STONEY, AS LINDELL WAS KNOWN BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS WAS A MEMBER OF THE LEADINGTON FREEWILL BAPTIST CHURCH AND PAST MEMBER OF THE UNITED STEELWORKERS UNION. HE WAS A DEALER OF GUNS, WHICH WAS HIS FAVORITE HOBBY. HE ENJOYED PLAYING GUITAR AND SINGING GOSPEL SONGS. LINDELL LOVED WATCHING WESTERN MOVIES, ESPECIALLY THOSE STARRING JOHN WAYNE AND ENJOYED LISTENING TO HANK WILLIAMS SONGS. HIS FAMILY CONSIDERED HIM THE BEST HUSBAND, FATHER AND GRANDFATHER. LINDELL WILL BE LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

EDWIN WILLIS POLITTE WAS BORN FEBRUARY 21, 1920 AT RICHWOODS, MISSOURI TO LOUIS A. POLITTE AND ETHEL WILKINSON. HE DIED AT HIS HOME ON FEBRUARY 17, 2003 HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF 82 YEARS, 11 MONTHS AND 27 DAYS.
ON APRIL 8, 1940 HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO MARY CATHERINE BOYER AND TO THIS UNION 16 CHILDREN WERE BORN.
HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE CATHERINE, HIS CHILDREN, DEACON GLENNON (CAROL) OF BARNHART, EDWIN L. (NANCY) OF CADET, DEACON JERRY (VAL) OF HERCULANEUM, BILL (DIANA) OF ARNOLD, RUSS (SANDY) OF BARNHART, JIM (CAROLYN) OF CADET, DEACON STEVE (JOYCE) OF CADET, MARY ANN (DALE PRATT) OF CADET, JEANNIE BROWN OF POTOSI, MONICA (DAVID PRATT) OF CADET, JOSEPH (DEEANN) OF FESTUS, DENNIS (VICKI) OF HERCULANEUM, DAVID (KATHY) OF CADET, AND RICK (MARCIA) OF CADET. HIS BROTHER VICTOR (IRENE) OF HERCULANEUM AND TWO SISTERS DONNA VITZ OF PANA AND AUDREY (VIRGIL JARVIS) OF ST. LOUIS, ONE SISTER-IN-LAW, DOROTHY (JAMES) OF FESTUS.
EDWIN WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY TWO DAUGHTERS, INFANT JUDITH ANN AND CATHERINE (KITTY) PORTELL, TWO INFANT TWIN GRANDDAUGHTERS, KATHRYN AND KAREN POLITTE, ONE GREAT GRANDSON, KEVIN POLITTE, TWO BROTHERS, LAWRENCE AND JAMES, THREE SISTERS, GENEVIEVE BOYSTER, HENRIETTA LEWIS AND BERNICE ROSS.
ED AND CATHERINE WERE BLESSED WITH 71 GRANDCHILDREN, 82 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND 3 GREAT- GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
ED SERVED HIS COUNTRY IN THE U.S. ARMY AND WAS A DISABLED WORLD WAR II VETERAN, HAVING RECEIVED THE PURPLE HEART AND BRONZE STAR AMONG HIS MEDALS. HE NEVER LET HIS DISABILITY PREVENT HIM FROM WORKING TO RAISE A LARGE FAMILY. ED WAS CAPABLE OF MAKING FRIENDS WITH EVERYONE HE MET. ED'S CATHOLIC FAITH WAS CENTRAL IN HIS LIFE. HE WAS A MEMBER OF ST. JOACHIM CHURCH IN OLD MINES. HE WAS A CHARTER MEMBER OF KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS #5936 AND CARDINAL GLENNON 4TH DEGREE.
A VERY TALENTED CARPENTER, HIS WORKS ARE CHERISHED BY MANY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. ED WAS AN AVID CARDINAL BASEBALL FAN. HE LOVED CUTTING GRASS, PLAYING EUCHRE AND PLAYING BINGO.
HE HAD A SPECIAL PLACE IN HIS HEART FOR EACH ONE IN HIS FAMILY AND HAD A NICKNAME FOR ALMOST EACH ONE. ED'S LIFE WAS LIKE A BOOK AND HE MADE HIS PLACE IN THE CHAPTERS OF MANY LIVES. ALL WHO CAME TO KNOW HIM WILL SADLY AND FONDLY MISS HIS SMILE.

DORA WAS A MEMBER OF THE SPRINGTOWN BAPTIST CHURCH WHERE SHE ENJOYED SINGING GOSPEL MUSIC. SHE ENJOYED THE MANY GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE BY GOING CAMPING WITH FAMILY AND TAKING WALKS IN THE WOODS. DORA LIKED PLAYING SCRABBLE AND WORKING CROSSWORD AND JIGSAW PUZZLES. SHE ENJOYED GOING TO GARAGE SALES AND LOVED LOOKING AT BEAUTIFUL FLOWERS. DORA WILL BE LOVINGLY MISSED BY FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS, ESPECIALLY REV. GUY AND CINDY CONWAY, HER VERY CLOSE AND DEAR FRIENDS.
LIFE IS SO UNCERTAIN- HERE TODAY, GONE TOMORROW, SO DEAR LOVED ONES- JUST THOUGHT I WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE A NOTE JUST IN CASE I GO AHEAD OF YOU, JUST LIKE OUR BUCKY DID AHEAD OF ME- I LOVE YOU ALL VERY MUCH AND HOPE THE GOOD LORD LEAVES ME AROUND FOR QUITE AWHILE YET.
