Martha “Tillie” Robertson Ransone, 76, died Saturday, June 3, 2006.

Cheek.

Annie Marie Towles, 61, of Goochland, died Sunday, June 4, 2006.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Melvin Woodson, were held Saturday, June 10 at Fauquier Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
She is survived by two sons; daughters-in-law; five grandchildren; three sisters; and one brother.
Ruth A. Carpenter
Ruth Ann Carpenter, 55, pf Aylett, died Thursday, June 15, 2006 at her residence.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 25 at the Rehoboth Baptist Fellowship, King William.
She is survived by her husband, Paul Carpenter; two children, Barbara Ann White of Gum Spring and Carolyn Suprenant of Farmville; five grandchildren, Samantha, Robert, Meaghan, Rachel and Christian.
She was a founding member of Rehoboth Baptist Fellowship where she served as a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir.

Barbara Anne Green, 61, of King William, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Shirley McRae, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24 at the Mechanicsville Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home. Interment was at Hanover Memorial Park, Mechanicsville.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph “Dave” Green; her children, Donald Scott Egan of Richmond and Dawn Marie Halvorsen and her husband, Michael, of Virginia Beach; her grandchildren, Christopher, Emma and Mikey; her brothers, Robert Charles Spadaccini and his wife, Barbara, of California, Paul Spadaccini and his wife, Linda, of Connecticut; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert H. Green and Dottee of King William; her nieces, Paula Spadaccini, Alecia Twilford and Charlene Spadaccini; and nephews, Tommy, Deano, Tony, Lonnie Twilford, Robbie Spadaccini and Robert Green.
She is also survived by her second family of three sons and four daughters, Charles A. Scott Sr. of Virginia Beach, David Green and his wife, Nancy, of Midlothian, Johnie Green and his wife, Trinh, of Richmond, the late Robert Green and his wife, Anita, of Mechanicsville, Tammy King and her late husband, Carl, of California, Debra Brooks and husband, Kendall, of Rockville, Lisa Luck and her husband, Bill, of Mechanicsville and the late Susan Michelle Scott of Virginia Beach; and grandchildren, Victoria, Jon, Josh, Kari, Joseph, Kimberly, Kaitlin, Michael, Meredith, MacKenzie and Wayne. She is also survived by her many friends.
Mrs. Green was born on December 29, 1944 in Flushing, New York, the daughter of the late Emma Elizabeth Spadaccini and Michael Spadaccini.
She moved to Virginia Beach in 1967 and relocated to Richmond in 1990 where she worked for the State of Virginia for 14 years.

Ardaway G. Harris
Ardaway Gregory Harris, 85, of Rockville, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at Henrico Doctors Hospital.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Jaimal C. Hayes, were held at noon Wednesday, June 21 at the Abner Baptist Church, Glen Allen. Interment was in Roselawn Memory Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Marie G. Harris; a daughter, Patricia Faulk and her husband, Tyrone; two grandchildren, Angela and William Dickerson Jr.; one great-grandson, Jaylen Lucas; a sister, Alberta Lynch and her husband, Lenwood; a brother, Linwood Harris and his wife, Vernisha; four nephews; two nieces; and a number of other relatives and friends.
He was a World War II veteran and retired from Greyhound Bus Lines.

Lydia Johnson Howell, 94, of Richmond, died Thursday, June 15, 2006.

She is survived by four children, Daisy A. Morris, Corine D. Wood, Garland Howell Jr. and Ione H. Green; three sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
Mrs. Howell was born April 1, 1912 in Manakin Sabot, the daughter of the late Annise and Eliza Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garland Howell Sr.; four brothers; and three sisters.

Betty Lou Pearce, 66, of Short Pump, died Friday, June 23, 2006.

She is survived by her sons, Ronnie Pearce and his wife, Regina, Donnie Pearce and John Pearce and his wife, Tammy; her grandchildren, Felicia, Ronnie Jr., Rachel, Lauren, Sara and Jami; her great-granddaughter, Juliana; her brothers, Tommy Ballard of Florida and Gene Ballard; her sisters, Margaret Ely of Florida and Joyce Holder; and many other loving family members and friends.
Mrs. Pearce was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Lee Pearce.

Collins Godfrey Sheppard, 78, of Crozier, died Saturday, June 24, 2006.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27 at Ragland Memorial Baptist Church. Interment was in the church cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Barbara R. Sheppard; a son, C. Duane Sheppard and his friend, Barbara Feldman, and her sons, Garrick and Jarrod Wolmuth.
Mr. Sheppard was preceded in death by his stepfather, Warren Alvis; his mother, Velma Alvis; and his grandparents, James and Alice Walder.
He served with the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Corrections after 37 years of service.
He was a member of Ragland Memorial Baptist Church and worked with Dover Baptist Association.

Katherine M. Amann, 53, of Manakin-Sabot, died on Tuesday, September 26, 2006.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 30 at the Bliley Funeral Homes’ Central Chapel.
She is survived by her loving husband, Henry J. Amann; a sister, Carolyn Sauer and her husband, John C; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Preceded in death by her parents, Vincent A. and Virginia Wright Mariner, Mrs. Amann was a long-time volunteer with the Henrico County Police, SCAN and other local charities.

Beulah W. Gathright
Beulah Olivia Witt Gathright, 93, of Richmond, originally of Marion, died September 30, 2006.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at Ridge Baptist Church. Interment will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4 at Evergreen Cemetery, Roanoke.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ellis E. Gathright, formerly of Goochland; one son, Roger, and his wife, Angie; two grandchildren, Daniel and Shelly Gathright; sisters-in-law, Louise Lea, Ann Fullhart, Dorothy Gathright and Judith Cooke; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The daughter of the late Roger and Ocie Witt, she was also preceded in death by her sister, Doris.
Mrs. Gathright was an active member of Ridge Baptist Church for over 50 years where she served as Junior Department director, at which time she led the department to an achievement award. She was also the co-director of Sunday school for many years and served as one of the first two women deacons.
She was also an active member of the Piedmont District of the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs; an honorary member of the Forest Heights and Thomas Jefferson Garden Clubs; and a former member of Ikebana of Richmond.

Elsie P. Gathright
Elsie Pitts Gathright, 76, of Goochland Courthouse, died on Wednesday, September 27, 2006.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Rhonda Baker, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 29 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel.
She is survived by the four children, Janet G. Fry, Lewis “Lew” Gathright Jr, Carol E. Gathright, and Martin M. Gathright; her son-in-law, John Fry; and grandchildren, Jana and Marty Fry.
Mrs. Gathright was the widow of Lewis K. Gathright Sr.
She graduated from Goochland High School, spent a year at JMU, and graduated from Johnston-Willis School of Nursing in 1951, retiring in 1995 after 40 years in the nursing field of service.
She was a member of Grace Episcopal Church and a charter member of the Goochland Historical Society.

Michael Patrick Hedges, 25, of Maidens, died Friday, September 29, 2006.
He is survived by his parents, George and Dana Hedges; his sister, Tara Hedges, all of Maidens; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Chrystal Hall of Whiting, New Jersey; and his maternal grandmother, Eileen Hedges of Hackensack, New Jersey.
Mr. Hedges was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, George Hedges Sr.
He graduated from James River High School in 2000 and was a criminal justice student at John Tyler Community College. Mr. Hedges was employed at Binswanger Glass and was previously employed with Virginia Shower Door and Bottega Bistro.

Franklin Charles Raymond Sr., 64, formerly of Goochland, died Saturday, November 11, 2006 at his home in Monmouth Junction.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 17 at M. David DeMarco Funeral Home, New Jersey. Entombment was in Holy Cross Burial Park Mausoleum.
He is survived by his father, William F. Raymond of Verona; his mother, Gatha N. Raymond of Manakin-Sabot; his fiancee, Sharon I. Kenia of Monmouth Junction; his daughter, Cynthia Raymond of Ewing; his brothers, Robert L. Raymond and his wife, Linda of Maidens, Barry L. Raymond of Maidens, Ronald R. Raymond of Gum Spring and Roy Raymond of Gum Spring; his sister, Lynetta Parrish and her husband, Gerald of Richmond; his grandchildren, Amber, Ashley, Franklin C. III, Amanda and Lenae Marie; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Mr. Raymond was employed by Delphi Energy and Management Systems, a division of General Motors in New Brunswick for 43 years until his retirment in 2006. He was a member of IUE Local 416 in New Brunswick, the American Legion Post 434 in Englishtown, and a past member of Elks Lodge 324 in New Brunswick.
Viola A. Russell
Viola Lena Anthony Russell, 88, died Saturday, November 25, 2006.
Funeral services, conducted by the Rev. Roger M. Jones and the Rev. Frederick Sales, were held at noon Wednesday, November 29 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Mineral.
She is survived by seven daughters, Joyce Russell, Gloria Russell, Claudia Banks, Deloris Richardson, Shirley Russell, Carol Rivers and Ann R. Pace; four sons, Roger, Charles, Bobby and John Russell; her grandchildren spanning five generations; two sisters-in-law, Eva M. Anthony and Louise Russell; a devoted niece, Rose Marie Shelton; a nephew, James E. Jackson; a devoted great-niece, Gail Shelton-Lemon; her family friend and caretaker, Deaconess Eva West; and her close friend, Deaconess Lowrine Shelton.
Mrs. Russell was born January 22, 1918 in Goochland County, the daughter of the late Christopher John Anthony and Ella Anthony. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Robert L. Russell Sr.; two sons, James Monroe Russell and Robert L. Russell Jr.; a daughter, the Rev. Mary R. Jackson; two sisters, Petrello Jackson and Elsie Jackson; and two brothers, Samuel and John Anthony.
She was baptized at an early age and attended church services in Goochland and Richmond. In later years, she joined Rising Sun Baptist Church where she was a member of the missionary board.

David F. Ziletti
David F. Ziletti, 62, of Manakin-Sabot, died Thursday, November 30, 2006.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec.4 at St. Benedict’s Catholic Church. Interment was in Westhampton Memorial Park.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia L. Ziletti; his son, David F. Ziletti Jr.and his wife, Mimi; his daughter, Anne Maria Dillon and her husband,Thomas J. Dillon III; his brother, William G. Ziletti Jr. and his wife, Mary; his mother-in-law, Eleanor Garnett; and six grandchildren, Austin, Kiernan, and Henry Ziletti, Eleanor, T.J., and Jack Dillon.
Mr. Ziletti was president of CCR Retail Systems for 35 years. He served on the board of the Retail Solutions Providers Association for 25 years, 12 of which as president. Mr. Ziletti served on the financial committee of St. Benedict’s Church.

She is survived by her sister, Violette Turner and her husband, Jack Collins, of Pamplico, South Carolina; brothers, John and his wife, Pat Turner, of Plainfield, Illinois, Steve and his wife, Beci Turner, of Overland Park, Kansas, Barry and his wife, Dede Turner, of Hannah, South Carolina; sister-in-law, Jane Turner of Florence, South Carolina; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Fleming was employed at Holly Farms,now Tyson Foods, for several years and retired from Philip Morris after 19 years of service.
