Jimmy H. Quesada Jr, age 35 of Windfall, IN passed away at 8:00 PM on July 13, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born on June 22, 1971 in Port Clinton, Ohio to Jimmy and Juanita (Hernandez) Quesada, they both survive and live in Weslaco, Texas. Jimmy married Sophia Rios on December 21, 1987. He worked as a foreman doing directional boring of underground fiber optic cables. Jimmy is survived by his wife Sophia Quesada of Windfall, IN, two daughters Serena Anika Quesada and Sarah Jacklyn Quesada both of Windfall along with a son Jeffrey Jim Quesada of Windfall. Also surviving are a brother Gregorio Quesada and a sister Daisy Quesada. Calling will be on July 18, 2006 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Matt Thompson, 47 of Windfall, IN passed away at 1:58 PM on July 8, 2006 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN. He was born on December 6, 1958 at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio to John Albert and Joyce Joan (Love) Thompson who are both decaesed. Matt married Joy A. Huffman on December 9, 1978. He has been a member of the Tipton County Sheriffs Department since 1983 serving as Chief Deputy and Jail Commander over the years. Matt was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association, A.B.A.T.E., Harley Owners Group, (H.O.G.) Tri-Central Booster Club and the Indiana Sheriff’s Association. He is survived by his wife, Joy Thompson of Windfall, two daughters Amanda (John) Kinney of Kokomo and Allison Thompson of Windfall along with one granddaughter, Kiley Ann Kinney. Matt’s brothers Mike and Mark Thompson preceded him in death. Calling will be on July 12, 2006 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Porter Funeral Home in Tipton. Elaine E. Booher, 53 of Tipton, IN passed away at 3:17 AM on June 25, 2006 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN. She was born on October 19, 1952 in Tipton, IN to Reuben and Billie Jo (Dell) Elston. Elaine married Gerald Booher on 1-22-1999 and he passed away 9-18-2002. She had previously worked at Park 100 Foods in Tipton. Elaine had attended the Assembly of God Church in Tipton. She is survived by her mother, Billie Jo Cardwell of Tipton, two daughters Kimberly Melton of Tipton and April Lovell of Kokomo. Two granddaughters, Sherri Porter and Ashley Porter both of of Tipton survive along with one brother Larry Elston of Windfall. Pauline O. Williams, age 90 of Tipton, IN passed away on June 22, 2006 at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton, IN. She was born September 1, 1915 in Tipton County, Indiana to Everett and Esther (Enright) Straley. Pauline married Charles Williams on July 9, 1938 and he survives. She had worked
at Delco Electronics in Kokomo for 25 years before retiring in 1982. Surviving with her husband Charles are two sons, Charles E. Williams of Newcastle, IN and Richard Williams of Kokomo, IN along with nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Also surviving is one sister, Mildred Pavese of Elwood, IN. Richard C. “Dick” Martin age 92 of Tipton, IN passed away at 12:55 AM on June 21, 2006 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN. He was born on April 4, 1924 in Brooklyn, NY . Dick was married to Betty Hoffman in 1946 and she passed away in 2005. He was a member of the West Street Christian Church where he served as a Deacon and was also very active in the American Legion, he was a Life Member of the V.F.W. and the Disabled American Veterans. Dick retired from the Long Island Railroad in 1975 after working 35 years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served during WW II receiving the Purple Heart after being wounded. Doris Carnetta Harmon 88 of Peru, IN and formerly Tipton, IN passed away at 5:30 AM on June 17, 2006 at Howard Regional in Kokomo, IN. She was born on June 21, 1930 in Tetersburg, IN to Joseph and Bessie (Burkhead) Roe who both are deceased. Doris married Mose Harmon on 11-18-1950 and he passed away 3-15-2002. Doris had worked at Pioneer and Stokely Van Camp during the harvest season. She was a member of the Hobbs Christian Church. Doris is survived by a daughter Mary Harmon of Peru, two granddaughters Tracy (Toby) Bray and Melissa (David) Mills along with three great grandchildren. Three brothers, Thomas (Peggy) Roe of CA, George Elenor) Roe of Brownsburg and Charles (Joan) Roe of Kokomo survive. A sister Judith Roe of Tipton also survives. Dan Stahly, age 80 of Tipton, IN passed away on June 16, 2006 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, IN. He was born January 21, 1926 in Elkhart County in Indiana to Roy and Ethel (Frederick) Stahly. Dan married Mabel Wright on September 15, 1946 and she survives. He was a member of West Street Christian Church in Tipton where Dan had served as an Elder, Trustee and had sung in the church choir. Dan and Mabel were both elected to receive the honor of Elder Emeritus by the congregation of West Street Christian Church in the fall of 2005. Dan was a farmer, had owned and operated Dan Stahly Amoco and had operated a greenhouse that specialized in growing hydroponic tomatoes. Surviving with his wife Mabel are three children, Dave Stahly of Tipton, Bruce Stahly of Grand Marais, MN and Esther Stahly Grayson of Fishers along with seven grandchildren, Jeff Stahly, Dee Ann Stahly, Doug Stahly, Justin Etchison, Rachel Etchison, Brittany Grayson, Blythe Grayson and three great grandchildren. Also surviving are a brother, John Stahly of South Bend, IN and two sisters, Donabelle Shell of Ligonier, IN and Jean Loveless of Sebring, FL. A daughter, Jo Ann Etchison and two brothers preceded in death A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM on 6-20-2006 at the West Street Christian Church in Tipton with the Revs. Roger and Janice Burns Watson officiating. Don Keith Angell, age 79 of Tipton, IN passed away at 5:30 AM on June 13, 2006 at Riverview Hospital in Noblesville, IN. He was born on November 20,1926 in Madison County, IN to Charles and Marie (Molden) Angell. Don was married to Jane (Helgerson) Angell and she survives. Don was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Moose Lodge, American Legion all in Tipton and the Eagles in Lebanon, IN and VFW in Noblesville, IN. He retired from Steel Parts Corporation in 1972 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Don is survived by a son David (Erika) Angell of Charlotte, AK two daughters Karen (Sid) Reinholt of Logansport and Cindy (Perry) Platt of Middletown, IN along with 14 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. A brother Joe (Joyce) Angell of Linton, IN. Two sisters Evelyn Larner and Jane James preceded Don in death along with two sons Duane and Jeffery Angell. Laura Ellen Gray, age 83 of Tipton, IN passed away at 4:45 PM on June 9, 2006 at Millers Merry Manor in Tipton, IN. She was born on November 1, 1922 in Tipton, IN to John and Lula (Bogue) Fennell. Laura married Owen W. Gray on November 4, 1939 and he passed away on November 23, 1974. She was a member of the Windfall Church of the Brethren and belonged to the Women’s Fellowship within the church. Laura had been employed at Delco Remy in Anderson, IN until retiring in 1968 after 28 years. She later returned to Elwood High School graduating in 1973. A brother George Fennell of Arcadia and a sister Della Buckley of Sharpsville survive along with 16 nieces and nephews. One brother and three sisters preceded Laura in death. Gene Alice Henkey, age 85 of Kokomo, IN and formerly of Windfall, IN passed away at 12:57 PM on June 9, 2006 at Howard Regional in Kokomo, IN. She was born on January 24,1921 in Tipton County, IN to Leslie and Florence (Nash) Graham. Gene married George Croyle in 1941 and he passed away in 1951, she then married Charles Henkey in 1954 with Charles passing away in 1996. Gene was a housewife and a homemaker. She graduated from Windfall High School in 1939. Gene was a member of the Windfall Christian Church, Eastern Star and the White Shrine both in Greentown. She was also a member of the Past Matrons and the 50 Plus Club in Windfall. Gene is survived by a son David (Phyllis) Croyle of Kokomo along with grandchildren Shawn Croyle, Melissa Larson, Lonnie Sharp, Kelly Sharp, Scott Sharp and five great grandchildren. A brother Phillip Graham of Elwood along with two sisters Clora Browning of Windfall and Beverly Hale of Kokomo also survive. A sister Betty Lacy preceded Gene in death. Perry Wayne Shelby, age 49 of Kempton, IN passed away at 10:00 PM on May 31, 2006 at his home in Kempton, IN. He was born on June 12,1956 in Benham, KY to Carol and Jean (Bush) Shelby. Perry had been employed at FMC Corporation in Tipton until it closed, he then went to Wal Mart where he had worked for the past 16 years. Perry also was a past member of the Indiana National Guard from 1974 to 1984. He is survived by two daughters, Courtney Shelby of Ohio and Carole Shelby of Kempton along with his mother and stepfather Jean and Ronald Short of Kempton. A brother Michael Shelby of Kempton along with two sisters, Glenda Carlson and Brenda Beam both of Russiaville also survive. Perry’s father, Carol Shelby preceded him in death. Eathel E. Carter age 83 of Tipton, IN passed away at 3:29 PM on May 20, 2006 at Tipton County Memorial Hospital in Tipton, IN. He was born on February 24, 1923 in Clinton County Indiana to Glen and Alma (Dickinson) Carter (both are deceased). Eathel married Frances Hopkins on August 10, 1945 and she survives. Eathel was a member of the Hobbs Methodist Church in Hobbs along with the Masonic Lodge in Kokomo, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine both of Indianapolis and the Kokomo Shrine. He retired in 1980 from Delco Radio in Kokomo, Indiana after 34 years. Eathel is survived by four children, Larry (Karen) Carter of Tipton, Linda (Bob) Burkert of Tipton, Max (Geneva) Carter of Tipton and Kathy & Joe of Tipton along with 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters and several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, 1 brother, 2 daughters Sue and Joyce along with 1 great grandson preceded in death. Mary Jane Barnett age 79 of Kempton, IN passed away at 4:35 PM on April 25, 2006 at St. Petersburg General Hospital in Florida. She was born on September 18, 1927 in Kokomo, IN to Vern and Gladys (Maroni) Faust. Mary Jane married Myron “Barney” Barnett on February 16, 1947 and he passed away on May 5, 2001. They had just celebrated 54 years of marriage prior to Barneys death. She was a member of the Kempton Christian Church in Kempton but was also a frequent visitor at the Normanda Christian Church. Mary Jane was a housewife and homemaker. She graduated from Kokomo High School in 1945 and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Mary Jane is survived by her children, Nancy (Dave) Hill of Kempton, IN, Cathy (Larry) Miller of Indianapolis, IN and Amy (Dennis) Reeves of Indianapolis, IN along with her grandchildren, Daniel (Mary Jane) Hill, Darren (Jennifer Fearnow) Hill, Dean (Missy) Hill, Angela (Mark Mitchell) Miller, Valerie (Tony Simpson) Miller, Nicole (Brian) Renaud, Jordan O’Connell, Alex Reeves, Brady O’Connell, Ernie Daniels and Danielle Reeves.
