LAWRENCE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO JOANNE HOUK ON MARCH 2, 1968, IN ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI, AND TO THIS UNION ONE SON WAS BORN.
LAWRENCE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, JOANNE CORDER OF ST. LOUIS, ONE SON, BRANT LAWRENCE CORDER OF ST. LOUIS, THREE SISTERS, DELLA ADAMS OF POTOSI, EDNA ROWE OF POTOSI, ALTA GARNER AND HUSBAND NORMAN OF CARLINVILLE, ILLINOIS AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HIS PARENTS HE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY FIVE BROTHERS, RALPH, RAYMOND, ROLLIN, CHARLES AND HARRY CORDER, AND ONE SISTER JESSIE CORDER.
LAWRENCE WAS A VETERAN OF THE UNITED STATES ARMY WHERE HE SERVED IN NORTHERN FRANCE AND THROUGHOUT EUROPE, AND WAS AWARDED A PURPLE HEART AND FIVE BRONZE STARS. DURING HIS RETIREMENT YEARS HE SERVED AS A SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD AND WAS A PARK RANGER IN OVERLAND, MISSOURI. LAWRENCE HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR THE GIFTS OF MOTHER NATURE AND GAVE BACK TO HER BEAUTY WITH HIS LOVE OF FLOWER GARDENING. HE ENJOYED RELAXING WATCHING WHEEL OF FORTUNE AND BEING ABREAST OF LOCAL, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EVENTS BY WATCHING CNN. WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE OF INTERNATIONAL EVENTS HE ENJOYED SOLVING WORLDLY PROBLEMS WITH HIS FRIENDS AT CHARLIE'S RESTAURANT.
VISITATION WAS HELD WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 6, 1999, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT THE GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.
FUNERAL SERVICES WERE CONDUCTED THURSDAY, JANUARY 7, 1999, AT 2:00 P.M. WITH ELDER LEONARD COMPTON AND REVEREND KEVIN FITZGERALD OFFICIATING. BURIAL WAS IN CALEDONIA METHODIST CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF GUM & SON FUNERAL HOME, POTOSI.
SERVING AS PALLBEARERS WERE, STAN HOUK, GARY MORRISON, RON ADAMS, GARY ADAMS, JUSTIN ADAMS AND KEVIN ADAMS.

LOLA GLADYS GREEN OF IRONDALE, MISSOURI, WAS BORN JUNE 26, 1910, IN MARGUARD, MISSOURI A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE ROLAND AND ANNIE MAE (ASLINGER) COBB. LOLA DEPARTED THIS LIFE SEPTEMBER 17, 1999, AT NATIONAL HEALTH CARE OF DESLOGE HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY-NINE YEARS, TWO MONTHS AN TWENTY-ONE DAYS.
LOLA WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE JESSE GREEN ON JULY 5, 1942, IN MARBLE HILL, MISSOURI.
LOLA IS SURVIVED BY ONE SISTER, CLARICE BEAM OF ODESSA, TEXAS AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND SPOUSE SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY TWO SONS, THOMAS W. AND JIMMY HARRISON, THREE BROTHERS, R.E., PAUL AND WILLIS COBB, THREE SISTERS, RUBY AND MARY COBB AND BESSIE GREEN.
LOLA HAD A GREAT LOVE FOR MANKIND ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP A NEIGHBOR OR A FRIEND. LOLA AND HER LATE HUSBAND JESSE ENJOYED SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY WORKING HARD BOTH IN THEIR JOBS AND IN THEIR HOME, AND WERE VERY DEDICATED TO THE TEACHINGS OF THE LORD.
LOLA WAS A KIND AND LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, SISTER AND CHERISHED FRIEND WHO WILL BE SADLY MISSED AND LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER.

JOHNSON, JR. AND WIFE TERI OF MINERAL POINT, JOHN PATRICK JOHNSON AND WIFE CORRINA OF WEST LAFAYETTE, INDIANA, TWO DAUGHTERS, MARVA MARIE CLAY AND HUSBAND MICHAEL OF KIRKSVILLE, ESTELLA A. BUTLER AND FIANCE' WESLEY MARSHALL OF MINERAL POINT, FOURTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, TWO SISTERS, PATIENCE ROBINSON OF POTOSI, ROSE GRAY OF POTOSI, HIS MOTHER-IN- LAW, ESTELLA DUNCAN OF MINERAL POINT, HIS AUNT, MARGARET M. CASEY OF MINERAL POINT AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. MARVIN WAS A UNITED STATES ARMY VETERAN HAVING SERVED HIS COUNTRY WITH THE UTMOST LOVE AND RESPECT. MARVIN'S KIND HEARTEDNESS AND LOVE FOR MAN GUIDED HIM TO TAKE CHARGE OF MANY ACTIVITIES, INVOLVEMENT IN LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND HE WAS REWARDED RESPECT FROM MANY FELLOW PEOPLE. MARVIN WAS A CHARTER MEMBER OF THE MINERAL POINT LIONS CLUB, HAD SERVED AS ALDERMAN FOR THE VILLAGE OF MINERAL POINT AND SERVED AS A POLICE OFFICER FOR THE VILLAGE. MARVIN GREATLY ENJOYED VISITING WITH PEOPLE, HE WAS VERY PROUD OF HIS FAMILY AND LOVED TO BOAST ABOUT THEM. HE ENJOYED SPORTS ESPECIALLY FOOTBALL AND TOOK GREAT PRIDE IN HIS SONS AND THEIR INVOLVEMENT IN SPORTS. MARVIN WAS NOT ONLY KNOWN AS A GREAT CHEF BY FAMILY BUT ALSO BY HIS MANY FRIENDS HE WAS ESPECIALLY NOTED FOR HIS FAMOUS BAR-B-Q. MARVIN ENJOYED LISTENING TO JAZZ MUSIC WHILE RELAXING.

RUTH HOWARD OF POTOSI, MISSOURI, WAS BORN OCTOBER 2, 1904, IN RICHWOODS, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE BAUGHER EMS AND LULA (ROSE) MURDICK. RUTH DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT WASHINGTON COUNTY MEMORIAL HOSPITAL ON SEPTEMBER 23, 1999, HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF NINETY-FOUR YEARS, ELEVEN MONTHS AND TWENTY-ONE DAYS.
RUTH WAS UNITED TO THE LATE ELMER CLEVELAND HOWARD IN MAY OF 1927, IN ST. CLAIR, MISSOURI.
RUTH IS SURVIVED BY ONE DAUGHTER, AVIS MARIE HOWARD PARKER OF POTOSI, FIFTEEN GRANDCHILDREN, TWENTY-SEVEN GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, SEVEN GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN, ONE BROTHER, CLAUDE MURDICK AND WIFE ETHEL OF ST. CLAIR AND BY MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND SPOUSE SHE WAS ALSO PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SON, DANIEL LEE (BUD) HOWARD, ONE DAUGHTER, INFANT BETTY RUTH HOWARD, ONE GRANDDAUGHTER, SON-IN-LAW, COWELL PARKER, THREE SISTERS, LORETTA TRIGG, LEOMA HATCHER, EDNA SULLIVAN, FOUR BROTHERS, PETE, JOHN, CHARLES AND CHESTER MURDICK.
RUTH WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH OF ST. CLAIR, SHE ENJOYED QUILTING AND CROCHETING NOT ONLY FOR THE CHURCH BAZAAR BUT AS GIFTS FOR BOTH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. RUTH ENJOYED MANY VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES AND MEMBERSHIPS IN THE REBEKAH LODGE OF ST. CLAIR AND THE VFW LADIES AUXILIARY WHERE SHE HAD SERVED AS TREASURER.
A KIND AND LOVING MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, SISTER AND TREASURED FRIEND WHO WILL BE SADLY MISSED AND LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER.

LUCILLE DOROTHY EVANS OF POTOSI, MISSOURI WAS BORN TUESDAY, APRIL 17, 1917 IN CADET, MISSOURI, A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE JOSEPH ANTHONY "BOSS" AND MARY NEALIA (DEAN) COURTOIS. LUCILLE DIED THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 1999 AT THE MINERAL AREA REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER HAVING REACHED THE AGE OF EIGHTY-TWO YEARS, FIVE MONTHS AND SIX DAYS.
LUCILLE WAS A LONGTIME MEMBER OF THE ST. JAMES CATHOLIC CHURCH PARISH, WHERE SHE WAS ACTIVE IN THE ST. VINCENT DEPAUL SOCIETY AND VOLUNTEERED IN THE ST. JAMES GIFT SHOP.
LUCILLE IS SURVIVED BY TWO SONS, JAMES BURL PORTELL AND WIFE BARBARA OF POTOSI, WILLIAM G. PORTELL OF POTOSI; ONE DAUGHTER, RUTH ANN SODERBLOM OF POTOSI; FIVE GRANDCHILDREN, DORIS COFFMAN, LADONNA FAIN, LARRY JOE PORTELL, DAVID NEWCOMER AND KAREN GOLDEN; EIGHT GREAT GRAND CHILDREN; ONE BROTHER, HAROLD COURTOIS AND WIFE PATSY OF MINERAL POINT; THREE SISTERS, LOUISE BONE OF POTOSI, ALBERTA MAXWELL OF POTOSI AND ROBERTA COOPER AND HUSBAND NEIL OF LEADINGTON, MANY NIECES, NEPHEWS AND OTHER RELATIVES AND FRIENDS. LUCILLE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, THREE BROTHERS, BERNARD COURTOIS, JACK COURTOIS AND GEORGE COURTOIS, ONE SISTER, STELLA BOEHM AND BY TWO HUSBANDS, EARL JOSEPH PORTELL AND DAVE J. EVANS.
LUCILLE OWNED AND OPERATED THE EAST END RESTAURANT IN THE 1950'S AND A FURNITURE AND ANTIQUE STORE IN OLD MINES. SHE OWNED HER OWN GROCERY STORE IN POTOSI AND LATER WORKED AT THE COURTOIS IGA FOR SEVERAL YEARS. LUCILLE LOVED PEOPLE AND HER LAST LOVED FILLED JOB LED HER TO THE SAYERS SENIOR CENTER WHERE SHE HELPED AND ENJOYED ALL OF HER FRIENDS.
VISITATION WAS HELD SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 1999, FROM 5:00 P.M. TO 9:00 P.M. AT MOORE FUNERAL HOME IN POTOSI.

MARY CATHERINE REDD OF DOE RUN MISSOURI, WAS BORN AUGUST 6, 1927 IN FOUNTAIN FARM, MISSOURI. A DAUGHTER OF THE LATE LAWRENCE AND MARY TROKEY (POLITTE). MARY DEPARTED THIS LIFE ON SEPTEMBER 21, 1999 AT HER RESIDENCE IN DOE RUN AT THE AGE OF SEVENTY TWO YEARS, ONE MONTH AND FIFTEEN DAYS.
MARY WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE TO THE LATE CLARENCE HENRY REDD ON JUNE 6, 1945 IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND OF THIS UNION FOUR CHILDREN WERE BORN.
MARY LEAVES TO SURVIVE TWO DAUGHTERS, MARY KELLY OF DOE RUN, MISSOURI, AND SHARON TEAL AND FIANCE' MIKE MESEY OF ST. LOUIS, MISSOURI. TWO SONS, DUKE AND WIFE JACKIE REDD OF IMPERIAL, MISSOURI, AND DAKOTA AND WIFE PAM REDD OF ST. CHARLES, MISSOURI. TWO SISTERS, CECILIA TROKEY OF MINERAL POINT, MISSOURI AND MARGIE AUBUCHON OF POTOSI, MISSOURI. SHE WILL ALSO BE SADLY MISSED BY EIGHTEEN GRANDCHILDREN AND TWENTY ONE GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. IN ADDITION TO HER PARENTS AND SPOUSE SHE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY ONE SISTER, THERSIA AMBUEHL AND ONE BROTHER, LINNEUS TROKEY.
MARY RETIRED IN 1996 FROM ST. ANTHONY'S MEDICAL CENTER. MARY ENJOYED SPENDING TIME WITH HER FAMILY AND SHE TOUCHED EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM IN A SPECIAL WAY. SHE ENJOYED SEWING, EMBROIDERING AND GARDENING. SHE SPENT MUCH ENJOYABLE TIME WITH HER SISTERS CANNING AND BAKING. SHE LOVED TO TRAVEL WHEN TIME PERMITTED. MARY WAS A WONDERFUL AND LOVING AUNT TO ALL OF HER NIECES AND NEPHEWS WHO WERE ALL VERY PRECIOUS TO HER. SHE WAS A KIND AND LOVING WIFE, MOTHER, GRANDMOTHER, SISTER, AUNT AND FRIEND WHO WILL BE SO VERY SADLY MISSED BY ALL WHO KNEW AND LOVED HER.
