHN AND WIFE MATTIE OF GEORGIA, ONE SISTER CATHERINE VAUGHN OF ST. LOUIS. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS DAUGHTER-IN-LAW JOHNNY VAUGHN, ALSO BY HIS TWIN BROTHER, BOBBY VAUGHN AND SISTER ELNORA BOYD.
BILL HAD GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR AND ALWAYS ENJOYED A GREAT PRACTICAL JOKE AND TELLING A STORY. BILL ENJOYED SINGING WITH FRIENDS AND WAS VERY DEDICATED TO THE CHRISTIAN NORTH EAST HOSPITAL WERE HE VOLUNTEERED HIS TIME AND LOVE.
VISITATION WAS HELD FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2001, FROM 11:00 A.M. TO 2:00 P.M. AT MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2001, AT 2:00 P.M. WITH REVEREND ROBERT BULLOCK OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN TRINITY CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, DAVID VAUGHN, JIMMY VAUGHN, GERALD VAUGHN, ALAN WALTON, RONNIE WALTON AND CHARLES RICHIE.

JANE W. SIMMONS OF PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE, FORMERLY OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN AT FOUNTAIN FARM, MISSOURI ON NOVEMBER 13, 1913. SHE WAS THE DAUGHTER OF THE LATE HUGH AND CHARLOTTA (SMITH) WHITE. JANE DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT EDGEWOOD CENTRE IN PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE ON MAY 12, 2001 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY-SEVEN YEARS, FIVE MONTHS, AND TWENTY-NINE DAYS.
JANE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO RUSSELL R. SIMMONS ON JUNE 18, 1937 IN POTOSI, MISSOURI. RUSSELL PRECEDED JANE IN DEATH ON TUESDAY SEPTEMBER 29, 1987.
SHE IS SURVIVED BY ONE DAUGHTER, EMILY S. WHITE OF PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE, TWO GRANDCHILDREN, DAVID VERDI AND WIFE DENISE OF DES MOINES, IOWA, AND ALAN VERDI AND WIFE MICHELLE OF PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE AND THREE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, COLEEN, STEVEN & ELISA VERDI. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND HUSBAND SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER SON-IN-LAW, LT. JAMES R. VERDI AND ONE BROTHER FRANK M. WHITE.
JANE WAS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF THE POTOSI PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH. JANE WAS A CHARTER AND VERY PROUD MEMBER OF THE SARAH BARTON LONG CHAPTER OF D.A.R. SHE WAS AN ASSOCIATE MEMBER RANGER CHAPTER D.A.R. IN PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE. JANE ENJOYED HER MANY FAMILY AND FRIENDS AND WAS VERY DEDICATED TO THE COMMUNITY. JANE AND HER LATE HUSBAND RUSSELL WERE VERY INSTRUMENTAL IN MANY PROJECTS IN WASHINGTON COUNTY, ONE OF THEM BEING THE DONATION OF PROPERTY FOR THE CURRENT POTOSI UNITED METHODIST CHURCH.
VISITATION WAS HELD AT 4:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY MAY, 17 AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WAS CONDUCTED AT 10:00 A.M. ON FRIDAY MAY 18 AT POTOSI PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH WITH BROTHER JAMES MALUGEN AND REVEREND BOB BULLOCK OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN THE NEW MASONIC CEMETERY.
