Keith E. Gibson, 44, of Gladwin, died Friday, March 24, 2000 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor after a short illness.
Born July 30, 1955 in Gunnerville, Ala., he lived in Gladwin County since 1990 and previously lived in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Keith married Debbie (Warren), Jan. 25, 1980 in Bay City. He was a golf cart technician for Golf Cart Systems in Fernandina Beach, Fla.
Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Dawn Marie and husband Timothy Domin Sr. of Plymouth; three sons, Jason Bulloch, and Brian and Corey Gibson, all of Gladwin; one grandson, Timothy Domin Jr.; one granddaughter, Tiffany Gibson; his mother and stepfather, Susan and Ronald Hicks of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; his father, Howard Eugene Gibson of Alabama; one brother, James Alexander of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; two stepbrothers, Raymond Hicks of Fernandina Beach, Fla., and Russel Hicks of Warren; and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday at Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin with Rev. Donald Potter officiating. Burial was in Bentley Cemetery in Gibson Township.
Ida Mary McGregor (Klein), of Brea, Calif., and formerly of Gladwin, died Tuesday, March 14, 2000 after a long illness.
Born March 12, 1921 in Gladwin, she lived in Gladwin until 1945 when she moved to Hilo, Hawaii and married George L. McGregor. In 1947, she moved to Ft. Wayne, Ind. In 1957, she moved to Gardenia, Calif.
Surviving are her husband, George McGregor of Brea, Calif.; three daughters, Maurece Pahl of Gladwin, Lavonne McGregor of Brea, Calif., Janis Russo and husband Jeff of Norco, Calif.; one son, William Ralph McGregor of Moreno Valley, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, Donna Rellinger and husband Jeff of Severna Park, Md., Julia Cripps and Jay of Big Rapids, Daniel Pahl and wife Carla of Mountsville, W. V., Cheryl Pahl of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Jeffrey Pahl and Julie of Gladwin, Chris McGregor and Karen of Fullerton, Calif., Robbie and Justin McGregor of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Rose and Vincent of Norco, Calif.; 12 great-grandchildren, Shannon, Shelly, Alison, Erin, Chelsea, Tim, Nikki, Andrew, Joshua, Amanda, Adam and Ashlee; two sisters, Ella Winkler of Gladwin and Bernice Tucker of Midland; sister-in-law, Ellen Klein of Gladwin; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cora and Ralph Klein; and brother, Charles Klein.
Services were held March 18, 2000 in Brea, Calif. at Memory Garden Memorial Chapel with burial in Memory Garden Memorial Park.
Kathleen E. Klawender, 73, of Gladwin, died Wednesday, March 22, 2000 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home in Gladwin. She was born March 30, 1926 in Morgantown, W. V. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are her husband, Arthur Klawender; children, Arthur (Shirley), Sue Felczak and Gary (Stephanie) Klawender; two brothers, Robert and Elmer Long; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Resurrection Funeral Home in Clinton Township with the Rev. Joseph Gembala officiating.
Larry Dean Bearss, 55, of Clement, died Saturday, March 25, 2000 at home.
Born May 6, 1944 in Gladwin, he was the son of Ralph Bearss and Dorothea Drummond. He lived in Gladwin all his life.
Larry married Nancy-Lee M. Lingnau. He worked in repair-assembly. He worked at Fisher Plant one in Flint, was retired from Buick City and was a member of the UAW.
He was a Navy veteran. He was also a member of the West Branch VFW and a Clement Township volunteer fireman.
Besides his wife he is survived by one daughter, Rhonda Bearss of Gladwin; two sons, Larry Dean II and Brian and wife Wendy, all of Gladwin; his mother, Dorothea Bearss of Gladwin; two sisters, Martha and husband Gil Burgeson of Bay City, and Ada Beers of Plant City, Fla.; two brothers, Ralph and wife Mary Anne of Gladwin and Roger and wife Sonya of Millington; and two granddaughters, Angelia and Erica Bearss of Gladwin.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch with Elder Gil Burgeson officiating. Burial was in Edwards Township Cemetery in West Branch. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands.
Lorene Pendley, 78, of Beaverton, died Friday, March 24, 2000 at Bay Medical Center in Bay City following a short illness.
Born Dec. 3, 1921 in Cadiz, Ky., she lived in Gladwin County since 1977 and previously lived in Dearborn. Lorene married David Pendley Sr. He preceded her in death in 1992. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Beaverton Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie Beardslee of Westland and Gaynell and husband Dr. William McIntyre of Redford; four sons, Arthur and wife Alberta of Irish Hills, Wayne and wife Jane of Denver, Colo., David Jr. of Coleman, and James of Detroit; one sister, Colleen Rodgers of Lincoln Park; one brother, Elvis of Ward, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Services were held at noon Tuesday at Harry J. Will Funeral Home, Redford. Burial was in Cadillac Memorial West in Westland. Memorial contributions may be made to be used according to the family.
Hall Funeral Home was in charge of the local arrangements.
Mary Ann Best, 83, of Gladwin, died March 21, 2000 at home following a short illness.
Born July 11, 1916 in Brooklyn, N.Y., she lived in Gladwin County for 12 years and previously lived in Clawson.
Mary Ann married John C. best Sr. in 1934 in Detroit. He preceded her in death in 1985. She was a homemaker.
Surviving are two sons, John C. Jr. of Gladwin and Carl F. and wife Carol of Vista, Calif.; one daughter, Lois I. and husband Robert Brooks of Madison Heights; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place. Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin, was in charge of the arrangements.
