He had been a chemist for the Studebaker Automobile Co for 30 yrs and then a chemistry teacher at the Indiana University Extension in South Bend, retiring in 1970. He was a graduate of Indiana University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. He was married to Ruth Clark on June 16, 1929, and she preceded him in death in 1998. He is survivied by 2 daughters, Alma Louise Dreiner, Ocala, FL, Mary Ellen Rich, Basehor, KS, 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
