Vera was born April 14, 1913, in Kansas City, Kansas and was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area. She was a Dental Assistant and Office Manager for Dr. Aubrey Gentry for 23 years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the Overland Park Presbyterian Church, lifetime member of the PTA, and was past president of the Kansas State Dental Assistant Association. She was preceded by her husband, Harry and two sons, Jack and Paul. She is survived by a sister, Edith Allison, Mission, KS, aunt, Ann Blowers, Prairie Village, KS 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and 5 nieces and nephews.

He had served in World War II, and the Korean Conflict, and was involved in the search for Amelia Earhart in 1937 on the USS Colorado. He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association for over 40 years; and a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church. Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Elizabeth; 2 brothers, Joseph, and John; and a sister, Anna Pearl.
