ELEANOR K. ABEL
(1914-2001)
PEKIN - Eleanor Kathryn Abel, 86, of 911 Audubon Drive in Pekin died at 8:35 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2001 at Morton Villa Nursing Center in Morton.
Born September 11, 1914 in Hollis Township, Peoria County to Henry George and Kathryn Louise Cose Graber, she married Erven George Abel on April 18, 1953 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, John Phillip (Judy) Abel of Pekin; one grandson, Shane Christopher Abel of Washington; three sisters, Bernadine A. Gollon of Mapleton, Hilda R. Psinas and Esther J. Davidson, both of Pekin and one brother, Edward Graber of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
She was a graduate of Hollis Grade School and in 1932 graduated from the Academy of Our Lady in Peoria.
She worked for the American Distilling Company in Pekin for 44 years, retiring in February of 1978 as the assistant treasurer and cashier.
Mrs. Abel was a charter member of the Pekin Emblem Club No. 424. She also was a member of the Pekin Hospital Auxiliary and formerly volunteered for the American Red Cross in Pekin. She loved birds and flowers and annually helped with the marigold plantings in Pekin. In 1989, she and her husband were selected and served as the grand marshals of the Pekin Marigold Festival.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin.
Her funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2001 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pekin. The Rev. Timothy Nolan will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, August 12, 2001 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, with an Emblem Club service at 7 p.m. The recitation of the rosary will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Additional visitation will be one half-hour before to services Monday at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.

DONALD W. "TUCK" WOULFE
(1953-2001)
Manito - Donald Wayne "Tuck" Woulfe, 48, of 1017 South Collins Street in Manito, died at 4:40 p.m. Monday, July 30, 2001 at his residence.
Born June 3, 1953 in St. Elmo to Donald F. and Delight A. Rhodes Woulfe, he married Barbara A. Riley on February 9, 1981 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Delight A. Callaway of Pekin; one son, Eric R. (Michelle) Madden of Pekin and one daughter, Amber N. Woulfe of Manito; three grandchildren, Kailey Langloss, Brittnie Langloss and Ryan R. Madden, all of Pekin; four brothers, Danny (Sherry) Woulfe and David (Gail) Woulfe, both of Green Valley, Robert Woulfe of Manito and Randy (Pam) Callaway of Pekin; and four sisters, Cathy (Dave) Snider of Manito, Debbie (Bill) Kirk of Armington, Tina (George) Rudd of Glasford and Tami Frye of Pekin.
His father preceded him in death.
He was a 1971 graduate of Green Valley High School.
He worked for Caterpillar, Inc. as a chipper at the Mapleton Foundry for seven years, last working in February 2001.
He was a diehard Indianapolis Colts football fan.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2001 at the Forest City Community Church in Forest City. The Rev. Thomas B. Guengerich will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight (Wednesday) at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.

JUDY A. STANFEL

PEKIN - Judy A. Stanfel, 60, of 2813 Elm Street in Fargo, North Dakota, died Monday, July 30, 2001 in Meritcare Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota. She was formerly of Pekin.
Born January 15, 1941 in Pekin to William Joseph and Joyce B. Bly Mefford, she married William Stanfel on December 20, 1964 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Joyce Mefford of St. Charles, Missouri; one sister, Linda (Robert) Irwin of St. Peters, Missouri and one nephew, Jason Irwin of St. Peters.
Her father preceded her in death on September 10, 1998 in Pekin.
She grew up and attended school in Pekin, graduating from Pekin Community High School in 1959. Judy worked as a surgical technician at Pekin Hospital for a short time. She returned to school, graduating from the Graham Hospital School of Nursing of Canton in 1964. Mr. and Mrs. Stanfel moved to Forest Park, Illinois following their marriage. Judy then worked as a surgical RN at the West Suburban Hospital of Oak Park. The couple moved on to Fargo in 1968. Judy worked as a surgical nurse at Dakota Hospital and Dakota Heartland Hospital, where she was presently employed.
Judy spent many summer days at the families lake home on Cotton Lake, Minnesota. She enjoyed the outdoors, observing birds and animals. She loved children and was "Grandma Judy" to all her co-workers' children. Her favorite pastime was sending cards and letters to friends and family. A special person in Judy's life was her Godson, Travers Behlmer. Judy's passion has always been nursing.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2001 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Timothy Nolan will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

EAST PEORIA - Brenda Lynn Daigle, 47, of 1440 Highview Road, East Peoria, died at 4:05 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2001 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center Emergency Room in Peoria.
Born June 15, 1954 in Eastport, Maine to Donald Raye and Joan Barbara Flaherty Barrett, she married Raymond Earle Daigle on January 29, 1977 in Orono, Maine. He survives.
Also surviving are her parents of Orrington, Maine; two sons, Brian J, (Amanda) Daigle of Foley, Alabama and Nicholas R. Daigle of Columbus, Ohio; one daughter, Alicia L. Daigle of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Gerald (Jill) Barrett of Orrington, Maine; two sisters, Nancy Springer of Bangor, Maine and Cindy (Jeff) Black of Bucksport, Maine; five nephews; and one niece.
Her grandparents preceded her in death.
She was a 1972 graduate of Brewer High School in Brewer, Maine

WASHINGTON - Eva Mae Longenecker, 85, of 1110 New Castle Road, Washington, died at 7:22 a.m. Sunday, July 29, 2001 at Washington Christian Village in Washington.
She was born May 1, 1916 in Fairfield to George Reuben and Carrie Crews Doty.
Surviving is one brother, Jesse F. (Nancy) Doty of Green Valley, Arizona; one sister, Florence (Thomas) Swords of Waverly, Indiana; three nieces; and one nephew.
Her parents, one infant son, and two brothers preceded her in death.
Mrs. Longenecker was a licensed practical nurse in California for many years.
Private graveside services will be Thursday, August 2, 2001 at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin. There will be no visitation.

CANTON - R. Lillie Althiser, 87, of 190 East Queenwood Road, Morton, died at 6:05 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2001 at Pekin Hospital. She was formerly of Canton.
Born October 7, 1913 in Canton to Clark and Martha Ford Skillman, she married Woodrow Wilson Althiser on July 2, 1930 in Lewistown.
Surviving are one son, Woodrow W. "Bud" Althiser of Pekin; three grandchildren, Timothy L. (Leigh) Althiser, Sue E. Klein, and Mary Ann (Tim) Godby, all of Pekin; six great-grandchildren; and one half-brother, Harold (Bessie) Ramsey of Pekin.
Her parents, step-father (Grover Ramsey), one sister, and one brother preceded her in death.
A homemaker, Mrs. Althiser enjoyed to sew.

PEKIN - Mildred Louise Clark, 72, of 1201 Maple St., died at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, July 26, 2001 in the emergency room at Pekin Hospital.
Born December 9, 1928 in Hutchinson, Kansas, she was a daughter of Fred and Dolores Rominger Bardwell. She married William F. Clark on June 15, 1946 in Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her husband on October 2, 1969 in Topeka, IL; twin sons, Ronald and Donald Clark, 1 grandson, Clark James Herchenroder, 1 brother and 2 half-brothers.
Surviving are 1 daughter, Pam (Stan) Herchenroder of Pekin; 1 son, William (Diane) Clark of Morton; 4 grandchildren; and 1 great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Clark worked as a sales clerk at 14th Street Hardware Store in Pekin for 20 years, retiring in 1989.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2001 at Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin. Rev. Terry C. Edele will officiate. There will be no visitation.

EAST PEORIA - Marvin Wayne "Jack" Webb, 89, of 339 Matheny Road died at 12:10 a.m., Sunday, July 22, 2001 at his home.
Born August 1, 1911 in Oxford, Mississippi, he was a son of William Silas and Daisy Ann Taylor Webb. He married Lanie Mae Hardin on December 10, 1949 in Oxford.
Surviving are his wife; 3 sons, Silas Wayne (Debbie) Webb of Pekin, James Andrew (Nancy) Webb of Peoria and Charles (Belinda) Hanson of Creve Coeur; 2 daughters, Bonnie Kathryn (Bill) Lovell of Creve Coeur and Regina Louise (Pat) Walker of Pekin; 15 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Mr. Webb was employed by Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 25 years, retiring as a hand truck operator in 1977. He also farmed in East Peoria. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II.

PEKIN - Thomas Howard Williams, 57, of 1106 Highland Avenue, Pekin, died at 7:15 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2001 at his residence.
Born September 12, 1943 in Pierce City, Missouri to Howard Omer and Laura Irene Palmer Williams, he married Donna Jo Mangan on July 15, 1965 in Springfield, Missouri. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Kimberly J. Beal of Pekin and Tonya L. (Tim) Cassidy of Bloomington; four grandchildren, Sarah N. Beal of Pekin and Lauren L. Cassidy, Madison A. Cassidy, and Ryan T. Cassidy, all of Bloomington; one brother, David W. (Mary) Williams of Costa Mesa, California; one sister, Connie I. (Ron) Arnold of Springfield, Missouri; three nephews; three nieces; and four great-nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Williams worked at Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria for 30 years as an electrician, retiring May 1, 1996. He also owned and operated Williams Heating and Air Conditioning, Inc. in Pekin for the past several years.
He was a member of the United Auto Workers Local #974 in East Peoria. He also was a member and Vice Commandore of the Pekin Boat Club.
He enjoyed boating.

PEKIN - Geneva Katherine Zimmerman, 94, of 1520 El Camino Drive died at 8:10 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Pekin Hospital. She was formerly of Forest City.
She was born August 9, 1906 in Mason County, Illinois to John and Rebecca Robinson Zimmerman. Her parents, four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.
Miss Zimmerman worked 38 years in the chemistry lab at Corn Products Company in Pekin, retiring in 1971.
She was a member of the Forest City Community Church.
She also was a member of the retirees club at CPC and Royal Neighbors of America.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Thomas B. Guengerich will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mason City Cemetery in Mason City.

ROBERT V. CLEVENGER
(1921-2001)
PEKIN - Robert V. Clevenger, 79, of 1011 Monroe Street, a prominent Pekin attorney, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, July 15, 2001 at his home.
Born July 23, 1921 in Hancock, Michigan to Arthur W. and Yolande Elwood Clevenger, he married Dorothy Jean Marsh on September 18, 1943 in Belleville. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Arthur E Clevenger of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Darley Y. (John T. Roy) Clevenger of Reed City, Michigan and Mary C. (Millard, III) Johnson of Madison, Wisconsin and four grandchildren, Jacques D. Roy of St. Paul, Minnesota, Travis A. Roy of Reed City, Lindsay C. Johnson and Kale G. Johnson, both of Madison.
His parents and two infant brothers preceded him in death.
There will be no services or visitation. He arranged to donate his body to medical science. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at his residence.

He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in the European Theater and attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He also served in the U.S. Army reserves during the Korean War.
He attended Earlham College in Richmond, Indiana and received his bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois in 1942, before his military service. He graduated from the University of Illinois School of Law, was admitted to the bar in 1947, and immediately began the general practice of law in Pekin. He retired in 1984, but continued with some law practice for a number of years.
He was a Tazewell County Assistant State's Attorney in the 1950s and later a Special Assistant State's Attorney. He was appointed and served as Public Guardian and Conservator of Tazewell County from 1961-69. He served as the attorney for the Village of Mackinaw 1967-83, Village of Armington 1968-83, East Peoria Police and Fire Commission 1968-83 and Deer Creek-Mackinaw Community Unit School District 701 for many years. He argued many cases in the Appellate Courts.
He was President of the Tazewell County Bar Association in 1955-56 and was honored as a 50-year member in 1998. Over the years, he served as chairman of many of its committees. He also was President of the Third District Federation of Local Bar Associations in 1963.
Mr. Clevenger was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Pekin since 1948, serving as President in 1956, as secretary during the 1960s and as a longtime committee chairman. He was elected the Lieutenant Governor of Division 20 of the Illinois-Eastern Iowa District of Kiwanis in 1965 and was the District Chairman of the Committee for Support of Churches and Spiritual Aims in 1966. He was currently serving as Treasurer of the Kiwanis I-I District, Division 20, Past Lieutenant Governors Association since 1970. He was named Kiwanian of the year in 1985 and in October 1996, the Kiwanis Club of Pekin bestowed the George F. Hixson Fellowship Award upon him.
An adult leader of the Boy Scouts of America, he served as Scoutmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Chairman, Assistant Cubmaster, Pack Committee Chairman, Explorer Adviser, Merit Badge Counselor, Dean of Merit Badge Counselors and Vice Chairman of Tomahawk District, was a member of Order of the Arrow, and was a recipient of the Scouter's Award and the Silver Beaver Award.
In the area of crime-reduction, he served as President and Secretary of the Pekin Safeguard Against Crime Committee, President of the Tri-County Anti-Crime Project, was one of the original founders and a longtime director of the Peoria Area Crime Stoppers. He headed up funding appeals for Crime Stoppers for several years and was named director-emeritus.
Devoted to world peace, he was President for many years of the Greater Peoria Area Chapter of the World Federalists Association, was Vice-President for Illinois of the Midwest Region of the World Federalists Association and was co-chairman for Illinois of its political action committee. He served as a member of the Committee on Regional Organizations and Regional Development of International Law and on a Special Committee on the Review of the United Nations Charter of the World Peace through Law Center. He was a member of the United Nations Association.
A strong believer in civil liberties and civil rights, he was one of the original founders of the Peoria Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union, served as attorney for that organization in a number of civil liberties cases, and was again elected to its Board of Directors in 1990. He was Chairman of the Tazewell Citizens Committee on Human Relations in 1967 and was presented an award by that organization in 1968 for outstanding contributions to the cause of better human relations.
He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Pekin Coalition for Equality in 1990 and served that organization in a number of capacities. He was until his death a member of Amnesty International, served as one of its Freedom Writers and as a member of its Urgent Action Council. He was also a member of the Tri-County Urban League, the NAACP and the International League for Human Rights. In 1999 the Pekin YWCA awarded Clevenger the One Imperative Award for working toward eliminating racism and promoting improved relations between people of varying cultures.
As Chairman of the Pekin Kiwanis Community Services Committee, Attorney Clevenger, in 1985, initiated the idea of a Pekin Economic Development Commission as a vehicle for attacking Pekin's economic problems. He led the campaign for the adoption by the City Council of an ordinance creating such a commission. He then served for several years on that commission. The late former Mayor Larry Homerin called Clevenger "the father of the Pekin Economic Development Commission."
As Tazewell County Chairman of the Illinois Committee for Constitutional Revision, in 1950, Clevenger headed the campaign locally for the adoption of the "Gateway Amendment," the adoption of which enabled constitutional reform and eventually lead to the adoption of the Illinois Constitution of 1970. He chaired the Local Affairs Committee of the Pekin Association of Commerce that, after a two-year study, recommended in 1960 that the City of Pekin adopt the Council-Manager form of government. In 1962, Clevenger was one of the major campaigners for the adoption of the new Judicial Article to the Constitution of Illinois, the adoption of which led to an Illinois unified court system. As Chairman of the Legislative Reform Committee of the Pekin Area Chamber of Commerce, Clevenger in 1979 and 1980 headed up locally the victorious drive to amend the Illinois constitution to reduce the size of the legislature and eliminate cumulative voting.
As a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin, Clevenger served as Chairman of its Social Concerns Commission (1967-70), Chairman of its Church & Society Commission (1987-90), Chairman of its Staff-Parish Relations Committee (1991-93), on its Council on Ministries and Administrative Board. He also served the church on a number of other committees. He was a member of the United Methodist Men at the church.
Clevenger served on the Tazewell County Miller Senior Citizens Board from 1989 to 1992 and headed up some of its fund appeals. He was the first President of Pekin Edison School's Parent-Teacher Association (1954-55) and again its President in 1962-63. He was President of the Pekin Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (1955-56).
He served as Pekin Township Chairman of the Democratic Party (1950-52), served as the Justice of the Peace for Pekin Township (1949-53), Democratic Precinct Committeeman (1972-74) and as a member of the Tazewell County Democratic Central Committee (1972-74).
He was a member of the organizing committee of Pekin Hope, Inc. (1982-84). He served as Judge Advocate of the Pekin Boat Club, Adjutant and Judge Advocate of William Schaefer American Legion Post 44, and was Chairman of the Legal Committee of the former Pekin Downtown Business Association.
He served on the steering committee for Church World Service's local CROP walk, an annual campaign to reduce world hunger, and as a walker, Clevenger for several years was the leading fundraising participant.
He was a discussion leader for the annual "Great Decisions" series on foreign policy held at the Dirksen Congressional Research Center in Pekin.
In 1988, he and his wife were named Grand Marshals of the Christmas Parade. He also served as a member of the Pekin Post Office's Customer Advisory Council (1993-1997). Clevenger is listed in "Who's Who in America" and "Who's Who in the World."
EARL M. PARKER, JR.
(1934-2001)
PEKIN - Earl M. Parker, Jr., 66, of 1492 North Lamb Boulevard in Las Vegas, Nevada, died at 9:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, 2001 at his residence. He was formerly of Pekin.
He was born October 6, 1934 in Memphis, Tennessee to Earl M., Sr. and Geneva E. Webb Parker. His parents preceded him in death.
Surviving are two brothers, Sidney W. (and Marie) Parker of rural Pekin and Ben R. (and Joyce) Parker of Charlotte Hall, Maryland; two nephews, Bradley S. Parker of Pekin and Todd Parker of Charlotte Hall and two nieces, Lisa M. Parker of Pekin and Angela (Craig) Leavitt of Charlotte Hall.
He served for more than 20 years with the United States Air Force as a computer specialist, attaining the rank of Master Sergeant.
Following retirement from the military in 1972, he worked as a journeyman pressman in Sarasota, Florida, Houston, Texas and San Diego, California. He retired to Las Vegas.
He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 23, 2001 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Betty A. Hornback will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, with military rites accorded by the United States Air Force.

CREVE COEUR - Benjamin Lewis Sutter, Sr., 52, of 336 Maplewood, Creve Coeur, was pronounced dead at 9:04 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2001 at his residence.
He was born October 10, 1948 in Peoria to Benjamin Harrison Franklin and Lucille Ruth Noe Sutter.
Surviving is one daughter, Jerri L. Thomas of Jackson, Missouri; one son, Benjamin L. Sutter, Jr. of Tremont; three grandchildren; three brothers, Ivan E. Sutter of Peoria, and Donald W. (Diane) Sutter, and Craig E. Sutter, both of Creve Coeur; five sisters, Mary A. (Ray) Morrow of Bartonville, Pamela R. (Mikel) Schlipf and Theresa A. (Michael) Ulrich, both of Peoria, Debra I. (Mark) Williams of South Pekin, and Leslie A. Sutter of East Peoria; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Marine Corps. during the Viet Nam War.
Mr. Sutter worked for Maple City Manufacturing for many years. He later worked for P and P Press in Peoria as a bindery clerk for 8 years, last working May 20, 1999.
Graveside services will be at Noon Friday, July 13, 2001 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield with military honors by the Inter-veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County. There will be no visitation.

HELEN C. JANSSEN
(1913-2001)
PEKIN - Helen Charlotte Janssen, 88, of 1820 Market Street in Pekin, died at 9:07 a.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at Hallmark House Nursing Center in Pekin.
Born April 3, 1913 in Emden to Clarence S. and Maude Matlock Carnahan, she married William Conrad Janssen on February 27, 1932 in Emden. He died July 2, 1982 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara J. Wrhel on May 5, 2001 in Pekin; one brother; one sister and several nieces and nephews including Tom Keyes, whom she helped raise.
Surviving are two sons, William S. (Judy) Janssen of Spring Lake and Philip E. (Joyce) Janssen of Pekin; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.
She worked in the bottling department of American Distilling Company in Pekin for 27 years, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
She enjoyed fishing.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. The Rev. Vaughn A. Hoffman will officiate. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel.

ROGER D. HORNSBY
(1930-2001)
CREVE COEUR - Roger Dean Hornsby, 70, of 505 Roberts Street, Creve Coeur, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, July 8, 2001 at Fondulac Woods Healthcare Center in East Peoria.
Born October 26, 1930 in Peoria to Virgil Clark and Ella Moss Martin Hornsby, he married Valentina Helen Tabaraz on September 17, 1955 in Quantico, Virginia.
Surviving are three sons, Roger D. "Dean" (Mary) Hornsby, II of Washington, John Q. Hornsby of West Valley City, Utah, and Thomas G. Hornsby of Creve Coeur; two daughters, Teresa A. Steele of Fayetteville, North Carolina and Monica D. (Matt) Ragon of Creve Coeur; one daughter-in-law, Regina L. Hornsby of Maryville, Tennessee; thirteen grandchildren; two great-grandsons; four brothers, Virgil C. Hornsby of Fairbanks, Alaska, Bobby (Rose) Hornsby of Berlin, Wisconsin, Donnie Hornsby of Mackinaw, and Jack Hornsby of Creve Coeur; and three sisters, Rella Burke of East Peoria, Rose (Bud) Lutz of Vermont, Illinois, and Ruthy McClary of Pekin.
His parents, one son (Rocky D. Hornsby on February 24, 1999 in Maryville, Tennessee), three brothers, and one sister preceded him in death.
He served in the United States Army from January 6, 1948 to January 23, 1954. While in the Army, he had served on General MacArthur's Honor Guard. He later served in the United States Marine Corp. from April 2, 1954 until his separation on July 31, 1968 with the rank of Gunnery Sergeant. He then worked as a security guard at American Distilling Company in Pekin for 12 years until its closing in 1980.
He was a member of American Legion Post #983 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2078, both of East Peoria, and the National Rifle Association. He was of the Catholic faith.
Graveside services will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2001 at Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria. The Rev. John E. Plunkett will officiate and military honors will be by the United States Marine Corps. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be made to the East Peoria Youth Council / Richland Bottoms.
LORRAINE M. RENOUF
(1927-2001)
PEKIN - Lorraine Mary Renouf, 74, of 1415 Westshore Drive in Pekin, died at 6:49 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2001 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. She was formerly of Waukegan.
She was born April 17, 1927 in Waukegan to William Edward and Elsie Mary Slavin Riley.
Surviving are one daughter, Diane L. (Fred) Peterson of Tremont; two granddaughters, Margaret A. "Megan" Peterson and Sharon E. Peterson, both of Tremont and one sister, Shirley L. Riley of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth E. Riley.
Ms. Renouf was a civilian employee at the Naval Training Center at Great Lakes, Illinois for 33 years, retiring in 1992.
She attended First Baptist Church in Pekin and was a former member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Waukegan.
She enjoyed reading.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 14, 2001 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Chip Handrich will officiate. There will be no visitation. Cremation will be accorded. Burial of ashes will be in Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville at a future date.
