Willie Maude Kristensen
Willie Maude Kristensen, age 86, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Bay Heritage Nursing Home in Niceville, Fla.
She was a homemaker and had lived in this area for many years.
Private funeral services, with internment, at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla., next to her husband, Herman Kristensen, who preceded her in death in 1988, will take place later in the week.

Shirley M. Hanson
Shirley M. Hanson, age 69, of Shalimar, Fla., died of cancer on Jan. 8, 2000.
Mrs. Hanson will be greatly missed by her husband, Fred Pugh, her children, Carol and Tom, and her grandchildren, Mark and Jay Hanson of Minnesota.
In 1983, after 25 years of teaching English and social studies in the St. Paul School District, Shirley retired to the Fort Walton Beach, Fla., area. Here she found her true avocation as an active member of the Senior Center for Lifelong Learning (SCLL). Her passion for knowledge and organizational skills blossomed in this environment. She served as chairman of the Long-Range Planning Committee, Curriculum Director, and most recently President of SCLL. She will be remembered for her strength, honesty, love and zest for life.
The family would like to thank all of Shirley's incredible friends who helped her during her illness. Their support was very much appreciated.
A memorial service will be held at Emerald Coast Funeral Home on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the service.

Ruby Marjorie Terflinger
Ruby Marjorie Terflinger, age 64, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away early Monday morning, Jan. 10, 2000, in a local hospital after an extended illness.
Mrs. Terflinger was born on Jan. 3, 1936, in Kettering, England, to the late George and Florence Payne Sr. She was a resident of Fort Walton Beach since 1968, when she moved here from Ohio. She was a homemaker and Protestant by faith.
Mrs. Terflinger enjoyed needlepoint and gardening. She was a life member of AMVETS Post 78 in Niceville, Fla.
Mrs. Terflinger was preceded in death by her parents and her brother. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Charles E. Terflinger of Fort Walton Beach; daughter, Vickie Brown and husband Randy of Fort Walton Beach; son, Jay Terflinger of Fort Walton Beach; daughter, Gerry Rogers and husband Jeff of Destin, Fla.; sister, Betty Foster and husband Douglas of England; brother, Roy Clark of England; brother, Gary Payne of Scotland; five grandchildren, Catrina Kidwell and husband Eric of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Chris Brown of Fort Walton Beach, Kyle Rogers of Destin, Fla., Danielle Rogers of Destin, and Kaylee Elizabeth Terflinger of Fort Walton Beach; and many extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Emerald Coast Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Reese officiating. Interment will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Buck Gillis
Buck Gillis, age 86, of DeFuniak Springs, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, in Pensacola, Fla.
Born in Walton County, Fla., on Feb. 10, 1913, he was the son of the late Ang and Mollie Padgett Gillis. Mr. Gillis worked in the transportation industry as a truck driver. He was a lifelong resident of Walton County. Mr. Gillis was Baptist by faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Effie Gillis. Mr. Gillis is survived by two daughters, Deloris Prindle and Alecia Graves; sisters, Eloise Carroll of Ponce de Leon, Fla., and Faye Whitfield of Pensacola; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Comander Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Spence officiating. Burial will follow in Sandy Creek Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Comander Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Ronald Smith, William Smith, Terry Davis, David Carroll, Lamar Smith and Clarence Whitfield.

Robbie V. Mack
Robbie V. Mack, age 80, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at her residence.
She was born in Montevallo, Ala., on Jan. 4, 1919, to Robert and Jessie Harrison and had been living in this area for the past 20 years. She was a member of the Coast Guard from 1943 to 1945. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Mack is survived by her husband John E. Mack of Fort Walton Beach; sons, Robert T. Mack of Berkeley, Calif., and William E. Mack of Berkeley; daughter, Mary E. Mack of Berkeley; sister, Elizabeth H. Harrison of Birmingham, Ala.; and grandchildren, Kate and Amber.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, at McLaughlin Mortuary Chapel.

Jari L. Hart-Tilton
Jari L. Hart-Tilton, age 45, of Gainesville, Fla., died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000, at Shands at Jacksonville, Fla., after a long illness.
She was born in Highland Park, Mich., and moved to Oakland County, Mich. She lived in Gainesville, Fla., until 1992 when she moved to Fort Walton Beach, Fla., in 1975. She returned to Gainesville in March 1999 and was an operating room nurse at Alachua General Hospital in Gainesville and Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.
She graduated from Santa Fe Community College in Gainesville.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald E. Zoll of Hadley, Michigan.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Tilton; son, Christian M. Hart; mother, Patricia L. Zoll, all of Gainesville; father, Stewart D. Hart Jr. of Sylvan Lake, Mich.; sister, Victoria A. Hart of Tampa, Fla.; brothers, Dann D. Hart of Waterford, Mich., Jon J. Hart of Lake Orion, Mich., Stewart D. Hart III of Sun Prairie, Wisc., David P. Zoll of Hadley, Mich., and Brian M. Zoll of Lansing, Mich.

Clara Mae Endicott
Clara Mae Bewley Endicott, age 74, died peacefully at home in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., on Jan. 9, 2000, after an extended illness.
The oldest of 12 children, she was born on Jan. 27, 1925, in Hardin County, Ky., and lived in the Indianapolis area for 50 years before moving to Pensacola, Fla., in 1984.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert E. Endicott. They were members of Warrington Baptist Church in Pensacola.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Endicott-Batts of Denver; son, Robert Jr. and wife Patricia of Fort Walton Beach; brothers, Earnest Russell, Charles and Arnold Bewley of Indianapolis; sisters, Mary Berry of Hardin County, Ky., and Reba Gentry of Indianapolis; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice of Northwest Florida.
The family will receive friends at Fisher-Pou Bayview Chapel in Pensacola from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, with the Rev. Bette J. Poe officiating.

Beryl R. Miron
Beryl R. Miron, "Gran," age 73, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., passed away in a local hospital on Monday, Jan. 10, 2000.
She was born on March 5, 1926, in the township of Kidderminster, Worcestershire, England, and was a resident of this area for the past 37 years, when she moved here from Alaska as a military family. She was Protestant by faith. As a dependent wife of a military member she enjoyed traveling to various places. She was a very detail oriented person, always carefully taking care of her family. She always had a love and concern for others. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Frederick and Sharon of Shalimar, Fla.; sister, Nina Evans of England; and grandchildren, Joseph and Jessica Miron.
The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 13, at Little Chapel Funeral Home.
Graveside services will follow in Barrancas National Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Stephen Olivier officiating.

George E. Parker
Lt. Col. George E. Parker, U.S. Air Force retired, died Jan. 9, 2000, at Twin Cities Hospital at the age of 82.
He was the son of A.J. "George" and Florence Parker of the Curtis community of Elba, Ala.
Col. Parker entered the military by enlisting at Maxwell Field, Ala., in 1936, and served continuously until his retirement from Eglin Air Force Base, Fla., as a lieutenant colonel in 1965. Most of his service was in Logistics Command and Supply Activities. He served twice as supply officer at Eglin Air Force Base.
During World War II, he served in North Africa, India, and was a member of the Flying Tigers in China. He also spent two tours of duty in Alaska.
Mr. Parker was a member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and a Master and York Rite Mason, with membership in the Crestview, Fla., and Fort Walton Beach lodges. He was also a member of the Knight's Templar.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Dorothy P. Parker of Fort Walton Beach; his very special and close grandson, Christopher Reardon of Fort Walton Beach; daughters, Brenda and husband Larry Bowers of Rome, Ga., Priscilla and husband Raymond Brakebill, and Yvonne and husband Jansey Riggs, all of Fort Walton Beach; son, retired Col. John P. Miller, U.S. Air Force, and wife Gayle of Edmond, Okla.; daughter, Virginia and husband Jim Langley of Orange, Texas; son, Michael R. Miller and wife Janet of Columbia, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jack Powell and wife Shirley of Dorcas, Fla.; and sister, Mrs. Cleone Blackstock of Kinston, Ala.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, at First Baptist Church of Fort Walton Beach.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Thursday at the church. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.

Opal Cook Tilley
Opal Cook Tilley, age 71, of Crestview, Fla., passed away Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2000, in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital.
She was a native of Vina, Ala., and had lived in Crestview since 1950. Mrs. Tilley was a member of Crestview Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death in 1972 by her husband, Giles Cook.
Survivors include her son, Paul Cook of Crestview; daughters and their husbands, Jeanette and George Kolb of Laurel Hill, Fla., and Annette Coburn McCay and Jeff McKay of Baton Rouge, La.; sister, Lorene Inez Nichols of Kenosha, Wisc.; sister-in-law, Josephine Watson of Vina, Ala.; grandchildren, Randy Kolb, Rosa Deck, Jason Kolb, Brad, Chad and Dayne Coburn, and Brian McKay; great-grandchildren, Shelby Kolb, and Hayden and Owen Coburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, in the chapel of Brackney Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Live Oak Park Memorial Cemetery.
