GEORGE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO ROSEMARY DALTON ON MAY 15, 1977, IN POTOSI, MISSOURI.
GEORGE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, ROSEMARY MERRELL OF POTOSI, ONE DAUGHTER, JOANN RULO AND HUSBAND DANNY OF POTOSI. SEVEN GRANDCHILDREN, KELLY KNICHEL OF POTOSI, ROSE WOODS OF ST. LOUIS, SHEILA GOUGH OF POTOSI, DANNY RULO, JR., TAMMY CRAWFORD, TINA THURMOND, MICKEY RULO, TEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, JUSTIN GOUGH, JENNIFER RULO, SANDY KNICHEL, T.J. CRAWFORD, JEREMY THURMOND, DANNY RULO, III, BRETT WOODS, HALEY MCCONNELL, ABBIE THURMOND AND JALYNN RULO, ONE BROTHER, TOMMY MERRELL AND WIFE DE DE OF FAIRMONT, ILLINOIS, TWO SISTERS, BARBARA DUBOISE OF ARCADIA, FLORIDA, DORIS BLOODWORTH OF GRANITE CITY, ILLINOIS, AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. GEORGE, BETTER KNOWN AS SONNY TO ALL HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR THE OUTDOORS. HE ALWAYS MADE TIME TO GO HUNTING AND FISHING AND ENJOY THE MANY GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE.
A KIND AND LOVING HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, BROTHER AND DEAR FRIEND WHO WILL BE SADLY MISSED AND LOVINGLY REMEMBERED.
VISITATION WAS HELD WEDNESDAY, APRIL 28, 1999, FROM 4:30 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED THURSDAY, APRIL 29, 1999, AT 2:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON CHAPEL WITH BROTHER JOHN EMILY OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN SUNSET HILL CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.

SHIRLEY MAY HUGHES OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 1937 IN COLUMBUS JUNCTION, IOWA A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE THOMAS REXFORD WOODRUFF AND MYRA VIVIAN (BODEN) WOODRUFF. SHIRLEY DEPARTED THIS LIFE TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 9, 2003 AT THE POTOSI MANOR NURSING CENTER, POTOSI, MISSOURI AT THE AGE OF SIXTY-FIVE YEARS, NINE MONTHS AND TWENTY-FOUR DAYS.
SHIRLEY WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THURMAN HUGHES JUNE 5, 1957 IN CAIRO, IOWA. THEY WERE BLESSED TO HAVE THREE WONDERFUL CHILDREN BORN TO THE UNION.
SHIRLEY IS SURVIVED BY HER LOVING AND DEVOTED HUSBAND OF FORTY- SIX YEARS, THURMAN HUGHES OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; ONE DAUGHTER AND SON-IN- LAW, KRISTINA DIANE AND PHILIP WALLACE OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; TWO SONS AND DAUGHTERS-IN-LAW, KENDALL D. AND DONNA HUGHES OF PARK HILLS, MISSOURI AND JAMES GREGORY AND KIMBERLEE HUGHES OF POTOSI, MISSOURI; SIX LOVING GRANDCHILDREN, HEIDI AND HOLLI WALLACE, KENDRA, DANIELLE, SETH AND KYLE HUGHES; ONE SISTER DOROTHY BUFFINGTON AND HUSBAND DELBERT OF WAPELLO, IOWA; THREE BROTHERS AND SISTERS-IN-LAW, HAROLD AND MARILYN WOODRUFF OF BURLINGTON, IOWA, THOMAS AND DORIS WOODRUFF OF DAVENPORT, IOWA, DELBERT AND DOROTHY WOODRUFF OF SPERRY, IOWA; BROTHER-IN-LAW DEAN HIXSON OF NEW MARTINSVILLE, WEST VIRGINIA, MANY NIECES, NEPHEWS AND OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. SHIRLEY HAD ACCEPTED CHRIST AS HER SAVIOR AND WAS A LONG TIME MEMBER OF CHURCHES OF GOD IN IOWA AND MISSOURI WHERE SHE WAS A SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER, PLAYED PIANO AND SANG ALSO. SHE WAS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE POTOSI PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
SHIRLEY WAS ACTIVE IN MANY COMMUNITY EVENTS AND CHURCH WOMEN'S ORGANIZATIONS. SHE WAS A FORMER MEMBER OF A BOWLING LEAGUE AND WAS A BUS DRIVER FOR FIFTEEN YEARS WITH THE POTOSI R-3 SCHOOL DISTRICT.
SHIRLEY ALWAYS LOOKED FORWARD TO SEEING HER FAMILY AND ESPECIALLY SEEING A GRANDCHILDS SMILING FACE WALK THROUGH HER DOOR. SHE ENJOYED THE VISITS AND CHERISHED EACH IN HER HEART.
VISITATION WAS HELD THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2003 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2003 FROM 8:30 A.M. TO 10:00 A.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI, MISSOURI.

PEARL DEPARTED THIS LIFE WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 2003 AT THE WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AT THE AGE OF ONE HUNDRED AND ONE YEARS AND FIFTEEN DAYS.
PEARL WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO HARTIE DICKEY IN BELGRADE, MISSOURI MARCH 17, 1926. THEY WERE BLESSED TO HAVE FOUR CHILDREN BORN TO THE UNION.

PEARL TAUGHT SCHOOL FOR A FEW YEARS BEFORE UNITING IN MARRIAGE TO HER HUSBAND. AFTER HER MARRIAGE SHE DEVOTED HER LIFE TO HER FARMING HUSBAND, CHILDREN, GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN.
PEARL WAS A MEMBER OF THE BELGRADE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH AND A SEVENTY-FIVE YEAR PLUS MEMBER OF THE BELGRADE CHAPTER #394 ORDER OF EASTERN STAR.
PEARL LOVED TO SPEND TIME QUILTING AND CROCHETING. SHE WOULD TAKE SPECIAL TIME TO CLIP ITEMS AND PHOTOS TO ASSEMBLE A SCRAPBOOK TO CHERISH THE MEMORIES. ONE OF HER GREATEST LOVE WAS HER GRANDCHILDREN, SHE ALWAYS HAD THE TIME AND STRENGTH TO ROCK THEM AND GIVE THAT LITTLE EXTRA LOVE THEY NEEDED FROM HER.
PEARL ENJOYED HER LOVING FAMILY AND THE MANY FRIENDS WHO VISITED HER. SHE LOOKED FORWARD EACH YEAR TO A CELEBRATION OF HER BIRTHDAY AND THE MANY OTHER FAMILY GATHERINGS.

AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL CONDUCTED BY THE BELGRADE CHAPTER #394 ORDER OF THE EASTERN STAR.

BESSIE DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT THE FOUNTAINBLEAU NURSING CENTER, FESTUS, MISSOURI FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 2003 AT THE AGE OF EIGHTY-SIX YEARS, ELEVEN MONTHS AND TWENTY-ONE DAYS.
BESSIE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO OMAN LUTHER POWELL ON APRIL 11, 1942 IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI. THEY WERE BLESSED TO HAVE ONE SON BORN TO THE UNION. OMAN PRECEDED BESSIE IN DEATH JULY 3, 1997.

BESSIE ENJOYED THE MANY ACTIVITIES AND ADVENTURES OF HER LIFE. SHE WAS VERY PROUD OF HER MANY FRIENDS IN THE CALEDONIA AREA. SHE LOVED TO VISIT WITH HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS. BESSIE CONTINUED TO BE VERY ACTIVE WHEN SHE MOVED TO THE NURSING CENTER WHERE SHE WOULD COLOR AND PAINT POSTERS FOR HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS AT THE NURSING CENTER AND ALWAYS ENJOYED JOINING IN ALL THE ACTIVITIES.

CLAUDE LOVED THE MANY GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE AND ENJOYED SPENDING TIME GAZING AT HER BEAUTY. HE WAS AN AVID HUNTER AND FISHERMAN. CLAUDE ALWAYS TOOK TIME TO PICK AND SING WITH HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE ENJOYED FAMILY GATHERINGS AND WAS ALWAYS READY TO PITCH A GAME OF HORSE SHOES. CLAUDE ENJOYED PACKING UP AND TRAVELING ALL OVER THE UNITED STATES.
CLAUDE WAS A HARD AND DEDICATED WORKER, HE WORKED IN THE TIMBER INDUSTRY MOST OF HIS LIFE. HE TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN HOOKING UP HIS TEAM OF HORSES AND HEADING OUT TO LOG FOR THE DAY.

IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS, DONNIE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SON LONNIE BARTON; TWO SISTERS, LOUELLA ROGERS AND IRENE DECLUE; THREE BROTHERS, ALVIE BARTON, LONNIE BARTON AND RICKEY BARTON.
DONNIE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR MOTHER NATURE AND ENJOYED BEING IN THE OUTDOORS. HE LOVED TO FISH AND HUNT WITH HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS. HE ENJOYED THE TIMES SPENT AT FAMILY GATHERINGS AND ALWAYS SEEMED TO BRING A SMILE TO YOUR FACE. DONNIE WILL BE SADLY MISSED AND LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO KNEW HIM.
VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2003 FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AND MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2003 FROM 10:00 A.M. TO 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2003 AT 1:00 P.M. AT THE MOORE MEMORIAL CHAPEL WITH REVEREND LEON MOSIER OFFICIATING. MUSICAL SELECTIONS PLAYED FOR THE FUNERAL SERVICE WERE "THE OLD RUGGED CROSS", "POUR OUT THE RAIN", "DADDY'S HAND" AND "ANGELS AMONG US". SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE DONNIE BARTON, JR., RANDY ROLENS, RODRIGO RAMIREZ, STEVE DECLUE, DONNIE DAVIS AND KENNY DAVIS. BURIAL WAS IN THE ST. FRANCOIS MEMORIAL PARK, BONNE TERRE, MISSOURI.
SERVICES WERE ENTRUSTED TO THE CARE AND DIRECTION OF THE MOORE FUNERAL HOMES, POTOSI, MISSOURI.
